These bolts exceeded my expectations as I built a log gate 7 to 9 inches in diameter and used them to bind together the 90 degree joints. They didn’t fail when the gate was accidentally dropped and fell over. Amazing! These are the best lag bolts I have ever used on a project that requires great strength.

We used 6 lag screws to install a mantle over our new fireplace. They worked perfectly.

So far so good. The length of these makes them difficult to drive, even with a pilot hole, so air tools are recommended. Will let you know how they held up after 10 years or so ;-).

The whole series of SPAX lag screws are excellent. The tips are extremely pointy and edges act like saw blades cutting into the wood. We used 3/8" and 1/2" lags to attach steel braces to old 12" beams without pre-drilling. None of them slip after seating, even when using automotive impact wrenches.

Bought four to put up a tree swing and only needed one, such is the strength of the screw. Takes some effort to put in with a socket, but predrilling the hole definitely helped.

No. It was not the fix for what I was looking for. But as a Home Repairman I will use them on some other project. I eventually found 0 diameter screws to fix my need.

Use these if you want solid hardware especially for deck building, they don't break off like the galvanized junk, and go in smooth. well worth the cost.
