Tape is NOT self adhesive. You will have to use the old school way by putting a layer of composite, then the tape, then cover it with composite. Don’t believe the self adhesive part of the product description for this brand.

best joint tape you can get if you have big seams or old walls with cracks and holes. Tape has many layers and is superior over any other tape I have used

I won’t use any other mesh tape for drywall repairs, it has a bit more glue than the regular mesh tape and it’s a lot stronger.

It would be better if it were more adhesive. It quickly begins to sag off walls and ceilings if you don't mind it instantly. I worked prefer to do all the mesh application then mud.
