Second tub I received due to damage. This time tub had a large amount of plastic dust in the bottom, on inspection of the side face panel, large number of hairline sharp lengths of plastic , and splatters of a tar like substance stuck on. I then discovered the mold trimmings, which vary from 1/8 to 1/2 inch, were never removed on the tub and are incredibly sharp. They cant be left on, you tub would not lay flat if you do. I would never buy anything from this manufacturer again.

One week after installation, there was a hairline crack. By the time the company came out to repair it, the crack tripled in size AND a second hairline crack appeared in a different area of the tub. I am afraid that the cracks will continue to appear in the future after the warranty expires.

Bought this tub and had it professionally installed. Used it to take showers 4 times. Then discovered a crack on the top sill as I was exiting. I thought it was a piece of hair but turns out to be a hairline crack that starts on the tubs top edge and goes an inch or so into the interior tub side. Definitely not a happy customer.

Great Alternative to an old iron tub
Getting the old tub out was much more difficult than installing the new tub. The new tub is installed and with the new tile, it looks great. It was the least expensive part of the bathroom remodeling project but it looks like a million bucks.

Tub reno. Bathroom 5' X 12'
We removed an old ceramic/metal tub in a 5 x 12 bathroom. Very tight. A heads up for "would be DIYer's", the drain had to be moved to accommodate the new tub drain. Also, even though the drain kit we purchased said it would work for this depth tub, it did not(without adding in another extension. Otherwise we have found the tub to a value for the product. It seems very solid thus far.

Good solid tub when properly installed
Do not install a bathtub without supporting the base with a mortar bed or high density marine foam. Unless it is a cast iron tub, you won't be happy with it if you skip this step. I have installed many Sterling tubs and shower and believe they are the best value for your money.
Just be careful when handling the tub as you can easily break a corner or edge during installation. Once installed the unit it pretty durable.

Cracked in 3 places out of the box
Had a bad crack in the backrest top corner, and two on the outboard sil top, huge ones on the sil, right out the box. I ordered another and well see how it looks. I only bough this as the bad reviews were old and I was hoping the quality issues were fixed, it has the perfect dimensions for fitting in without new plumbing for my project as it is identical to the one I have had for 15 years.

Ordered this tub only to have it have defects. We returned it, got a new one, and it had defects. Repeated this process several times, but all of them with issues (everything from chips, running paint marks, and large cracks). It appears there is no quality control with their products
