Substantial variation in plants purchased online vs in-store. Cannot recommend

Our family installed a row of Sunshine Ligustrums this summer and were very satisfied with the plants bought in store. Another family member had to order one of the plants online since we bought all available in-store. The plant we received online appears similar in a broad sense so far as being a yellow/green shrub, however, it is vastly different to the in-store purchased ones in terms of genetic physical attributes that are unchangeable (e.g. muted foliage coloring, small leaves, stringy low density foliage). To summarize, the plants bought in-store have larger and denser foliage with a striking combination of yellow and green. The online plant has small foliage that is not near as dense and the coloring is low contrast pastel yellow and green. Attached with this post are pictures of the two (looks even more different in person). I'm wondering what to do about this. We verified that the correct product was ordered online and the plant tag was correct.

Excellent Quality Plants

I was a bit hesitant at the idea of buying plants online, but with no luck finding them in any stores or at the local greenhouses, I figured I would give it a shot. I ordered 4 of these on Saturday and they were waiting on my porch when I got off work on Wednesday. They were packed very neatly and securely and were every bit as good as I had hoped for. Foliage was bright and yellow and appeared to be very healthy. I would not hesitate buying more plants again from Home Depot. 100% satisfied

Very thin branches with few leaves. Several blackish spots on leaves of all plants. Not good quality. My first order of these were/are good quality. I immediately took pictures of the plants and sent them to Home Depot. No response.
