Not enough!!!
Had to go back to HD and buy a second 2.5car kit because I had 50sqft left of my 2 car garage! Rustoleum doesn’t make a 1.5car of the dark grey color. So now I’m out $180 for 5% of a kit. It looks great but it’s frustrating.

Bad Batch!! Did not fully cure!
I purchased this product along with an extra clear coat. I pressure washed, scrubbed and etched the garage floor as the instructions say to do, I allowed the floor 24 hours to fully dry, made sure everything was mixed-in completely before I poured the paint into a clean bucket. I applied the paint to the garage floor uniformly so the paint would not look patchy in certain areas. After 1 week, the paint has not cured and sticks in several areas, flakes do not stick properly. Very disappointed!

Didn’t last a year after 5 days of prep
I spent 5 days washing my garage floor probably over 20 times, then de-greasing and then etching and washed the floor like 8 times to get rid of all the remaining etch and waited 2 days for it to dry with a fan. It looked beautiful until 9 months later. There are cracks in the epoxy that just started forming and parts have came off the floor. This is going to be a mess and I spent $800 and 5 full days of prep work. Do not buy this product, the manufacturer will probably blame me for the prep.

        easy application
While the application was easy, the prep work was tough but worth it. It took me about 4 days all together to degrease, clean, etch and fill holes. But the actual application of the floor paint and the decorative chips took me less than an hour to do by myself. I wouldn’t recommend doing by yourself, but I was able to do my 1-car garage by myself. I just made sure to buy those spiky shoe covers that allowed me to walk on the floors while it was still wet and get the job done!

Purchased Bad Batch - use at your own risk
I was really excited, but it turned out awful. I acid etched my new concrete twice, it was completely dry, I knew how important prep was for this product so I went way overboard. I followed the instructions precisely. Complaint 1: The paint flecks do not react displace leaving floor extremely rough Complaint 2: spots in picture will not cure and are stick after 2 weeks, applied clear coat that went over also will not cure on these spots.

Love the outcome of my garage floor
I love how the product made a 25 year old garage floor look brand new. As long as you follow the instructions 100%, the results will be amazing.

                Doesn’t turn out right
He hired a professional to install the epoxy. It’s a fairly new house (about 2 years old). Had it washed, degreased and etched as instructed. Turned out horribly

Thank you for reaching out and sharing your experinece, Rosie! To ensure the best finish, the concrete needs to be allowed to fully dry after prepping. More porous concrete can also cause an uneven finish with Rust-Oleum EpoxyShield Garage Floor Coating. Applying a second coat can help correct the appearance. For further assistance, please give us a call at 888-683-5667 to talk with us.

2.5 Car kit definitely covers 2 car garage
Everything went according to plan and came out looking great. Time will tell if it lasts. One thing I’ll note is that the 2.5gallon kit definitely covers a 2 car garage. I read a bunch of reviews saying to buy an extra 1 car and mix in from the start so color is uniform so I did. Huge waste of money I was left with enough epoxy to probably epoxy a whole other 2 car garage. And I did it thick

Worked out great. Does show the imperfections in the concrete but it makes cleaning up so much easier. Also I bought way more than I needed. Each kit said 400-500 square feet or 2 1/2 car garage. I did a 30x70 shop with two kits. My concrete was smooth not a course texture so may be a difference but was surprised the kits covered so well. Plus it saved me several $$

There are a few issues that aren't mentioned in the instructions or the how to videos. The first issue is the cleaner degreaser. It's not especially strong and could be better. The second issue is the instructions mentions after each section is etched rinse and once all sections are rinsed, rinse the entire floor once more. I rinsed my floor 4 more times and it still didn't remove the acid residue. The next morning I noticed the residue and how dirty my floor was after cleaning, degreasing and etching. So I decided to put my pressure washer to work. I have a surface cleaner attachment and it removed the dirt and residue. The third issue I had was there was no mention in the instructions about having a gritty floor after etching and rinsing. The etching process is supposed to rough up the floor so that the paint will adhere to it. After the second day of rinsing I found the floor was full of sand. So I swept the floor really good and then vacuumed it again to make sure I got it all. Nowhere was this ever mentioned. The last thing you want is to have all that grit in you paint. Rust-oleum needs to add a step of two. Check out the image below. I hope this helps.

This is Dark Grey with Clear
If your looking at the reviews you are considering, I won't write out the steps, I will however tell you the following 2.5 car is plenty enough we did a 2 car garage with one bag, Careful on the sprinkles (saw someone use a seed spreader), Adding the clear coat takes it from ok to something you will be proud of dont scrimp, clear coat will cover the same space but you have to work alot harder... I guarantee if you roll it on like you do the color you will need at least 2 boxes and thats not nescessary

                      dark gray
This is a great color to help hide blemishes and i was able to use this one kit for my entire 2 car garage. For some reason its impossible to find a 1 car kit in this color. I was dreading the possibility of needing to buy two 2.5 car kits. The workable time is short so you do need to work fast yet cautious.

Let's talk about this! Prior to applying Rust-Oleum EpoxyShield Garage Floor Coating, you want to ensure that any cracks or chips are repaired and filled in. This will ensure a smooth finish, as this product is not intended to be a filler product.

How did it go so wrong!
I am not a professional painter by any means, however I have painted my entire 1800 sqft house over the past years and I’ve never had a bad experience with painting until now. The instructions are very easy to follow, the prep work is crucial which is why I made sure to scrape, clean and apply the acid before applying the mixture. Two weeks later I’m unboxing items with tape that stick to the floor and after I remove the tape the whole paint peels. Complete waste of time and terrible experience.

That's not what we expect to hear, Ricky! Prior to applying Rust-Oleum EpoxyShield Garage Floor Coating, you want to ensure that you are also performing a moisture and a splash test on the surface to test for a sealer. We do want to hear more about your application to gather more details to troubleshoot this further and try to make things right with you. Won’t Dry
I followed the directions exactly, several days of prep. I mixed and mixed in the bag and then when I rolled it out there, it left sections of numerous dime sized or smaller spots that are raised and just won’t dry. It’s now been a week since application and still won’t dry. For all the work, prep and waiting for the perfect temperature, humidity to apply it along with it not being cheap, I would not recommend.

After two weeks already started fading/peeling off
Spent over $1100 on materials, followed all instructions to a tee, took 6 days to put everything on (clean, etch, epoxy, clear coat, etc), and then waited another 8 days before driving on it. It looked great at first, but after only a couple of days driving into the garage, it is already fading/showing tire marks. Would not recommend, especially considering the cost and time it took.

Lasted 1 month before Hot tire peeled off
Prepped everything as per instructions even over prepped it vigorously with all products as per Youtube, reviews, etc Applied it and looks great with heavy flakes. As per reviews I bought 2 boxes of the 2.5 garage kits for my 2 car garage. So it went on nice and thick. Even applied the clear coat on top. Which made it look shiny and protects the flakes. 1 month later it peeled right off parking my car in the garage. “No hot tire pickup” is a complete BS!!! Literally peeled right up pulling car out of the garage. I had to cover peeled spots up with concrete patch and now Im afraid to park my car in the garage. Spent $800+ on 2 kits, supplies, tools, cleaners, degreasers, flakes, and 5 days of my time. Total waste of money and time.

                                  Great product for DIY
Bought this from FB market place for half the price .most of the effort is to clean garage floor multiple times . I have 2car garage 450 sq ft . The product we applied little thin initially but it is more than enough for 450 sq ft area. We added anti skid as my kids mostly play in garage and it took only 1.5 hrs to apply epoxy with flakes . I live in Florida and it rained after 24 hrs but no issues

                                    Not for heavy use
Put this down on our brand new garage floor 5yrs ago. My husband is a mechanic, does side work at the house, our floor has seen every possible automotive fluid and has large patches of epoxy eroded away, slick in places. Might work for the average garage but not for real use. Also, recommend mixing batches together during application for even color.

Let's talk about this! While Rust-Oleum EpoxyShield Garage Floor Coating will protect against gasoline, antifreeze, and motor oil, we still do recommend cleaning up any spills on the surface as soon as possible. Other fluids may be more solvent heavy, and care should be taken to avoid extended exposure to these.

                                      This works well.
If I had read the reviews here before use I probably would have passed on So many postings about it not sticking. It comes with some acetic acid powder, to mix with water, to prepare the floor. Are people not using it?! I've had no problems what-so-ever on 4 garages. I sweep the floor, I degrease spots that have oil/grease, I use the acetic acid powder in a bucket of water and sweep that around, RINSE, LET DRY OVERNIGHT, and it sticks like the glue that it is. It is epoxy after all.

                                          My gray turned blue
I purchased the gloss gray 2 and 1/2 car kit for my garage. I did 1 side at a time according to directions provided. When the first side was complete it was gray, when finished with both sides it had turned blue. Why is that? Color isn’t a big deal but I am curious as to why that happened. I just hope it holds up. I would appreciate your response. Thanks

                                            Color didn’t match
I finished my 2 and 1/2 car garage a few days ago having to do 1 side at a time. It took about a week to complete the job with the drying time. Was very easy to do with most of the time spent on preparation. Only problem is each side is a slightly different color. It doesn’t make a big difference to me but I wish it would have matched perfect considering the amount of work involved. It is a garage floor. I will be happy if it holds up well.

I have been using this product for years and never had any problems. I have been reading the reviews and see a lot of people that have problems with the color match. I hope the company has resolved this issue. The other problems I see people having I think is because prep. Having a good prep. before painting is a big deal and have to do a lot with the final look of the job.

Two car garage box came with two different colors
I spent a lot of time following all of the steps and instructions for prep and through the entire process. I made sure I did things perfectly. It was really disappointing to find that within the same box for the two car garage kit there were two different paint colors. You can see in my picture which looks worse in person there are two different colors where the second batch of mixture started to be used. :(

We need to know more to get to the bottom of this Audrey. Rust-Oleum EpoxyShield 2.5 Car Garage Floor Kits contains two easy burst pouches. On one side of each pouch is the pigment (color) on the other side is the activator. When the pouch is mixed, it is very important to thoroughly mix the material by shaking the pouch back and forth and squeezing the edges and corners for 2-3 minutes. All this mixing ensures the pigment is properly dispersed in the pouch and will result in consistent color from pouch to pouch.
