Great Results!
After reading the literature about how this product works, I decided to buy it through Home Depot. This product had to be ordered and I waited about two weeks. Application was very easy as long as you have the applicator that is recommended. The applicator was difficult to find I needed to go to a different Home Depot in a different state to find one. The product covers more area than the can suggests. 2 gallons covered about 300 ft. which is what my patio is. Very pleased with the results. Love the texture. Follow directions carefully. Highly recommended. Color looks unbelievably great.

    Great look and coverage
I was little hesitant to use this paint on my porch but I took a risk and I'm glad I did it. It looks absolutely amazing. The coverage is great, even, and definitely not boring. My porch looks brand new. This is definitely not your average paint. It's gritty and requires special roller and advanced preparation of the surface to be painted, but it's totally worth it. I washed my porch first with the Rustoleum clean and etch solution and let it dry for 24 hours before applying this paint. I used two gallons and almost run out before I could finish an entire porch so make sure to order an extra gallon as this paint goes on thicker than a regular paint. I have included the pictures of my porch. This is for the Sunset color.

This product suggest using their special foam roller. I found using a heavy paint brush worked well. Buy more than you thank you need, shake can well, and apply two coats.

        Looks Great!
I was worried about using this coating because its hard to tell if you will like it when its done. I can say that I'm very happy I used it and I think it has greatly improved the look of my back patio. I would recommend following the instructions carefully. I swept off the patio first, then applied the specific cleaner from the instructions (Concrete Etch and Cleaner). After it dried completely I applied the first coat, waited until the next day, then applied the second coat. I used the specific foam roller stated in the instructions. It goes on similar to paint, but you are more spreading it than painting it on. The roller doesn't really pick it up like a paint roller does. It works best to pour some onto the concrete, then spread it evenly with the roller, working in small sections. It took me a little bit to get the hang of it so that I spread it evenly. Personally, I thought the texture was a little too rough from the roller by itself. So what I did was lightly drag a paintbrush over the surface right after I rolled each section and I was very happy with the results. See the picture to note the difference it made. Overall, I am extremely happy with how easy it was to apply and how good it looks. It made a HUGE improvement in how the patio looks.

        Fabulous!!!!!!
This decorative concrete coating is incredible. I used it on my screened in front porch floor that was plain pored concrete with paint spots and discoloring--an embarrassment. As it was it was always hard to keep swept and clean looking. Now it's gorgeous, easy to clean and easy to sweep. The concrete needs to be etched prior to applying the coating. Reading through the application directions was a bit scary and after applying the first coat, before it dried, I wasn't so sure I was going to like the result. After a couple of hours I looked at the porch-----------gorgeous! Exactly what I wanted. The slate color I chose is a nice color. The coating has specks of darker colors in it, kind of like grains of sand, which gives it a more natural look as well as keeps the surface from becoming slick, which would be dangerous when wet. The coating is not thankfully, glossy. It looks like a professional finish. The actual application of both the first and second coats was not difficult, as I had initially feared. The product is very easy to clean up. You do have to use a special roller cover that's sort of like a heavy duty foam rubber, but since it doesn't absorb the coating it was super easy to spray off with the hose. My only negative to this product is that it's expensive, at least to me. For that reason, I would be limited to how many places I would use it, as wonderful as it is. I've included two pictures--one showing a portion of the floor and another showing the floor coated and the walkway not coated.

        Great refresh for concrete surfaces
Don't forget to clean your concrete surfaces with Rustoleum Concrete Etch and Cleaner, or the decorative coating will not adhere well and begin to crack or flake after a short time. Also remember to use the special foam roller over larger areas. For edging and smaller areas i found a poly brush and thick coats provided a seamless match to the rolled areas. The paint needs to be mixed very well so the color flecks are evenly distributed in the medium. Also, work in small sections or the color flecks will clump when the coating gets tacky and you'll have lumps and bumps in your finish. Otherwise, it was easy to work with and dries quickly so you don't have to wait long at all to apply the required second coat. It looks great, and I'm very satisfied with this product.

        Great for updating your concrete
The paint is very thick and took some mixing to bring the color crystals to the top of the paint. For my test block, I decided to put on a thicker coat, which can be seen in the "waves" in the picture when the paint was wet. The color crystals emerge as the paint dries. Once dried, the paint provided a nice texture with an attractive mixture of colors. Be sure to purchase the special roller required and mix the paint well before using. This would be perfect for updating concrete pavers or any worn concrete surface. Would be a perfect addition to a cracked patio. Once patched, the thickness and texture would cover over a multitude of blemishes and have it looking like new. Definitely worth a try!

        Excellent for resurfacing a basement
Using two gallons I completed a 20 foot X 15 feet area of the basement. Swept and cleaned the area using etching and used the supplied roller. It went on smooth without any difficulties. It dried overnight and in the morning the concrete which is over 50 years old and has suffered more spillages than I care to remember, looked like new again. After a week there is no sign whatsoever of the layer being anything other than the manufacturers claims of being permanent. A nice smooth concrete finish. It adhered without any problems to the old concrete and just to make sure, I hit an overlap several times with a hammer and although the piece of concrete did eventually shatter, the bottom layer did not come away from the original surface, hence confirming the great adhesion. More than happy to recommend this product.

        Awesome product very nice coverage
Yes, this Rustoleum Decorative Concrete Coating makes my basic cement patio look high end. Applying the blob of product as it slid out of the container was a bit challenging. You, must get the special roller pad for this. It must be a special material because it did not tear or rip when rolling. I figured out towards the end that you ought to lay out your product about 2' apart from your painted line and roller as if pushing the stuff to reach your previous application. Seemed it help with covering every spot. I had some left over "Prism Flecks" for Auto use that I had reviewed last year. It adds a different touch to my patio, when the sun hits it. Rusoleum did not approve or disapprove to add flecks

That is not what we like to hear! Rust-Oleum Decorative Concrete Coating is a ready to use formula that offers superior protection against water and the elements, is extremely durable and wear-resistant, and has the added protective benefit of NeverWet properties. Pour a small amount of product directly onto the surface. Apply in 4x4 foot sections and back roll in the opposite direction to ensure a thin, even coat. Maintain a wet edge to prevent lap marks and gloss variations. Roll slowly and apply light pressure. Two coats are required for optimal coverage and durability.

It is not easy to apply. Even though the contractor was very careful, still some lines can be seen. There are small imperfections, that look like divots, in the floor where the material did not stick. The finished product, although it looks good, does not hold up. It nicks and scratches very easily, leaving a whitish discolored area. It is very expensive for what you end up with. The contractor did mix all the cans, but some of them were not completely full and some were a different shade of red than the others.

This is a great product. You do need a concrete paint roller as it is thick. I put on two coats and my outdoor concrete bar looks fantastic. Nice color and the texture makes it look better than flat paint.

Don’t waste your time or money
This product is total garbage. First when intermixing two gallons to maintain color consistency, two gallons somehow becomes one and a half gallons. I did all the prep exactly as required. Yet this product will simply not apply evenly. It gets clumped up on the special roller and I literally had to scrape and sweep clumps away as I was applying it. This it takes at least twice as much product and the coverage is simply horrible and uneven. Hugely disappointed.

That's odd! With proper application, each gallon of Rust-Oleum Decorative Concrete Coating will have a recommended coverage of 60 square feet per coat. Two coats are needed for full coverage as well. Make sure to apply only when air, material, and surface temperatures are between 50-90ºF (10-32ºC) and the relative humidity is below 85%.

I was very disappointed that we could not get the same paint as 5 years ago. It came in 5 gallon cans. Your new paint did not match the old paint we used. Because the color that you call "brick" ends up brownish pink. Not the red brick. We had to try and match it. The clerk tried to match it but it turned out orangey and is real shiney and not as grainy as the original. We used the Restore gallons..... I am disappointed. Don't know why you needed to change it.I had to settle for the new mixed one but not happy.

We appreciate your feedback, Bonnie! Please keep in mind that it may be difficult to match an existing older coating due to the weathering and fading the original coating. Rust-Oleum Decorative Concrete Coating is different than the Restore line. If looking for a product closer to that line, we recommend the Rust-Oleum RockSolid Deck in One Day line. The 20X Deck Resurfacer will have the textured finish.

This paint is very expensive and in addition to the paint you need a special roller that costs $13+. After one coat I can still see the previous paint through it as though I've not even painted. The colors are the same. About all this paint is doing is putting tiny white and black specks on the floor. If this covers at all it will need at least 4 coats or more. Three cans of paint for a cost of almost $200 for a rather small basement. Maybe if you have a brand new, completely smooth floor this might work. By the way, I did all the prep work required for this job. The paint and special roller are horrible!

I applied it according to the instructions and it went well! For a novice, I am well pleased because the outcome looks like a professional did it. Now, if only the mildew will not get on it. I did mix anti-mildew solution for paint in hopes that will solve that problem. My patio has 126 square feet to paint, so I played it safe and got 4 gallons. But, I didn't need all that. I had more than a gallon left over even after putting two coats on it. It spread and covered better than I had been led to believe after reading so many of the reviews. I am very pleased and so glad I made this choice.
