Wow, a product that isn't colored black with black writing on a black background! Yes, black is the most economical color for manufacturers, but Rug Doctor actually spent a few more bucks to make this product colorful and easy to read. Everything is labeled clearly, and directions for wrapping the upholstery hose are conveniently placed. I understand this is not an industrial cleaner, but the one annoying thing is that the clean-water tank empties too quickly.

Pros Nice Design Cons tank empties quickly

Absolutely love it! I had a Bissel before and it broke, so I decided to spend a little more money and bought the Rug Doctor. And it has been the best purchase ever. I have 2 older dogs and room with white carpet that they love to have thier accidents in! This machine took care of all the stains and there is no urine odor neither! Love this machine!

I bought this to replace a very disappointing Hoover. This machine very effectively extracted the soap left behind by the Hoover. When I was through, the carpet was much cleaner and was only left damp, not wet. In addition, there are two brushes. One rotates and the other agitates. I don't know if this makes a difference, but this machine definitely outperforms Hoover and Bissell.. Emptying is easier than average. There is large screw on cap that allows you to easily dump the dirty water. There is a similar cap on the clean water container but that one has a built in measuring cup. This is a small but valuable feature. My only criticism is I wish there was a separate soap tank. I like to go over what I have done with clean water when I am done. I had to dump out my excess soapy water and refill the container. Still gets 5 stars. The suction so heavily outweighs the lack of a separate soap tank.

Pros Nice Design, Easy to Empty Filter, Easy to Use, Good Size & Lightweight, Performs Well, Strong Suction, handle folds nicely Cons no separate soap tamk

This was a great purchase - I was amazed at how dirty the water was after cleaning the carpets. I had no idea the carpets were this dirty. The convenience of owning the machine vs renting it goes without saying - it pays for itself in no time - not to mention the time it saves by not having to travel to and from the store to rent and return it - and it's really great to be able to clean the carpet - let it dry and redo the high traffic areas the next day without having to rent the machine a second time. It comes almost completely assembled - just a part to put on the handle to put the furniture cleaning tool attachment on. I saw the same machine for sale at Walmart but the price at Walmart was $10 more than what I paid for it at Home Depot. I ordered it on line and it was delivered within 5 days.

I've now only had this carpet cleaner for a few weeks but after 4 uses, I am already thrilled with its performance. I have purchased 3 different Bissell steam cleaners and have been mildly satisfied with how well they clean and less so about their quality of construction and longevity. While I don't yet know if this machine will last, I do know that it cleans extremely well and removes much more fluid when it extracts. It also seems like a much simpler design that doesn't necessarily have all the bells and whistles that were seldom used like the water to cleaner ratio and multitude of cleaning attachments. It also works great when used for cleaning upholstery . Based on how much better this item has performed, I would never go back to Bissell.

This machine cleaners so well I am more than a little pleased! I was concerned if it would be to hard to use because the picture made it look big , it's not hard at all. I have a 10 year dog and a puppy so I'm always looking for "accidents". I had a spot than never came out will , I thought I try it with my new RD machine wow it took it out! I have had a lot of carpet cleaners and never really like how the cleaned .

Very easy to use! Ready to use right out of the box! Cleaned our carpet so well that it looks like new again! I love the fact that it has a separate clean and dirty water container. My last carpet cleaner didn't and the bladder fell through and I was cleaning my carpet with dirty water! It is also very easy to to clean up when your done.

Pros Easy to Use, Performs Well, Strong Suction, Good Size & Lightweight, Lots of Features, Nice Design Cons would have liked a retractable cord
