Worst purchase of my life
We purchased this refrigerator in 2014 or 2015. It worked fine for a while well past any warranty period. We loved the features and the special front door. Then the ice maker started to freeze over. Then the inside of the fridge stopped cooling because the cooling element in the back froze over. Since that started, we have had to defrost the inner workings of our fridge 3 times. Worst design I’ve ever seen. It should be criminal how these terrible refrigerators are still the dominant brand in so many big box retail stores. Truly awful products. I warn friends to stick to Samsung TVs and phones only please. Samsung appliances are overpriced garbage. So disappointed.

    Class action anyone?
    how is there not a class action on the samsung fridge yet. for two years i fought with samsung to fix the fridge, it would ice up around the fan which would stop all air circulation. they finally did something so it doesn't stop anymore, but it constantly sounds like the fan is hitting ice, it is super loud. as for the ice maker, we have all but given up. chipping out the ice build-up in the ice maker gets so old, and my wife and i fight about who's turn it is (it's definitly her's since i'm the only one that has ever done it) to clean it. sure wish samsung could make this right somehow, i might be willing to consider giving them a 2nd chance.

      Biggest Piece Of Junk!
      We bought this from Home Depot in 2014. Just after the warranty ran out the ice maker started dripping then freezing up. We have to take the hair drier to it every two weeks just to get a little bit of semi-frozen ice, and that only lasts for about 2 weeks at the max then we have to do it again. Then if that wasn't enough, the coils in the center of the fridge started freezing up and turns into a block of ice which hits the fan motor and makes all kinds of noise. It's been 4 weeks since I took it apart last time to thaw it out and now it's doing the same thing again. This time it's frozen so bad I had to remove everything from the fridge so it will thaw out just to get the cover off. PIECE OF JUNK!. Just look at the Samsung forums and look at all the complaints about this fridge that are similar to mine and Samsung won't do anything about it. I have an old Kenmore in the garage that I replaced with this piece of junk and it's still working like a champ AND has the best ice maker ever. This thing is going to the trash tomorrow and I'm going to get a Whirlpool! Thanks Samsung.....stick to making TV's!

        Frozen
        disappointed with this unit which i purchased in oct 2015. about 2 years in it started making loud noises. tech from company i bought it from found the back coils were frozen inside the fridge. thawed. this has happed 2 times since then and based on how long it takes it will likely strike again soon. this week though i found the inside temp to be 30 degrees despite being set at 44. my warranty is up so now i have to start paying to keep it running.

          Ice Master Very Poor Quality
          have to thaw icemaker biweekly or no ice. it started after 1 year of use. also, need to make cleaning easier. hard to remove bottom shelf glass & bins. keeps stuff cold. outside door is nice.

            samsung has some major flaws in their water systems causing back unit to freeze which makes fan thump for a few days then die.

              I would give this refrigerator zero stars! So we have own this fridge 3 years a year after buy once a month we have to defrost the fridge. Now we r defrosting about every 2 weeks. On a plus the fridge makes a loud noise when it’s ready to be defrosted... There is no way to fix the problem. We have looked into it. WILL NEVER BUY A SAMSUNG FRIDGE AGAIN!!

                Nothing but Problems
                We bought this fridge in 2014 and it has been nothing but a headache. It's more than just problems with the icemaker - the inner guts of the fridge easily get covered with ice. This causes all kinds of very loud noises and after a certain amount of time, the temperature regulator will not work right. Appliance repairmen have to take everything apart and de-ice it. Then it works fine for awhile ---until the ice builds up again. Apparently there is no fix for this as it keeps happening over and over. As one positive, I do really like the design of the door-in-a-door. I have looked at other fridges out there and so far no one makes one like this.

                  Not recommended if you have wood floors
                  We purchased this fridge 4 years ago. We love the look, the beverage door but were very disappointed when we began to have ice maker issues 2 years in. We initially would have issues with the ice maker freezing up and the cheese tray would then begin to collect water. With time it has only worsened, now the entire area under the cheese tray fills with water, so much so I can splash, it then begins leaking in to the freezer drawer and on to our new wood floors. Needless to say, we are less than pleased. Fortunately we've been home when this has happened and able to clean up quickly but there us still evidence of our floor swelling and we're afraid to go out of town. I'll have to find a sitter for our fridge. Extremely dissatisfied. Love my TV and phone but never again will I recommend or buy Samsung appliances

                    I have a small kitchen with a tight space to fit a refrigerator in so I was thinking I was extremely limited with my options however by taking off the doors and bottom drawer of the refrigerator I was able to fit the 28" with of the side through the 30" door ways to get it into the kitchen. It is absolutely fabulous and the showcase door is a wonderful convenience. There is a setting that turns the compressors off so that the unit does not cool while in is on display so when you shut that off and the compressors kick on it cools very quickly and keeps the temperature very well. The settings are easy to use on the control panel. Since I bought a clearance floor model that did not come with a owner's manual, I was able to find everything I needed on Samsung's website. Very pleased with this purchase.

                    Ice Maker has given me a lot of problems. The refrigerator is nice and has many nice features. However, in just 3 1/2 years, I have just made an appointment for my 4th service call on the ice maker. It frequently stops making ice, drips water in the door and the interior of the refrigerator, at times it makes tiny or hollow ice cubes, and it has rapid ice build up on the upper "ceiling" of the ice maker. This build up of ice requires us to get a warm, wet washcloth to melt the ice away every month or two. Otherwise it interferes with ice making. It does not meet my expectations. My expectation from a refrigerator that dispenses water and ice is to do just that. I purchased the 5 year service plan, and it has more than paid for itself on just the ice maker issues.

                      Poor Quality
                      I have the refrigerator for 18 months and the double door latch broke. It is flimsy plastic and requires a replacement of the whole door. With this, recalls on washing machines, and phones that catch fire, Samsung has a serious quality issue. Steer clear of this brand.

                        We have had this fridge for a couple of weeks and we love it! The pull out freezer drawer makes seeing food so much easier. I love the French doors and the shelves that raise up to accommodate taller items. The skinny shelves on the left door are perfect for sauces and condiments. The ShowCase door is wonderful for our children. They can open it and get their snacks from the bottom two shelves. And as a tip: Gallons of milk from Sam's are the perfect size to fit TWO of them on one shelf side by side.

                        After a review of all the Refers in this class, we found this one to have the best combo of features and price. The large middle draw is great for salad fixings and fruit. The ice maker works quietly and puts out a lot of ice. the shelves adjust easily. The best feature is the door in the door. You don't know how much you will use it until you have it, This is a great refrigerator.

                        Pros: *Fits perfectly in my fridge space *Inside is nice size *Being able to adjust shelves without taking the whole fridge apart *The Cool Select Pantry on the bottom is perfect for snacks that my kids can access easily *The showcase door is a great feature for quick grab items *Freezer is deep and I love the drawer for smaller items Cons: *The ice crush doesn't really crush the ice. If you wanted to fill a standard cup, at least half will have full sized ice cubes in it *Bins on the left door by ice maker are small *Cool Select Pantry and two small drawers- difficult to pull the drawer completely out for cleaning. I think this is due to them bumping on the door. Both doors have to be fully extended in order to pull drawers out *Freezer gets stuck sometimes and I have to pull to get it fully extended. The freezer is only about half full so we're not sure why this happens Also, I purchased the fridge in July 2016 and I just noticed a part of the rubber door seal is torn. The stainless color is very nice but it is hard to keep clean and free of fingerprints, water marks and streaks.

                            “Don't buy and cry over spilled milk...............read on”
                            Hello, I assume you are shopping possibly for a new refrigerator as I was not even a month ago? Beware of the 28 cu. ft. 3-Door French Door Food ShowCase Refrigerator with Dual Ice Maker this company decided it was not important to make this hygienically consumer friendly, you ask what does that mean? So happy to tell you. Shopping for any new appliance is not a great experience however when you find the perfect fit and it is delivered, you are so happy to have such a lovely performing product until..........spilled milk(maybe wine)?You ask, what in the world? Right me too. So when it was delivered I read the manual for cleaning instructions, actually I read everything in the manual which was very easy for the lack of detail except for the many different languages. Then the dreaded spilled milk,( okay...wine), no worries right, soap and water, clean it right up? Nope, the manual clearly tells you to remove the vegetable drawers to clean and remove the glass shelf on top of them, they even put it under **CAUTION** remove drawers before you remove glass to clean, nope. Seems as though this well thought out product did not intend for the product to be used in a family setting with spills and such. After 20 minutes with chat trying to figure out how to remove the glass shelf above the vegetable drawers they sent another pictured step by step thru chat first, unable to read which representative knew that? Then sent thru email, still unable to read or see the pictures of showing you the where's and how's, best part none of this is in the manual. Totally exhausted at this point with what should be a simple cleaning, I called customer service as I have food sitting out. So after explaining the issue again and placed on a very long hold I am told, "oh that shelf doesn't come out for cleaning". So enjoy the soured milk, crumbs or any other food that will mold, sour ......you know what I'm saying, don't lie. It was made to look great, cost a lot of money but not made to be clean and sanitary. Just saying! ***On top of everything there are no consolation prizes, the only thing customer can say is "we so sorry" THIS SAME REVIEW WAS POSTED ON THEIR WEBSITE LAST NIGHT HOWEVER IT IS NOT THERE THIS MORNING AND CHAT CAN SEE IT BUT CAN'T EXPLAIN IT, FUNNY HUH? Tip for consumers: I reviewed the Samsung website reviews, which are all wonderful reviews, most are the first few day. The others are removed.

                              Beautiful refrigerator with tons of features!
                              Hours of price shopping and online study went into our purchase of this fridge. The features are terrific and it is a beautiful addition to our kitchen. We saved over $600 buying during the Black Friday promotions. Samsung has some bad reviews for service so we purchased the 5 -year warranty as well. So-far the fridge is quiet, makes plenty of ice, has lots of room and is easily organized. Door-in-door feature is terrific and one of my favorites. Front panel display and controls are easy to manage and add to the modern-techy feel of this fridge.

                              Great Experience
                              Have had this for 1 month now. Did not seem as cold as the one it replaced so I set the fridge at 34*F and the freezer at -1*F. Now all seems good. The door within a door is a great feature. The unit is rated same capacity as our old side by side but seems much larger due to the french door configuration. Ice maker works well so far and water dispenser is nice and large to accommodate a coffee pot or sun tea jug. Home Depot was great and our deliver/installation was seamless. The stainless steel does show fingerprints as you can see in the photo, but they all do.

                              Very pleased with this refrigerator! The door in door feature is fabulous, we use it all the time. Very sleek look, easy to clean, with deep deli and produce drawers. When comparison shopping, LG has a similar design, but the door didn't seem to work as well and I didn't like the button being so noticeable on the front handle. My only complaint is the water dispenser will sometimes drip when not in use. It hasn't been much and stays in the tray. Would definitely recommend!

                                    I've owned this refrigerator for 7 years and have to replace parts and have issues fixed 6 times already. Ice maker breaks, freezes up, fridge and freezer have stopped cooling more than once. It's beyond inconvenient and frustrating when it was not a cheap fridge. I've lost so much food over it. Terrible terrible appliance. I would never recommend a Samsung fridge

                                      This is one of the worst refrigerators I’ve owned. The rear panel freezes and ice reaches the fan which stops the unit from working.

                                        ever since we bought model rf28hdeddbsr/aa the ice maker has frozen over. while under warranty we had it repaired a couple of times. now it is a costly repair. samsung knows the icemakers on this model are bad yet they never came up with a fix and recall. won't buy samsung again.

                                          have had rhis refrigerator for 7 years. the ice maker is awful tried every fix numerous times. the only thing that works is a forced defrost weekly. overall the fridge looks very nice but isnt as practical. the ice maker takes up a lot of fridge space. the shelves aren’t as moveable when used with actual items in the fridge.

                                            Freezes everything
                                            we bought this some time ago and hated it. the fridge itself is nice but it constantly freezes my food. i was constantly throwing food and vegetables away because it will freeze. we disconnect it from the water thinking it was throwing water but no it will continue to freeze and everytime in a different spot. i ended up having to get a new fridge because of this problem. i will i knew to look up reviews about this fridge before purchasing this refrigerator because i would have never purchased it.

                                              dont buy samsung refrigerator
                                              we bought this fridge in 2016 and it has been nothing but a headache. it's more than just problems with the icemaker - the inner guts of the fridge easily get covered with ice. this causes all kinds of very loud noises and after a certain amount of time, the temperature regulator will not work right. appliance repairmen have to take everything apart and de-ice it. then it works fine for awhile ---until the ice builds up again. apparently there is no fix for this as it keeps happening over and over. you are wasting your money, will stop working ever 6 months. save your money dont buy.
