I love this stuff. I just rebuilt a 4x20 shed. I use the normal Behr deck/floor paint instead of the expensive garage floor paint with epoxy, mostly to save on money but for a wood shed floor, I don't need that kind of quality. After a coat of primer, I apply the first coat of floor paint, wait 24 hours, then apply the next thick coat. Every 4 feet or so, I apply the color chips, until the job is done. Wait 24 more hours and vacuum up the remnants. It looks great and and the most important thing, it hides the imperfections in the flooring material. Would definitely recommend using color chips on shed and garage floors. Well worth the time and few extra dollars.

For just a little work, you get amazing results!
After 14 years, it was finally time to tackle our garage project. We always had an idea of what we wanted to do, but now it was time to finalize our plans.
We knew a fancy, paint chip flecked, epoxied floor was a must. Being handy, we said let's do this ourselves. Now, don't hold me accountable if you follow our lead. We said in the event this doesn't work, looks awful, or gets lifted off, we said we'd be fine with it and just buy rubber mats to cover the massacre. But we didn't have to ...
First, it's winter. December in Chicago. Attached, but non heated garage. Highs in the 30s with lows in the teens. No humidity. No precipitation.
I thoroughly vacuumed the floor. Then came back with a rough nylon bristled brush and scrubbed the floor (no cleansers, no acid, no nothing). I made sure I really worked on areas with oil spots, etc. (some oil drips from old muscle cars). I even scrubbed with a wire brush over those spots. Vacuumed every inch again.
Then figured out where to start and move, so I ended up at the back door of the house.
I rolled on the base color, concrete floor paint (Rustoleum Battleship Gray) only working in small sections - as far as I could comfortably reach to spread the paint chips onto the wet paint.
We wanted a HEAVY chip look, so I just took a small handful of chips in my hand and shook my hand left and right spreading the chips like I was feeding chickens. You will 'feel' a certain pattern that should be consistent throughout the process. The paint had super low VOCs. With a 3.5 car garage and a heavy pattern, we went thru 9 bags. 6 bags were the initial spread onto wet floor paint while the additional 3 bags were used during epoxying. It wasn't suggested, but I had a suspicion that the paint chips would get lifted in the epoxy process. Being prepared, we rolled on the epoxy and as it lifted (and redistributed) the chips, we would gently toss more new chips on any 'naked' spots.
We plugged in a space heater. Floor was bare foot traffic ready after 24 hours. Shoe traffic ready after 36. Dolly, ladder, scaffold, and small wheel traffic after 96 hours. Vehicles at 1 week.
Looks friggin' great!
Thanks for sharing your experience! Rust-Oleum Decorative Chips cover about 250 square feet per bag. Coverage is dependent on how heavy, or how light, the chips are broadcast onto the coating. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 6

Very happy with how my floor turned out! I found a technique for dispersing chips in a small room on Youtube videos that worked very well. That was to throw the chips up and let them bounce off the ceiling, or at walls from a close distance so they bounce back, and spread onto the floor. This gave an even spread to them. If you find any areas not covered well enough, you can mix chips with clear coat to fill those areas in.
