Bubbles when using a roller
When using a brush it goes on nice. But when I switched to a roller to finish the walls it left bubbles like crazy. tried different rollers the shortest knap worked best. But I ended up using the roller just to get it on the wall then smoothing out the bubbles with a brush . But still can see where the wet edges are. Spent a lot of hours doing a good job painting only to have the clear coat make it look like crap. I've painted a lot of rooms with Valspar's clear coat with no problems , but unfortunately they don't make it anymore.

We want to try to help! When rolling Rust-Oleum Protective Topcoat, we recommend using a good-quality 1/4" nap roller. When rolling, you don't want to roll too fast or over work the coating. If bubbles appear in the coating after mixing or stirring, we do recommend allowing it to sit for a few minutes to allow the bubbles to dissipate before coating.

I love this clear coat. It goes one so nicely....
I love this clear coat. It goes one so nicely. My only frustration was not boing able to locate a second can be in my area. I used it over the Rust-Oleum milk paint. Highly recommend.

Difficult to apply
I've used a variety of products and this one has proven one of the most difficult to work with, both with a roller or a brush. Streaks easily, bubbles(I did NOT shake the mix, stirred it gently) and just doesn't cover evenly. Definitely won't be purchasing again.

That is not what we like to hear! Our Rust-Oleum Satin Clear Protective Wall Topcoat should apply easily using a good-quality brush, or 1/4" nap roller. If bubbles are developing on the surface during the application, the coating may be getting overworked, either by brushing or rolling back and forth too much over the surface. We recommend using light, even strokes to ensure an even flow and the smoothest finish. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 2

Very hard to apply. Thin and runny. Streaks down with...
Very hard to apply. Thin and runny. Streaks down with even thin application. Dries ok. But be mindful while applying. Less is better if you don’t want to mess up your whole project. Will just have to do a couple coats.

Thank you for your feedback, Brittney! For the best results, Rust-Oleum Protective Wall Topcoat must be applied with a good quality synthetic brush or a 1/4” nap roller. You want to ensure you are avoiding excessive brushing during application as well. This product can also be sprayed if desired.
