This paint looks good in the can, but do not be deceived. I bought two of these cans two and a half weeks ago to paint a pine book case I was making. The paint does not cover in one application. If you try to put on a second coat it beads up leaving voids

This paint is a nightmare to use. It went on thin and then dripped. So far I have put on two coats and it isn’t covering at all.

Without a primer this paint covered in two coats. The first coat dried to a slight sheen. The second took it a lot closer to flat black. Make sure to mix well prior to each use as it tends to separate quickly. Wet it has the appearance of an indigo blue which is great when applying the second coat as reveals any missed spots. Drys quick even in the humid south and looks nice as it broadcast the grain of the wood. My only concern is that is not truly flat black.

I am not new to painting. I have painted many projects and interiors in my life. First of all, I almost returned it because my dark brown was purple. But then discovered Tiny print stating this is normal and would dry brown. I sanded my project. I coated with primer. The next day I applied this crap. As I painted it thickened and clumped together, it wouldn't spread. I tried so hard to do a thin coat so it wouldn't be thick but it just got worse. Then, as I painted a small 1 foot by 2.5 foot area, I started to go back over areas I that had not been completely covered by my first stroke (no more than 10 seconds after the initial stroke) and it LIFTED the first layer up. I did use generic primer to save money because it's just primer. But it behaved like drying oil based paint. It absolutely wrecked my project.

This product covered my bathroom cabinets beautifully! It has just enough sheen to stand out but not yelling, "I'm shining." Years earlier, I varnished these cabinets. The cabinets took the new paint very well after only very light sanding and cleaning with TSP. So far, it has proven to be very durable. Gullah

Nice touch, dry fast

I used this product (white color) to cover a patio set for heavy wicker furniture that was stained with dark and black areas from being out in the weather. It was the original the standard light brown color. I tried the spray paint first on 1 small piece but found it much harder to cover and do the small piece as it took numerous sweeps to cover. After switching to the canned paint, gloss finish, and using a regular paint brush I was really pleased at how fully and easily covered the wicker furniture. Looks brand new! The canned paint was much less expensive than the spray cans and was very easy to apply a single coat to get the job done. Cleanup was a snap as all that takes to clean the brush was soap and water. Awesome product, excellent coverage and inexpensive to use.

This is for the side of my garage, love it. Not finish this is an old garage just trying to made it look better.

This paint is great. We used it to create a black board for my grandsons.

The can was marked Flat Black on the label and on the bottom. It was machine-shaken at the store with a mixed quart I was also buying. When I opened the Rust-Oleum can two days later, the color was bright true blue. When I returned the paint to HD I advised the paint counter attendant of the color issue. They advised me that the pigments separate quickly with some Rust-Oleum colors. The HD employee then shook the paint can for another two minutes and it turned a dark blue. When the paint did dry on a store sample it looked Flat Black as the can indicated,

I bought this to cover a small nightstand. I sanded and touched up with wood filler in a few tiny spots. After 4 coats because I could still see unpainted streaks, it still looked like it needed a 5th coat. The wetter areas were shinier than the dry. You could see uneven areas. I’m going to have to buy another kind of paint now hopefully with better coverage. This pic has been drying 24 hours

I refinished my bathroom vanity and wondered if it was going to be a transparent stain or if I needed to paint till complete coverage. Although it was similar to a transparent stain in coverage, it left brush marks with uneven coverage so that told me that I needed to keep coating for complete coverage which is what I had planned anyway. Everyone has loved the final finish. It brought a lot of class to the bathroom. The only thing I cannot comment on yet is the durability as it's only been two weeks. I hope it holds up although touchups would be easy enough.

This paint was great. It covered well. The paint was a semi- gloss finish as opposed to the satin finish we usually purchase for our metal porch railing. We painted one half of the porch on Thursday . The look was fantastic it looked like a new railings.On Friday the mailman thought it was still wet but complimented on how clean it looked. 3 other neighbors had positive vibes about the finished project. This beats the oil based rustoleum we have used throughout the 10 plus years of maintaining the railing

I was so excited to finish my recent project. New to the process of redoing furniture I took the time to research and see what products i should use and what steps I had to take to successfully repaint a chair. I sanded and primed (I believe I used Zinsser Bulls Eye 123) and then painted with this Rustoleum Painters Touch flat black brush on paint. Looked great and was very happy with the results. Fast forward only 2 weeks and the paint is already off in some areas and bubbling up in others. The chair is outside, partially covered, but does get occasionally wet from rain. No less than 2 weeks on my front porch and I have to re do the entire project. So disappointed, it is my understanding that this paint can be used outdoors and without a protective top coat.

Worked great for some nightstands I refurbished. I used it on the top only.

I used this paint to spray a couple of front doors and it covered well and the color looks very sharp.

Love this paint it goes on easy and dries fast. Did bathroom vanity in expresso and outdoor furnishings in white, blue and yellow.

I've been using this product for years with most colors and top coat it with a clear very satisfied with it

Yes, I do recommend it. I use it on my door frames, especially, because with small grandchildren it wipes off dirt sooo very easy. But, I also use it for ceilings in areas with low light, such as a small walk-in closet or shower area. It gives a little extra radiance. Bonus: My daughter was helping me paint and she was putting it on thicker. I like it thicker, it gives it an appearance of old world charm. P.S. I wish it came in a gallon.

I needed to repaint a metal storage room door. It did the trick! Easy to work with.

This paint covers great, I used it to paint my kitchen cabinets and some order projects and it works great, I like the thick texture and easy to manage.

All Paints are not created equal. This is a poor quality paint, after sanding my cabinets and Appling Zinsser 1-2-3 Primer as directed. I used Rust-Oleum Painter's Touch, Ultra Cover. Paint Cracked BADLY as it dried. Requiring me to Remove all the paint AGAIN. See Photos. I didn't want to waste another 4 hours so I went to home depot and bought Behr Premium Paint and Primer in 1, The difference when applying was a noticeable improvement. When it dried no Cracking. So I wasted an additional 4 hours to re-sand and re-paint plus having to buy paint twice. Lessons Learned; Don't waste your money on an inferior paint just to save a couple of bucks. It's not worth it!

I used this paint to create a glitter wall and it worked perfectly.

I’m really disappointed. Have a wood night stand that I wanted to paint black and this color is not BLACK. it’s light. It’s so watery it drips down. This picture is two coats of paint and it’s streaky really upset.

I used this product twice now refinishing dressers for my kids. It covers nicely and dries really quick allowing for multiple coats in a lot less time than old style paints. Really like the black semi gloss finish. It also cleans out of the brush with hot water very easily. I was able to make my son's side table and dresser match his other bedroom furniture to the point it looks like a set that came that way. Great product. And inexpensive in my opinion.

This paint is not black it's navy blue. See example pictures compared to the black that was already on my stairs you can clearly see it's navy blue.

I really like this paint. This is the third time I have bought this same paint. I am redoing all the trim in my house. It goes on smooth, hides any imperfections & has a nice gloss to it. Bonnie
