The review stating it has "pebbles" and thus isn't good for concrete mix and IS good for play sand is just plain incorrect. Concrete mix can and often does have coarse sand mixed into it -- this causes no problems. Play sand should certainly NOT have pebbles in it and should be of a finer grain. Play sand is, in fact, sold separately at Home Depot.
If you're looking for mixing sand or sand for traction on your driveway, etc., this mix is perfect.
Apart from the 60 lb. Multi-Purpose Sand being heavy - 60lb the product was great. The only thing I would suggest is being conscious of transporting it. The bags, if handled incorrectly can open on their own.
I use it for planters that need a sandy loam. Also use it outside for areas that need good drainage. We have clay based soil here & hign traffic areas turn into a mucky mess with even moderate amounts of rain.
Easy to Use, Performs Well, Easy to Install, Easy to Work With, Great Value, Economical
I used the product to loosen soil prior to laying down a sod lawn. The sand was of consistent granularity and perfect for this landscape application. The bagging was sturdy so that none of them leaked in transit or prior to use.
