Not happy
My samsung refrigerator 1st started having problems with the ice machine not defrosting and now the refrigerator won't cool and behind the cover inside the refrigerator it is freezing up and stopping the fan. And have had it for 3 years or so. Found out what was going on by going online seeing videos. And seeing that i was having the same problem so its seems to be a problem.

      Don't Buy If You Want Ice
      We were very happy with this fridge. It worked fine the first 2 years then we started getting frost build up in the icemaker. Next when you put your glass under the dispenser for ice you would get a bath as melted ice ran out the flap door. After looking online I saw this was a common problem. I defrosted the icemaker and it worked for a few days then same issue again. After several defrost it stop making ice all together. If I hit the reset button it will dump ice then will chime a few minutes later and stop working. So apparently if I want ice I have to hit the reset button each time to get it to dump. Really Samsung? I should not be having this issue with a fridge that is less than 4 years old. This is a design defect that is affecting lots of consumers. Samsung should recall the icemaker and make it right. I will definitely avoid Samsung appliances in the future. I think they need to stick to electronics.

        Shopped for a new fridge, some person told us it was a good fridge, really wanted a great icemaker. This fridges ice maker is very bad. Less than a year old, can never get ice out of it. Very frusterated and disappointed with this product. Samsung take note and improve your product

Stainless finish on freezer is stained and I cannot get it off. Only looks nice when I keep it polished.

            Poor Performance
            I do not know if the people who purchased this refrigerator have the extended warranty, or had it more than one year. After my first two years with this refrigerator, I have had nothing but problem. However, the problems started right after my warranty expire. I had/have freezing in my ice maker, fan motor going out, and/or now what looks like my compressor. I purchased this refrigerator based on the capacity and the rating that it received in 2015, and now I see that it's still be rated an 82. However, if you google Samsung refrigerator errors, you would see that there are several consumer venting their dissatisfaction of this particular product, and if you read what they are saying they all state that they would NOT RECOMMEND Samsung refrigerator to a friend, or even any enemy. I have been having problems and I have come to conclusion, that I will put this refrigerator out for recycle and purchase anything but a Samsung refrigerator.

              I highly recommend that no one buy this product. We had ours for 11 months and is started to drop water onto our hardwood floors. We called Samsung for service. By the way Samsung does not have their own service people they use a third party. After an hour on the phone doing as they asked the determination was to send out a service company. The service man came out took the ice maker apart along with other parts. After almost two hours he reassembled everything and said it was a clogged line. The next day we went to get ice and everything was frozen and there was another puddle on the floor. We called Samsung again. They said that the service company claimed that they put in a new icemaker, which they have not. To make a long story short Samsung said thet would not use the same service company and claimed they could not find another service company in the area. Their options initially were wait until they could find a service company, which they could not put a time frame on or just disconnect the ice maker and live with it. Neither option was one were could live with. The person on the line became very disrespectful so at that point I said thank you and hung up. I immediately called back and asked for a manager. That was like asking for the President of the United States. I finally got through to a manager, or at least I think he was. By the way the number you call says in the manual that it is Canada. In actuality it is the Philippines. This person was sugary sweet, but was still trying to get me to live with the two options. I said that both were unacceptable. He said that he would have to escalate the issues to his manager and said they would call me back, which after three days they had not. I called back and told them I needed this resolved that day. This time the person I spoke to said he was turning it over to their US service center. Within an hour I received a call from a gentleman from South Carolina. I explained what had transpired over a three week period. He with a matter of fact attitude said that it was completely unacceptable. His solution was they would give me my money back so we could buy another unit. In 24 hours we contacted Home Depot. They had received all the paperwork from Samsung and we want a bought another refrigerator. I can tell you it wasn't a Samsung.

                The refrigerator has leaked onto the hardwoods 3 times now and the hardwoods have turned into a washboard around it. The ice maker, which has been replaced twice, is still leaking. To get the better repair service company they told us we have to wait 13 days for an appt. 13 days. What does that tell you? Samsung makes trash. Nice looking trash but trash none the less.                   DON’T BUY SAMSUNG MAJOR APPLIANCES. Samsung needs to stick to manufacturing TVs and cell phones. They suck at household appliances, and their repair service and customer service is beyond BAD. They were OK with making me live out of a cooler for 6 months, which I had to buy ice for every day (for six months at $3.00/day), until I finally sent them a letter on my law firm’s letterhead. They cut the refund check, for the full purchase price, the day after they received that certified mail. Samsung was playing a game of “keep beating her down and wait and see if she will go away.” They kept sending out different repair companies, seven of them, because they didn’t like the report every tech was giving them. I had a rupture in the sealed system inside the refrigerator at an inaccessible place - the side wall. They even made one tech replace my compressor so that it would pump out the replacement refrigerant even faster. DON’T BUY SAMSUNG MAJOR APPLIANCES. Don’t count on the Home Depot’s extended warrant to bail you out of this. Home Depot’s warranty company defers to the manufacturer on sealed system unless it’s over 5 years old and at that point, your Home Depot extended warranty is expired.

                    We purchased this fridge 6 months ago and already had service out here twice. Both times there has been an issue with the ice maker and multiple other issues with it. This is not something you want to spend $2500 on. We had issues with a previous Samsung freezer at one point but thought it was that model or unit. Come to find out that all the Samsung refrigerators are apparently sub-par.

The Noise is very annoying and it quits once you open the door. Many people have had this problem from this type of fridge from samsung. I would recommend if you are going to spend 2-3 k on a fridge, you should look elsewhere.

                        Door within a Door Problem
                        One of the primary features for purchase was showcase fridge door. Floor models' showcase door worked perfectly (in multiple stores). Our showcase door hasn't worked correctly since day it's been delivered. Issue is a give/lag between the two doors. Now 1 yr & 2 mns and still working w/ furniture store, 3rd party repair svc and ext. warranty provider. Repairman noted in his 9 years of experience, Samsung's door-within-a-door has never worked properly. Samsung - you should permanently fix this door issue or provide customers w/ a new fridge that works properly and stop selling new fridges w/ doors that don't work. Other people have had these issues as well; just search for "samsung showcase fridge door issues".

                          Have had this for two years now and I really don't like it. The construction is flimsy, handles constantly need tightening. The ice is terrible, not due to water quality, but due to the manufacturing process of this machine. I still buy ice for larger gatherings. It keeps things cold, and the freezer keeps things frozen. I'll give it that. Would prefer single door "fridge on top" made by another manufacturer. This model is not efficiency designed for space. I find it almost impossible to just open one door for access,which I believe is the reason for getting French doors...

                            We just completed a kitchen remodel and replaced all appliances. After reading many reviews on this model we overcame the fear of not purchasing and old appliance manufacturer standard like Kenmore, Maytag, Frigidaire, GE etc to go with the Samsung. We like the metal cooling door compartment for quick access to drinks. Our old GE had a drop down compartment door for that which was great for kids keeping cold air from escaping so we love this option. Some reviews said this unit was noisy but not ours. It's a beautiful unit. The ice cubes are smaller than the old GE and the ice maker doesn't hold as many ice cubes but we are empty nesters so it is more than adequate for us. We like the bottom freezer with the soft close drawer. After years of a french door side by side freezer refrigerator, the freezer on the bottom makes more sense as you don't use the freezer as often as the refrigerator above. So far I love everything about it but will it run for 25 years? Will I?

                              Just problem after problem with the icemaker. First, it freezes up constantly. You have to defrost the entire refrigerator to get it working again. It also has a freezer line problem where it starts making a high-pitch noise frequently. Again, you have to defrost it periodically to avoid this issue. Lastly, the icemaker will start dispensing slushy ice and water if there is dirt or debris on any part of the seal because warmer air will get into it. Just a horrible design. Don't buy this one or any Samsung with the door icemaker.
