I like this glaze much better than DAP because I can actually perceive that it is drying and I expect that I will be able to paint it soon. The first window glaze that I tried was DAP and after 2 months it is still not dry enough to paint.

This product is like the old Elmer's glazing compound. Cleans up with water instead of mineral spirits which was a plus for me. The 1 thing I had trouble with was smoothing it out. The video shows it so simply but didn't work that way so called the co. and they said to put your tool or finger in water and then smooth it out. Well, that did work once you get used to it. The directions on the can do not tell you to smooth with water. I would buy a much smaller can instead of this large one because it goes a long way.

Quality product. Easier to use than Dap 33. No roping necessary. Previous job with Elmers latex glaze was in good shape when compared to same window with Dap 33 on one side. Aqua Glaze goes on easy, works well.

  • Great in a pinch.

I love having this around when I'm in the middle of a window job and I need to get a coat of paint on quickly. Normally I prefer a traditional glaze and I plan jobs around the typical curing time of two weeks. Sometimes that just isn't possible, and that's when this stuff comes in handy. It's temperamental to work with, so I really only use it when I have to. I'll be curious to see if it stands the test of time on projects I've used it on recently.

Product was easier to apply than DAP product in a caulk tube. I didn't wear gloves but I would recommend wearing latex or nitrile gloves. I also noticed that this had a tendency to crack a little bit on the surface while it dried. Might have been due to heat that was 90* +.

Used this to re-glaze 15 wooden windows in an old home. Had never used it before, but it works great. I like the fact that it can be painted in just 30 minutes. The products I used previously took forever to cure - sometimes weeks. Have a glass of water handy to dip your tools in when cutting and smoothing. I finished by dipping my finger tip in water and then gently smoothing the joint. Use a paper towel to clean off glass. Any residue that dries on the glass is easily removed with a razor blade scraper. Will only use this stuff going forward. So much easier.

Very nice product as long as you use the proper tools and technique. Sticky..don't roll like other putties or you will make a huge mess of it. CRL angled putty knife and MintCraft glazing tool. Bucket of water, sponge and rag. Wet putty knife and take small amount of putty and apply. Dip in water between applications. Smooth with MintCraft. Clean glass with rag. Clean tools with rag and water.
