Absolutely love this color. Painted my whole kitchen… all cabinets… my fireplace mantel, and my laundry room cabinet and shelf with it. Was all brown before- it’s gone- it’s all pure white now. I’m really in love. Great color, price & quality. Saved a lot of money by doing it all by myself with this paint !!!

Easy and looks great!
Not a true black but so easy to use and looks fantastic! I would let the paint dry a little longer than the directions say but other than that I couldn’t expect more from the product.

Yellow cabinets
I painted the doors last summer. Now, 8 months later, I am painting the inside if the boxes (same paint). That’s when I realized the doors in and out are yellow because of the stark contrast with the new paint. Now I see others have experienced this.

    Great transformation
We had old oak cabinets that were such high quality wood, but did not match the current aesthetic we were going for. We researched and found this option to be the best bang for our buck. And the best part was it was ready to go. Super Easy to apply and very high quality results. I cannot reccomend this product and this color enough. If you are tired of your old dark kitchen, go for it.

    Goes on smooth
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I needed to paint an old Ikea dresser and Rust-Oleum Cabinet Transformations Basics came to the rescue. It is Linen White in a semi-gloss finish specifically used for cabinets and trims. I like how smooth it was to paint and it quickly dries. Now my dresser looks great.

      Great Coverage
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This cabinet paint is super easy to use and I love the great coverage that this cabinet paint leaves. It’s super easy to transfer my cabinets. I love that it has a great quick dry formula and has a durable smooth finish to it as well.

        Great Product.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this Rust-Oleum paint for my cabinets a couple weeks ago. The color is linen white and is very easy to work with. I painted both of my end tables. I love the way they turned out. This is the first time I've used Rust-Oleum brand and I will be using it again.

          Works Great, Looks Fantastic!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We got this paint in the color “Linen White” to give our current cabinets a face lift. They are currently painted, so we used a deglosser and then painted using this Rust-Oleum cabinet paint. Paint applied smoothly and easily. When dry and cured fully, this paint is advertised to resist dirt, grime and mildew; it has only been a few days but we’re very happy with the results so far!

            Definitely not black
I’m so disappointed. Great quality paint but after mixing thoroughly and hoping it would dry darker, it’s not even remotely black. It’s grey. Now I have to buy an actual black paint and paint the cabinets all over again.

              More of a ash/charcoal black
This color isn’t straight black it more of an ashy charcoal black. My kitchen still turned out beautiful and I love the way it turned out

                Isn't black
Easy to use but isn't black, nor does it cover well. I have light wood cabinets and it's going to need multiple coats and is clearly more navy then a true black. I used the tile paint and was so happy with it I thought it was a no brainer to use the cabinet.... Highly disappointed.

Oh no, not something we like to hear. For best results using Rust-Oleum Transformations Cabinet Paint, stir well before use, this ensures any settled pigment has been redistributed throughout the paint, which typically results in excellent color. Give us a call at 888-683-5667 so we can hear more about your application and try to make things right.

Works as described. Recommend degloss instead of sanding if already painted cabinets

                  Cabinet Paint from Rust-Oleum
We got this paint specifically for a new house flip project. Our plans are to sand and paint the old cabinets because they are well-made and just need a facelift. This paint from Rust-Oleum is a nice linen white color in a semi-gloss finish and is formulated specifically for cabinets. It must have an additive that allows the paint to flow smoother than normal interior paint. When dry and cured fully, this paint is advertised to resist dirt, grime and mildew, although I have not had the occasion to test this out.

Covers well even on old plaster walls
I blended the Alabaster and Capri colors together for painting one wall in my rental property. The rest of the paint will be used in our man cave in the area surrounding the pool table -- especially the Capri color will work well there. The paint (blended color) worked well on an old plaster wall where paint had peeled and pebbled off in sheets, perhaps from moisture coming through the wall. I rolled on one coat, waited a couple hours and added the second coat. A couple hours later I was able to rehang the art on the wall. Job complete in one afternoon. Great paint - rolls well - goes on thick but smooth.

                  Excellent quality; covers well
While my primary use of this paint will be in the man cave, I needed to repaint one wall of a bedroom in my rental house and thought this color would work well. Then I realized the blue-grey color was very much too rich and dark. Since I have the same paint in Alabaster, I mixed the two of them together. The attached photos show the result. This was using the paint on old plaster where the multi-layered paint had peeled and come off in sheets. This paint smoothed any rough edges and covered well with no base coat under it. I added the second coat within a couple hours; the pictures show the finished product, with art in place before leaving the house that afternoon.

                  Nice Shade of Blue
The Rust-Oleum Transformations, Capri Cabinet Paint comes as a 2 Gallon set. I really like the shade of blue that this paint comes in. After reading the instructions I found out that there is a bunch of work involved before you can even use the cabinet paint. The first thing you have to do is scrub the cabinets with a degreaser to remove and grease that may be on the cabinets. Than you have to prime the cabinets and the doors with Zinsser Bulls Eye 1 2 3 primer or B-I-N primer sealer. When that's all done then you can paint using the Capri cabinet paint.

                  Great Paint!!
I love my kitchen but I have been trying to think of ways to brighten it up, so when I saw this paint I thought this would be perfect!! My pantry is made of lumber, so it's not a true cabinet but I used this paint and it worked awesomely!! I like a more "rustic" feel to things so I used this paint sparingly but I will say this paint is amazing!! A little bit of this paint goes a LONG way!! You can see in my pictures how little paint I used to change the look of my pantry! And I absolutely LOVE it!! It was the perfect pick me up for the kitchen that I was looking for!! If you are looking for a true glossy finish this paint would do it, I just chose to apply it lighter so that you could see some of the black cabinet coming through the blue. My daughter also decided to use this paint on an old frame that we had so you can see how blue it can look if you apply it heavy enough to fully coat whatever it is that you are painting. All in all great paint and a very pretty colonial blue/grey color!!!

                  High quality paint
This Rust-oleum Transformations 1 gallon Capri cabinet paint came in a two gallon box and is a very pleasing blue color. This semi-gloss paint is perfect for cabinets or any furniture like chairs or a dresser. I have tried the black version of this paint on a small table and love the look and how hard the paint feels. I am sure it will stand up to heavy use and last for many years. I will be using this Capri blue on some older kitchen cabinets I have as soon as I get to clean them out and remove all the doors. As with any paint job it's all in the prep work, cleaning sanding and priming the cabinets should give a great looking paint job. Rust-oleum recommends using a 2 inch synthetic brush for the application and a second coat after three to four hours. Rust-oleum has a satisfaction guaranteed warranty.

                  The Great Experiment
I’ll admit right up front that I don’t much care for the esthetic of painted cabinets. Especially non-factory painted ones with brush strokes or roller stipple showing. That’s what I had in all the apartments and rental homes I lived in when I was younger. They were almost always constructed of thin, flat plywood, with ten coats of semi-gloss enamel on them that showed every brush stroke and usually had chipped edges. They had a sticky feel, no matter how much one washed them. And, they stuck to the face frame when closed too. Fast forward to today where I have a house that I am preparing for sale. There are three bathrooms and I’ve already redone the floors and replaced the toilets and fixtures. The bathroom cabinets were in great shape but the factory sprayed off-white paint on them could use some help. I’ve long wondered about the functionality of these new, specialty cabinet paints. I’ve read great things about Rust-Oleum Cabinet Transformations Paint and decided to give it a shot. I’ve used Rust-Oleum products for many years and have found them to be superior to others. I was planning on setting up a makeshift spray booth in the garage and spraying the cabinet doors using my homeowner grade, airless sprayer. Then painting the wood face frames with a brush before reinstalling the doors. If the results were as good as advertised, I was thinking I’d also paint the rest of the bathroom trim using the Rust-Oleum. After the Rust-Oleum arrived and I’d read the directions on the can as well as from the manufacturer online I realized that spraying with my existing equipment would be problematic due to the thick viscosity of the paint. The manufacturer’s instructions said to not thin the paint in any way. So, I was struggling with what approach to use. I was fearful of unsightly paint brush lines if I went with a brush and stippling or orange peel if I used a roller. Finally, I realized that my best course of action would be a test. Take one door and paint one side with a brush and the other side with a roller and see if either was acceptable. I removed a door and dutifully sanded it smooth, starting with 220 grit and working up to 400 grit. I was able to easily sand the flat, hardboard face of the doors as smooth as glass with a very slight “tooth” remaining in the existing finish. I didn’t sand down to bare wood so I decided not to prime them. First, I used a decent nylon brush to paint the back side of the door. The paint went on very smoothly and easily, but the brush marks were obvious. I leveled out the coat as best I could by overbrushing in long vertical strokes from top to bottom on the door. I let the door dry for twelve hours and the brush strokes did flow out quite a bit smoother. But, not enough for my satisfaction. Take note: The Rust-oleum, even though very thick, is slightly translucent when it dries. Even though I was painting Linen over an off-white prior color, I could still see some of the original color in the “valleys” in the brush strokes. I can imagine that if one is significantly changing colors, three coats would be a strong possibility. The next day, I sanded the first coat a bit with 400 grit and applied a second coat. This time, I smoothed out the paint using long, horizontal strokes hoping that might offset any vertical brush marks from the first coat. Again, I let it dry 12 hours. The result was a solid coating of paint that had dried hard – although it would take days to dry as hard as it could. But I now had a cross hatch brush pattern. Which was not acceptable to me. I flipped the door over to the prepared front side and applied a coat of Rust-Oleum Transformations using a closed cell roller. This left a stipple effect on the paint and had me worried. But the coverage was better than the brush coat I had put on the back side. As it dried, the paint flowed out well and small, stipple bumps seemed to flow away, into larger areas. The end result was better than with a brush but, not enough to meet my standards. I did not apply a second coat in favor of sanding the door down again and starting over with a sprayer. I have yet to obtain a sprayer capable of handling the viscosity, so I can’t report on results here. Based on my new experience with this Rust-Oleum Paint as well as having previously sprayed thick, appliance enamel on kitchen appliances, I have little doubt that the result will be as good as I’m going to get and acceptable to me. I will still paint the face frames by hand with a brush on the cabinets in situ. Overall the Rust-Oleum produced a hard, glossy finish that seems rugged enough for cabinetry or door face use. I would recommend it with the caveats outlined in my experience above. I would add that, if one is painting something with a more figured finish, like the embossed woodgrain on the hollow core doors in my house, the brush strokes should not be an issue. In fact, I may try that as well. Finally, don’t make the mistake I did in assuming the paint is fully hard and cured after only twenty four hours. The paint was hard to the touch after a few hours, and I assumed fully hardened after twenty four hours. I set the previously painted back of the door on a scrap piece of scrap lumber so that the freshly rolled front side could dry only to find that it left bits and pieces in the finish when I picked it up the next day. Take your time and let this paint cure to full hardness before putting it into service so that you don’t mark up your hard work.

                  Cabinet Paint
I got this paint to re-do some bathroom cabinets. We also used it for the bathroom trim. It seems like a very high quality paint and I believe it will last for years to come. It was easy to apply. Clean up was easy using just soap and water. Application with a brush was smooth and dries fast. Have some bigger areas that I want to try a roller on next.

                  Beautiful Color
This Rust-Oleum Transformations 1 gallon Capri Cabinet Paint (2-Pack) is a beautiful color. I have been thinking about changing the color of my cabinets in my kitchen they are a very dark brown and makes my kitchen look dark and gloomy. I can’t wait to try this color out and see the change in my kitchen. The directions on the can are easy to read and understand how to apply it. Very easy clean up after painting.

                  Smooth, easy coverage.
Wanted to update my laundry room and had those typical outdated oak wood cabinets so I decided to paint them and chose Rustoleum Transformations Cabinet in Linen White. The color is just as it's name, a nice, clean linen white which will certainly brighten up the dull cabinets. Being impatient, I decided not to prep with a primer coat and applied directly to the wood cabinet. It goes on nice and smooth and dries pretty quickly so you can apply the second coat in 2 hours. I'll apply a third coat but am pretty sure only two are needed should you indeed prime the surface first. A nice look. Oh, I also really like the plastic lid as opposed to the old metal ones. Cleans up easily with soap and water.

                  Cabinet Paint
This is my initial review of the rustoleum cabinet paint products. Unfortunately my Capital project has been delayed. But I wanted to comment on the versatility and ease of using this painting product. The directions are very clear and offer good suggestions on how to get the best outcome. The 2 one gallon cans are rated to cover up to 400 square feet with two coats of paint. It came well secured in a box with the lids triple clamp so there was no leakage. Ian I'm looking forward to using this product to complete my project

                  Thick paint, VERY glossy!
We're repainting cabinets in the workshop and Rust-Oleum is a trusted brand. This paint is pretty much white; I guess "alabaster" is a fancier word for it. The paint is very thick and adhered well. There were a couple of places it didn't quite work with one coat, but the cabinets were dark gray to begin with. Brush strokes showed so the second coat will need to be applied with a fine nap roller. We're really pleased with the gloss finish - it should hold up well. I almost didn't rate this 5 stars since the viscosity isn't suitable for applying with a brush. But the paint hardness once dry and decent first coat coverage is better than many other paints we've used.

                  Nice coverage
Rustoleum makes great paint, and this black paint covers a lot of projects. One gallon can do a huge kitchen. It works nice in a sprayer, but even with a dark primer will need at least 3 coats. When applying with a brush and roller, you get Slightly better coverage. The key is the undercoat, as that will determine how many coats. I had a small chair, already painted black, and the final finish required two coats. It goes on smoothly with very little dripping, even on the tiny trim pieces I was painting.

                  May Be Great
I need to qualify my review by saying I am a terrible painter. That said, this seems to be a really good choice for a refresh on cabinetry. These cabinets are 40+ years old and are pretty basic builders grade type. But they are solidly constructed. The paint instructions are straight forward and simple. I followed their recommendation for cleaning and priming. The paint covers well and two coats covered the white formica uniformly. I would recommend a high quality, lint free roller as my first attempt with a brush did not yield a smooth finish. The only question I cannot answer is how well it will stand up to regular kitchen abuse :)

                  Really like the color
I use a lot of Rust-Oleum products and am generally very happy with them. This "Transformations " product in "capri" is no exception. It is intended to be cabinet paint and I think it will do that very well. I plan on painting the outdated wooden kitchen cabinets and was hoping to find a good blue. This one will work well, and I think many people will like it too. Not too dark or light or Grey. Just a nice peaceful color. Goes on very smooth. Since I'm painting over a darker color I may do a primer first, really haven't decided yet. But either way, this product is a yes from me.

                  Very Forgiving paint
I picked up the Alabaster Rustoleum Transformation cabinet paint to, well, transform a 6' long bathroom vanity in the near future. But before I commit to that project, I wanted to give this paint a bit of a 'torture test' to get an idea of what I'll be in for. I did a quick test cabinet (currently in my garage, destined for the basement shop) with basically no prep (just made sure it was clean), using a cheap 2" brush, in a cold garage (mid-50s). Basically, do everything wrong, slap on some paint, see how it goes. Result? It actually looked decent after 1 coat, looks great after 2. That is NOT how I'll do my bathroom vanity - that one deserves scuffing and priming and a better brush, for sure. But this test gave me the confidence to tackle the vanity job.

                  Great for updating cabinets
We were ready to update our twenty-five year old cabinets that were still in overall good condition but wanted an economical do-it-yourself way to do it. Rust-Oleum Transformations looked ideal with its simple application process. Our cabinets had a white-wash stain and seal finish that was showing it’s age. Preparing the surface is important, so the instructions recommend that you use either a deglosser or a primer to ensure good adhesion. I went ahead and did both just to be sure. The liquid deglosser wiped the glaze off with a bit of scrubbing. Then with a 4” roller, I applied the primer and let it dry. For the paint application, I used a 2” brush to put on two coats of the Rust-Oleum Transformations allowing three hours in between. There was no trace of the previous stain finish on our now beautiful solid white cabinets. We had chose the Alabaster shade, which is similar to ivory, to complement the other warm tones in our decor. We’re very pleased with the fresh, updated look.
