As long as you follow all of the directions and invest time in your prep these kits works like a charm. Looks every bit as good as a professional job and for a fraction of the price. I highly recommend finishing it off with the clear coat kit. Seals in the paint chips, gives the floor a nice consistent shine, and adds another layer of durability. Also comes with the anti skid additive if youre concerned about the floor being too slippery.

Originally I hadn’t planned on using this topcoat, but I am so glad that I did. It really made my laundry room floor go from great to WOW! The epoxy made some uneven spots of the floor blend so nicely.
For my project I used Rustoleum Garage and Basement floor primer, 2 coats of the Rustoleum Expoyshield Satin Limestone Basement Floor Coating kit (the kit said most only need 1 coat, but I did 2 for even coverage and I’m thankful for it) and 1 coat of this epoxy kit.
Some helpful hints:
1) Read the instructions and follow them!
2) Only mix one pouch at a time. More than one will create too much heat and the epoxy will generate too much heat and harden too fast (in the bucket before it gets on the floor fast).
3) This epoxy goes on thick. Roll, roll, roll and roll a little more. Even with that being said, but more kits than you think you’ll need just in case. You can always return what you don’t use.
4) The epoxy takes a bit longer to harden than what the instructions say. The extended harden time is likely due to the temps/humidity in my basement being on the lower side. Once it’s put down, I would give it a full 48 hours before light traffic even. That way you’re not worried about shoe prints, etc. I’d also wait a full week before moving anything on to it, like washer and dryer.
5) I did not use the anti-skid adhesive. With that being said, just be extra careful walking on it when it’s wet or when your shoes are wet.

Consistent coverage is a challenge
Did all the prep as suggested. After the epoxy dried you can start to see where it’s thinner in spots but due to the flakes you really can’t go over it again. The flakes are hard to proportion. If you start thin then you find that you go heavier at the end because you have so many left but if you start heavier then you may run out. It’s all just a fussing game. The clear coat at the end was very difficult. I completed the floor and the next day I opened the garage door and seen every brush line and several spots that I missed all together. It was so bad I went and purchased another clear to fill in spots and that made it worse. Now I have reall heavy spots and still spots that was missed completely. You can’t see the clear go down with the door closed and you want it closed so leaves and stuff don’t blow into the garage. Not happy with this result in my brand new house

Difference in pouches
I did all the recommended preparation according to the instructions but at the end result of my floor I can see a huge difference from where I used one pouch to the next. One is glossy like it should be and the other looks almost flat. Besides sanding the floor and starting over, I don’t know what to do

Great end result but you'll need a lot of clear coat
I combined my review of clear coat with the Epoxy review.
Disclaimer 1: This was my first Garage Epoxy job . Very experienced painter but using invisible product was a first for me.
Disclaimer 2: I laid down a heavy amount of decorative flakes which probably contributed to needing so much clear coat.
So...I am very happy with the end result, looks great. That said the true test will be after I park on it with "hot tires". Lifting away will change my tune. But for now very happy.
I got great coverage with the grey epoxy. I had a small kit standing as I had a 550' space plus I used it to paint the trim . So I thought for sure I'd need some of it. I didn't go thin I put down as much as I thought was needed to cover then I back rolled. I had a tad bit left over and got to return the small kit.
But....the clear coat was a totally different story. I went through three 90 oz kits. Admittedly I probably only needed 3/4 of the final kit but still thats three kits for a 550 sqft garage.
I'm sure after I did 10 of these I'd get better and use less and maybe if I didn't have the heavy flakes I'd have used less. But...almost all of us buying this product haven't done this job alot. I'd recommend having extra on hand just in case. It's easy to return the un opened product. Good Luck!

Beautiful results, Easy to Apply, Great Value!
I have a concrete floor basement that still had some paint spots and caulk residue from my home’s construction 8 years ago. The space will become my own workshop, so having a nice floor is important to me, especially after I have added bright LED lighting, pegboard and wallboard. The preparation was the hardest part: cleaning the floor, scraping paint in a few spots, then the acid etch (supplied in the kit). Once I squeegeed off the etch, I let it dry and found the whole floor had a powdery residue left behind. We washed it again, squeegeed with a towel stretched over my push broom, and let it dry overnight. The 2nd wash did the trick: no residue.
I had a total of 230 sq ft to cover, and I was worried from other reviews that said to buy more than you need. For me, 1 of the 2 included kits was just enough. We completed this in one weekend: Saturday for the prep and 2 washes, Sunday for the paint. Prep took about 4 hours plus dry time, paint took 2 hours for 1 kit (1 car garage size, 230 square feet for me).
I did notice that concrete cracks aren’t filled in by this, nor are expansion joints. The flakes are a nice way to break up the clean, tan color (I used tan, grey is also available). The flakes help distract your eye from any concrete cracks, but you might want to fill any cracks you have before applying this, using any of the patch material available at Home Depot.
The fumes were minimal: just a noticeable mild odor for the etch, and slight odor for the epoxy itself. I recommend this floor treatment: just look at the before and after photo!

Absolute garbage
It says this will cover 500 sq ft, but it would not even cover the 300 sq ft I have. I was skeptical on the size of the box at first and I was right. I just put this down on my concrete floor after scrubbing and etching until my back broke and then i put this epoxy down and it looks like absolute garbage. I'll probably have to end up putting down vinyl plank flooring on top of this as it looks like dog poo right now. Do not buy. I think they even went up on the price of this dog poo because I see reviews online saying people only paid $70 for this and I paid $117.

Oh no, this is not what we like to hear Brian! Rust-Oleum EpoxyShield Garage Floor Coating 2.5 Car Kit covers up to 450-500 sq. ft. per kit. Concrete is a porous surface with porosity varying from floor to floor. The more porous the concrete means more of whatever is being applied to the concrete will absorb and bond, this will reduce coverage. Not consistent
Bought 2 boxes of the 2 1/2 car tan epoxy kits. Cleaned and prepped floor that was only 3months old. The first kit rolled out nice thick with a high gloss. Got to the second kit and the first bag of epoxy came out very thin and watery. Went through all the directions as written. Went on and applied it to the concrete in Hope's it would be ok. It looks flat in sheen compared the other box. No texture to it, plastic flakes seem to sit on top of it not settled like other box. After dried has a very thin look. Had both boxes been the quality of the first box I used I would rate this a 10. Have contacted Rustoleum, and waiting on a decision from them. Will give 2 images first of the good product and second the one that has issues. Thank you

We need to know more to get to the bottom of this Bill! Rust-Oleum EpoxyShield 2.5 Car Garage Floor Kits contain two easy burst pouches. On one side of each pouch is the pigment (color) on the other side is the activator. When the pouch is mixed it is very important to thoroughly mix the material by shaking the pouch back and forth and squeezing the edges and corners for 2-3 minutes. All this mixing ensures the pigment is properly dispersed in the pouch and will result in consistent color from pouch to pouch. Please give us a call at 888-683-5667 so we can hear more about your application and try to make things right. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 6

Looks great...
Let me start by saying I when to rustoleumepoxy website and submitted my concern and no response.
Now I'm writing my review I prep my garage for 2 days and did the humidity test to make sure it was all ready to go. I applied it on Monday and left it to dry at 80° weather till Friday afternoon I pull my car in and leave it for the weekend. I have it 5 days to dry instead of 3. Move the car Sunday evening and the paint peels off like cake. All I'm asking is for some extra epoxy to fix the 4 squares . No response from the company and they have all my information to email or call me. Anyone doing this make sure give it min 6 days to dry and I have a heated garage as well .

Part of the ground stayed sticky
Super disappointed in this product. My parents had this Done in their garage 10+ years ago and it was perfect. My dad did it in our garage as he has done for several others and it was all good except some parts of the flooring didn’t dry and other parts are peeling up. We thought it was odd so we let it sit for a week just in case to give extra drying time. 2 weeks later and it’s a mess. We had the ground cleaned and prepped properly but still have a huge problem. Don’t know what to do at this point because we paid good money and we use our garage a lot.

That doesn't sound right! If the Rust-Oleum EpoxyShield Garage Floor Coating is not adhering or drying well, then there is contamination on the surface that is preventing it from doing so. Easy to apply
Seems a daunting task but it was easy to apply.
Choose a day that is less than 50% humidity & the following day, open all doors (Good ventilation) as the odor is strong. A bit hard to track where you put the coat since it’s a clear coat (used your paint tray as a mark).
Planning to let it cure for a good 2-3 weeks even though it says you can park your car in 3 days.

1 Car Garage Kit Did Not Cover 1 Car Garage Floor
I applied the product following the instructions to the letter. At about 30% completion, I started thinking the kit would not be enough product to finish, but double checked that I got the 1 Car Kit vs a shed or otherwise smaller kit. At around 65% complete, I ran out. I've emailed Rustoleum and expect either a refund (so I can buy more) or replacement. I am still worried that it will be obvious that I had to do the project in 2 phases, though, since their directions say to always maintain a wet edge and now the edge is dry. If that happens, I will require a full refund. If they hold up their guarantee, I will update my review. The part that is complete looks great at least, but now I get to do it all again and keep my car outside even longer. Not happy!

Good but follow instructions
Great product. Bought dark gray and looks great. Only issue is that I highly recommend 2 coats. If you do 1, and put speckles on you cannot do a second coat. If I had waited, and then done 2nd coat I can tell it would have looked incredible. I am going to go back to Home Depot and see if a poly top coat will blend shine and make it look more even.
Ps - Also, for speckles, use an old Parmesan Cheese can. Makes even spreading simple and distributed perfectly.

Watch the videos on YouTube if you can. They're quite helpful. The printed directions were fine but the videos were demonstrative.
I found the flecks really difficult to toss spread out, hoping some of the clumped areas break off. The person tossing shouldn't be the one painting, you get paint on your flecks AMD they stick, making it even harder to toss.

Our EpoxyShield Garage Floor Kits are not designed to fill or cover cracks in the concrete surface. Prior to applying the epoxy, cracks must be filled using a crack filler, such as our Rust-Oleum Concrete Patch & Repair Kit: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Rust-Oleum-24-oz-Concrete-Patch-and-Repair-Kit-301012/206495775 - Rust-Oleum Product Support 2

Part 2 of my review submitted-color mismatch
Well-putting in my review comments would not save-so I surmised comments were too long. So I removed this and it saved it-so this is part 2 of info you need to do this right:
1. If your floor is very smooth, you may get the coverage indicated. But if it's porous (and if you etch and grind it will be) then it will not look like a showroom floor if you do one coat only.
2. Your spending a lot of time doing this, so spring for the 2nd kit to do a 2nd coat at minimum.
3. If you want it to look it's best, then plan to do clear coat over the chips.
I have a 700 sqft shop I bought this for. The concrete was poured a month ago and is clean, but I used the etching and powerwashed it to try to even out the trowell marks on the 'fines' that the concrete guy left. I bought 3 kits plus 2 clear kits and bought extra chips in silver to go with the tan kit chips that came with it. I want to do heavier chips than it comes with to hide the imperfections of seams I caulked and the poor finishing job the concrete guy did.
So I spent around 700.00. Well worth it if I get the rsult I wanted.
It seemed like the factory did not clean the machine from grey when switching to the tan color! Look at the photo on how gray this is.

No repair kit
Product seems to work well. I just put it on. However, I missed a spot and they do not offer a repair kit. When I called rustoleum they said I’d need to buy another package. This spot I missed is like a foot long and 2 inches wide. I’m just going to leave it alone but disappointed to do all that work and not have a repair option that’s affordable.

Different colors in the two pouches within a single kit
I bought the 2.5 garage kit and there was a lot of color. I was almost about to get 3/4 of the garage covered from the first batch. Then I mixed up the second batch of the color and the color is so different. We can clearly see the difference in the two batches. Now I am left with the patchy looking garage. I have already sprinkled color flakes on top of it. I am wondering if there is anything I can apply on top of it to even out the surface. Please advice. It is really disappointing to see a patchy garage after so much work that went into cleaning the garage and then applying the paint all over it. There wasn't even much difference in the time between the two batches of work we did. We applied one after the other. I am thinking if it is okay for me to apply another coat on top even though I've already put flakes on top of it. It has only been 24 hours since we applied the first coat. Please help.

Let's talk about this, Dave! Two-part epoxies, such as Rust-Oleum EpoxyShield Garage Floor Coating, are dependent on temperature and humidity. Differences in these during application can affect the final color. It is also essential that the product is mixed properly before use and allowed to sit as directed prior to application. - Rust-Oleum Product Support 3
