Only lasted one year
i bought this fridge one year and one month ago from lowes. the fridge died less than a month after the manufacturers warranty was up. i registered it online and it states the warranty was up october 2018.... two years before i even purchased it! i haven’t even paid the fridge off. i woke up to my fridge temp at 46... and the water will work sporadically. the filter gets frozen in. the deli drawer is a huge waste of space. a $3300 fridge should last longer than 13 months! samsung is absolute garbage. i bought this one to replace my last one which only lasted 3 years... i figured a newer one would be better and lowes convinced me this was top of the line.

    Ice maker is horrible
    we've had this fridge for about 4 years now. the ice maker froze up a few times in the past and i didn't think much of it. now it is freezing up every week. very frustrating for how much we spent on this fridge!!

      this refrigerator is horrible. the ice maker constantly freezes and is basically unusable. the back panel constantly freezes up and needs to be thawed out. this makes everything warm inside and unsafe to eat. stay away from samsung refrigerators!

        Samsung builds products with questionable quality and voids warranties
        I purchased this Fridge just under a year ago. It looks great and has all the features I was looking for. About six months after a bought it, the left door was hit by the pantry door, leaving the smallest ding. You could only see it if the light was in the right spot but I planned on replacing it when I got around to it. Fast forward to now. The handle from the middle drawer just came off while I was opening it. To be clear, this handle wasn’t abused. I don’t have children. There are two adults in my house and this fridge was used lightly for the last 11 months. When I googled that specific problem, it turns out that it’s a design flaw and if a regular problem with this fridge. So, I called Samsung to sechdule a warranty repair. (that process is a nightmare in and of itself). When they finally got out to work on it, I asked for a quote to have the dinged door replaced since they were there and it was convenient. Just to be clear, I knew that the door replacement was going to come out of my pocket since it wasn’t a design flaw. I wasn’t asking for a free door replacement. After taking a look at my handle, the tech said the drawer itself was damaged and he couldn’t just put the handle back on. He quoted me for replacing he top door and then told me that Samsung had voided my entire factory warranty for “physical damage.” Apparently, a small cosmetic ding on a door, gives them the right to void your entire warranty. I assumed it was some sort of misunderstanding so I called Samsung support and was once again told that they have the right to void the warranty and there was no appeals process. I filed a complaint with the BBB. Someone from Samsung called me and once again told me that they have the right to void the warranty and that was that. It seems to me that cosmetic damage that I was prepared to pay to replace is an excuse to void a warranty, not a valid reason. The only reason for that type of policy is that they realize their products are built to a low standard and take advantage of any opportunity they can to get rid of any responsibility for their repairs. If you’re interested in this fridge, I’d recommend not just another model, but an entirely different brand. In my opinion, Samsung has a toxic culture. I’ve experienced it with just about every interaction I’ve had with them. I’m doing buying Samsung.

          Had refrigerator for 14 months. Ice maker makes too much ice; had to keep dumping. Fan and evap cover had to be replaced at sum of $500 and change. They only covered the ice maker. Purchased it because of brand name, big mistake. Should have purchased another LG (which is in my garage and still working fine.) Would not recommend any Samsung product.

              Samsung stepped up and fixed my fridge
              Ice maker issues auto defrost problems fridge would ice up and of course extended warranty is up. I read about class action suit decided to call samsung they basically replaced all the guts of this fridge free of charge works like a new fridge they restored my faith in the samsung name, ive had this model for 5 years so they obviously fixed the problems on the newer models thank you samsung

                    Trouble with ice maker
                    Less than one year old, the ice maker would freeze up, requiring me to take the tray out and defrost the ice all over the mechanism. Had at least 8 service calls with all parts eventually replaced. Finally went for about 10 months with it working and now it's doing the same thing. Would definitely not recommend this product. So

                      Dead after 9 months
                      this was a great refrig until it wasn't. the freezer died and 2 days later (while waiting 2 weeks for a tech) the fridge died. what a pain. it was 2 weeks for service. he could not fix it. now another week before the next tech can come. what are we supposed to do in meantime? i expect more from samsung. all my other new kitchen appliances - dw, oven combo, cooktop are all samsung. what can i expect from them??? i have 3 samsung smart tvs, a samsung phone and samsung tablet and an auto vacuum. i have been a samsung fan for awhile.

                        How can this be dead already? 3 months. Awful!!! Waited 2 weeks for service. He could not fix. Now we have to wait another 7 days for next repair person. I have little faith it will be fixed. We are fortunate we kept old fridge out in garage. Pita to take food in and out. Really upset!!!

                            Ice Maker Defect
                            i splurged for this nice looking fridge with ice/water dispenser. it looked great & worked great for 1 year. then the ice maker stopped working. when i pulled out the ice bucket inside of the ice compartment was frozen over. went online to find out this is a known defect that samsung did not recall. every month now when the ice stops working i have to defrost the compartment and reset the ice maker. my sister has same issue. apparently a widespread problem. disappointing, as i type this the cooling fan in the fridge is making a loud noise. again googled my issue & found people with same problem. ice build up behind the inside fridge panel. another service call. samsung should make good on their engineering defects. when i replace this appliance it won’t be a samsung.

                                              When the ice maker works, it makes flimsy, very airy, quick to melt ice. However, the ice maker freezes over often and jams up and will not dispense ice. It freezes to the point where you can't pull the basket out and have to defrost just to pull the mechanism out to then clear out the chunks to then get it working again to make the bad ice. For such an expensive fridge, this is a great disappointment! My old basic Kenmore had a fantastic ice maker that made loads of really firm ice and made it fast. We got too fancy for our own good! We should have just gone for function over form. This is a pretty fridge but when you still have to run to 7-11 to buy a bag of ice, what's the use?

                                                ice maker is no good
                                                my ice make will alway freeze and stop making ice ever two months. my ice maker was worked on 5 times before I got my refund through my insurance plan. it did me no good because i still had to pay more for a different one and deliver all over again. I must say if you do decide to try it please get the insurance. I was told they was able to improve the ice maker but I don't want to take a chance anymore.

                                                  I love this refrigerator! We had a larger French door refrigerator and when we remodeled our kitchen, we were limited to no larger than a 33" on the width. I was afraid we would be getting a refrigerator that felt small and wouldn't have the room inside we had before. But the way this refrigerator is designed, it feels just like the larger ones on the inside. It's beautiful to look at and the drawer in the middle is just awesome! The ice maker is large, but not in the way so as to take away inside space. The "no finger print" feature on the exterior is amazing. No constant wiping. I have no hesitation in recommending this refrigerator.
