I like the plastic bottle. My 1-year-old metal can of sanding sealer had rusted out, and this one won't. I turn cups, bowls, goblets, and mugs out of exotic wood on my home lathe and end up using lots of sanding sealer before coating with clear Danish oil.

Love it! Works great! Very hard to find...
Love it! Works great! Very hard to find find though. Is not available at every Home Depot by the gallon so I ended up having to drive out of the area to find it. Could not get it shipped to the store unless I bought multiple gallons which I found odd. Great product!

The water base makes it virtually odorless. It applies easily...
The water base makes it virtually odorless. It applies easily and dries quickly, 2 hours or so, and it is ready for another coat. The only complaint, because it is water base, it is thinner, and takes more coats to get a good finish. Don't sand too much between coats, or you will remove previous layers.

DRIES TOO QUICKLY AND UNEVEN
I used this on a refinished hard wood floor and it quickly got tacky and dried as I was applying, so that areas were thicker than others. After drying, there was an uneven tone to the floor and I didn't know what to do. Do I resand the whole floor down and start over or does the water based poly blend into the single coat of the sealer?

We appreciate your feedback, Rodney! Rust-Oleum Parks Pro-Finisher Water-Based Sanded Sealer needs to be applied with a synthetic pad or Universal Applicator. You also only want to apply when y when air and surface temperature is between 60°F and 80°F (10°C and 27°C). Do not apply if humidity exceeds 85% or when temperature is within 10° of the dew point. This product will darken some woods, but an even coat is needed for the best finish with the polyurethane. After application, the surface can be sanded to help even it out. Two of the gallons had so many lumps in them...
Two of the gallons had so many lumps in them that I had to strain it in order to use the product. It looked like the container had been left open and had skimmed over inside.
