High grade wood screws
Over the last 20 years or so, I’ve seen the quality of wood screws go down – even what used to be reliable brands now tend to break and strip; I attribute this to their moving manufacture overseas to countries that process a lot of scrap metal – I really don't think they pay much attention to the alloy over there. So it was welcome relief to try these SPAX screws labeled as made in USA or Germany. They’re said to be "Class 5" strength - maybe they are, because not one broke or stripped during my project, even when driven into moderately hard wood (poplar) without first drilling a pilot hole. And the screws were packaged with a screwdriver bit that fit perfectly. Well done! I just hope the company maintains their quality.

Great product to use. Less (if any) stripping of the heads or bit. In my experience, the only time the bit would spin off of the head, was when I wasn't putting enough downward pressure on the drill.

Great screws. Strong for most home applications. The few extra dollars per box vs. standard "drywall" style screws is definitely worth it to not have to pre drill holes. Additionally the torx is much less likely to strip out. I've used these for years and their rust resistance is decent as well.

Go in 2x4s like a Hot knife through butter.
These were actually the first screws I bought for a current project (making 20 tables for my wedding). I had no issues but my gripe was I could only buy one pound at a time. Then I bought a 5 pound box of grabber screws (30% cheaper) and I had nothing but issues. stripped heads and multiple nails broke.For now I have bought another one pound box as I also test out some other brands. don't pass up on these nails they are amazing. No pre drilling needed and they countersink fine on their own.

I have used the Spax and Deckmate brands and by far the Deckmate are the best. Why... Simply the star drive on the Deckmate is larger T25 versus T20 on the Spax. Doesn't sound like a big difference but just use both and you will be sold. I have striped out bits and the heads on the Spax but this will not happend on the T25 Deckmat. I took the time to review to save someone a little frustration. Overall the Spax are okay but why use something okay when you can have outstanding. Have fun!

Got the job done fast!
I'm really pleased with these screws! They really are self-tapping and they made my DIY shelving project a breeze! The tips of the screws have these little teeth that bite into the wood and drive in smoothly. My only regret is that I didn't buy a second box. I was only a handful of screws short of my project and using regular wood screws on the same project let me see how much of a difference those little teeth make!

So easy to work with, not one screw gave trouble!
Excellent product. I used almost the entire box for a wood project using mostly 2x4s.. Not even one of the screws gave me trouble slipping or breaking. They provided the bit which was really handy, you don't have to scramble through your tool box to find the right bit. I will sure buy these screws going forward.

I really prefer using these T-Start screws, they are a lot easier to use than a standard philips head or flat head screwdriver tip. They made my project much easier to build.
