The carpet cleaner did a good job on my old carpet. It is a little heavy, but it cleans well. Looking forward to trying the attachments next.

If you have pets you need to buy this carpet cleaner. It has amazing suction and scrub power, easy to empty the dirty water, and better water capacity then other carpet cleaners. It's bigger and it's better.

The Rug Doctor Deep Clean carpet cleaner came ready to use out of the box. The clean water and dirty water tanks are easily pulled out and easy to fill and empty. The cleaner was not hard to use or too heavy and it cleaned even deep and old stains and dirt with one or two passes. One very heavily soiled area took a little more work, but we were very pleased that it was removed. The extraction brought up most of the water used and the carpets were surface dry within 2 hours and within 4 hours we had all furniture replaced. The rooms we cleaned smelled great when we finished, and with my allergies that was a good thing. I would recommend this product without hesitation. I had compared Bissell and Hoover cleaners and I found the Rug Doctor more reasonably priced between comparable models. Having owned a Bissell cleaner, the Rug Doctor Deep Clean is a much better machine. One thing to be aware of, the bottle of Rug cleaning soap that comes with the cleaner is very small and did only clean a little over half of an 11'x17' room. Have extra soap available and I would recommend getting soap with a suds reducer. Happy carpet cleaning!

This carpet cleaner is a must for anyone with a family or pets. It is easy to use and does a great job on all my carpets. The upholstery tool is easily attached and is easy to use as well. I praise the designer, a lot of thought went into the whole design. I like the fact that the measuring cup is built into the cap of the clean water unit. The only thing that could been better is a larger clean water tank but I can't really call that a negative. I would defiantly recommend this to my friends or family.

I first bought a Hoover power path Pro XL but quickly returned it because of very little suction capability and extremely hard to clean after use. I purchased the Rug Doctor online and received it 2 days later! I can't tell you how in love I am with this machine. The upolstery wand is a little in the way when you have it on the machine, but you have the option of removing it. As for suction; you put a gallon of water/solution in, you get a gallon back out when you dump the dirty water!! I was amazed at how quick my rugs dried after cleaning (approx 45 mins with no airflow). The only drawback I have with the machine is not being able to view the dirty water being sucked up... In retrospect, this design is good though because it puts most of the weight of the machine up front which definately helps with suction. Do yourself a favor and pay the extra money for this machine!! It's about $100 more than others, but apsolutley worth the investment!

The suction is fantastic, and my carpets are dry within an hour, regardless of how much water and solution I use. I finally decided that, after spending $35 a day, that having it around when I need it was simply worth it. You have paid for this item after seven uses. Considering I basically have to use it once a month, and that it is sturdy it is well worth it. Many have commented on the cheapness of the handle, but I find that it makes the machine both lighter and easier to handle. Our carpets had not been washed in five years. Yes, I know this is gross, and yes, we need to replace it entirely. However, we just bought the house, and have to live with the carpet till we can afford to replace it. With that being said, our carpets changed color over night. Hard, stuck in stains took a night's soak with some cleaning solution or baking soda, and a second cleaning. Our little urine machine of a dog made the house stink of urine, and how spells ten times better. If you have owned an industrial $800+ cleaner, then you will be disappointed with the lack of sensory features, and light modules. However, if you are use to renting these machines from the kiosks, or have had a cheaper $100 Bissel, this is an AMAZING upgrade and I would completely recommend it. The warranty makes me feel pretty secure with my purchase as well.

Pros Easy to Use, Sturdy, Performs Well, Strong Suction, Good Size & Lightweight, Easy to Empty Filter Cons it's not a steam cleaner you add warm water.

10 year old carpet, 2 kids, 3 dogs. Had another store bought carpet cleaner for a while, but left carpet extremely wet, and a chance for the carpet to wick. This Rug Doctor is AWESOME. took out stains in once pass with the x boost, and the suction on this cleaner is so great that the carpet dries SUPER FAST!!!. You can even go over areas again and pull/lift unit so the front edge (suction) has most of the weight, and it gets all the moisture it possible can. Carpets look great, used the hand tool for areas I could not get stand up unit, and that works great too. Durable plastic, way better than other units, and easy to fill tank, and empty dirty tank. The unit will let you know when the water is out, or its time to change the dirty tank, the noise of the unit changes. SUPER FAST, clean. Anyone looking to buy a Bissel or Hoover, DON"T, upgrade and buy this!! Once pass, cleans, and gets it dry fast.

I have owned many carpet cleaners....Hoover, Bissell...This by far is the best rug cleaner. Well worth the extra money. I have found the best shampoo is to use ( he) Laundry Detergent (Tide, Persil) and Oxiclean The extra money you spent on the cleaner you will save by making your own shampoo.

This was a great purchase - I was amazed at how dirty the water was after cleaning the carpets. I had no idea the carpets were this dirty. The convenience of owning the machine vs renting it goes without saying - it pays for itself in no time - not to mention the time it saves by not having to travel to and from the store to rent and return it - and it's really great to be able to clean the carpet - let it dry and redo the high traffic areas the next day without having to rent the machine a second time. It comes almost completely assembled - just a part to put on the handle to put the furniture cleaning tool attachment on. I saw the same machine for sale at Walmart but the price at Walmart was $10 more than what I paid for it at Home Depot. I ordered it on line and it was delivered within 5 days.
