We used Restore to paint an outdoor wooden and cast iron bench. Since this bench sits outside, unprotected from the elements in the Alabama summers, some of the boards had to be replaced. The boards not replaced, we sanded. This paint went on very thick, but was not difficult to use. Because of the thickness though, it filled in all the old boards where small cracks were in the wood. It dried quickly and had little odor.

I purchased this online since it's not stocked; online ordering was super easy! The paint is vibrant and eye-catching. It pays to read the directions before applying this paint since it's formulated very differently than other Rust-oleum paints. But it's definitely worth the extra work and expense.

I think mine was defective
The color is beautiful but I don't know what was wrong with mine but the consistency was like painting with thick chunky frosting. I was on a time restriction so I couldn't return and so my furniture definitely has some thick brush marks in it and if I brushed anything a second time before it was completely dry, it would muck up into chunks. I think I got a defective can.

Response from Rust-OleumSupportFeb 10, 2017
Let's get to the bottom of this! Rust-Oleum Restore Outdoor Furniture Coating is 4X thicker than ordinary paint. It is important to thoroughly mix the material to ensure any settled pigment is redispersed and stir occasionally during use. Two thick coats of the coating is recommended.
