I recently purchased the Schlage Camelot Encode Wifi Lock. It shipped quickly and came without any damage. The install was pretty straight-forward, although I had to cut a small piece of the door window trim away in order for the lock to fit width wise. The app is very easy to set-up/use and I have been pleased with the functionality thus far.

The Schlage electronic deadbolt is really nice so my wife doesn't have to go fumbling through her purse for her keys. The key is a little bit tricky to unlock, it must be in the straight up and down position, then after pushing the key in, you turn it until it sinks in, then you can turn the thumb-latch from the outside. Really neat after I was shown how it works.

First off, this thing is LOUD. It replaced a similar model from Kwikset that was easily half as noisy. Additionally, it’s not clear that in order to use with smart home integrations another device that plugs into the wall is required at additional cost. The phone app to control the deadbolt is pretty easy to use but won’t stay logged in so be prepared to enter your password every few days. Additionally, the touch pad doesn’t always register all button presses (also not a problem with Kwikset) so using the keypad for entry often takes multiple tries, and after so many you’re locked out of additional attempts for a couple of minutes.

Overall works well and easy to install. The smart part of it was an education with z wave communications. Not a WiFi product. Had to buy additional z wave hub to get functions I wanted.

As a professional LOCKSMITH this is the best smart lock that I recommend to all of my customers. Works with the Ring Video Doorbell and more. Also Schlage have the best customer service ever

I purchased (2) June 2017. Family Loves the Lock. Problem after 1 yr. Punch code, try to open, only partial engage deadbolt, had to try 3-4 times partial turn each try until open. "key; however works all the time. (defeats the reason to buy this type.) Electronics fine. Close inspection after removal noticed center spindle "loosie-goosey" Really loose, The metal spindle did not appear to be made from some high quality steel.?? That said, 2nd lock same "exact" failure, at two yrs. Contact Customer Sup. Very nice, quick replacements, both occurrences. However the 4th lock was deflective out of Box, this time electronic issues. So I was going to call to see if they would replace this 75% failure rate with a more expensive model? Is there a "lemon law". (3 unit failures out of 4) 1st replacement works great. Still love the lock.

Just installed it about 5 days prior on my front door. So far, all is good. The installation only took me about 30 minutes after reading the instructions. It's nice not to have to dig for a key each time I leave or enter my front door. It works off a 9 volt battery. It is suppose to alert the user of a low battery, however, I've been unable to determine what the alert is, e.g. a flashing light or audible beep. I'll have to do more research. The deadbolt lock does have an external key option which I've tested and it works. The numbers are NOT lighted which makes it a little difficult to see in low light conditions, however, the individual numbers are raised. This lock can't be used with a telephone app. Also, some electronic deadbolt door locks will automatically lock after about 30 secs. This particular lock does not have this feature, which I like, since I don't want to step outside for a minute or so and then have to enter the key code just to unlock the door.

I really like this product. It was easy to install and works very well with the app. Great addition to my home. It would be nice if Google home works with it. Right now Google Home only locks the door, unlike Alexa that's both opens and locks the door.

The lock was very easy to install. We connected the app to WiFi. It has been working without any problem. We like the feature automatic locking after a set time. Before we always worry about whether the door is locked or unlocked, now we can check the app to know the status of the lock. The only thing that Schlage can improve by adding a sensor to lock the door only when the door is closed. Right now if the door is open to the set time, the lock is activated.

I bought two of these (this one at the store and the rectangular one online). I installed one as instructed; and all, including WiFi hookup, worked without a hitch. I needed to adapt the second one to our $950 lockset. The issue I faced was that this device uses a horizontal lock tailpiece. My door uses a vertical tailpiece. This lock will not work correctly without a horizontal tailpiece configuration. To resolve my issue, I disassembled by lockset, cut a horizontal tailpiece receiver slot, reassembled my lockset, and installed this device. It works as advertised.

Love it ! Don’t worry about misplaying keys in and out the house! Don’t worry about forgetting locking the door yet or not. Look and feel nice on the door and everyone is happy with their own codes to track who out and in the house at anytime.

I bought this after my daughter was locked out of the house one day because she forgot her key. We have a spare key in a lock box but she wasn't aware of it. I thought by using this we could avoid copying keys for relatives. I ran into multiple issues during the install which were not addressed in the manual. I wish I had the time to read all of the reviews here online before making a purchase. I would have saved a lot of time. Overall I'm happy with the product but I wish the installation process was easier. I like the color as it matches the doorknob and the wooden door and trim. Overall this took three days of on/off work and four trips to Home Depot. 1. Had to make the hole bigger. The original hole was 1 1/2" in diameter. I had to go back to the store to get a 2 1/8" hole saw drill bit. 2. Had to find a YouTube video to figure out how to use the key with the lock. Nothing in the directions about the key operation. 3. Only one of my keys would work with the lock. I had the lock re-keyed to match my other Schlage locks and I realized I used a copy of a key. That copy would work in this lock and my other locks. The other keys I had wouldn't work in this lock. I had to have the lock re-keyed a second time with an original key. 4. Home Depot only had one person who could re-key these locks. I waited an hour for him to arrive to help me. I had him make me multiple keys and tested all of them when I got home in this lock and my existing locks. I recycled the copies. 5. After getting the lock installed I tried to close the door and found the twist handle was hitting the handle for the storm door because the handles stuck out too far. I had to rotate the storm door handle 90 degrees so the house door would close properly.

I like the push button entry. It makes it easy to get into the house, especially at night. It gives me a sense of security.

I could not connect with my phone

Great door lock and very easy to install and use. I like that I can control it with my phone and with a regular key and I don't need to buy a hub. The delivery was very fast and free, I ordered it and got it the very next day.

Easy to install and set up individual access codes. Family loves it. Soon will connect to a Samsung SmartThings hub for remote control, monitoring and proximity access.

I have now installed 6 of these with several more to go over the last 2 years. There is a reason I went with Schlage. To start at the beginning, their packaging is great. Everything is laid out well and organized well. Here are some of my thoughts and experiences: The instructions are clear and with just enough detail. The provided templates are easy to use should you need them. I used their smart deadbolts with the matching doorset in Camelot Aged Bronze style as well. They are ANSI Grade 1 deadbolts which are the most secure on the ANSI grading scale of 1-3. Many of the other smart locks are Grade 2. Additionally, they provide a higher quality of screw and security plate to attach to the doorframe. The keybad is smudge and fingerprint resistant. It is very responsive and intuitive to use. I also appreciate the little extra bit of security that can be added with a very loud audible alarm that can be triggered as well (if wanted). The lock can be auto adjusted for LH or RH doors (it is not well explained in the manual or online -- it detects it automatically during final setup phase!). They include brand named batteries in the package ( a nice tough as opposed to some no-name generic ones). I like that they also have an included key option (Schlage tumblers tend to be of higher quality and are more resistant to picking/bumping). I like that you don't HAVE to set it up to be a genuine smart lock if you don't want to -- personally, I have only 1 setup since technology is still somewhat iffy and it just provides another way to breakin. They are easy enough to add to your smarthouse if you want (just push a button, pair it with an appropriate hub, download an app...and viola! Instant phone control. It is truly easy and goof-proof). In short, there are now many smart lock setups out there but few offer the convenience, quality, ease of setup and use that Schlage smart locks do. Obviously, I cannot recommend them enough! I have loved having them the last several years. It is wonderful not carrying around house keys anymore.

I've had two of these now. I purchased the first one and within a year it stopped unlocking using the keypad. The knob will just spin after entering the code without engaging the lock. Schlage warrantied the lock without any hassle. The second one they sent me stopped working the same way the first one did again within a year after installation. I have submitted it for warranty now. Don't waste your time with this lock. There's better choices.

Just the lock I was looking for. Compliments my new front door perfectly. Have not linked to Echo, yet, though. The locking mechanism works smoothly. I love it. Would recommend with confidence.

This lock looks great and works very well. It was easy to install in just a few minutes. I had this re-keyed at the store to match my original keys. That was also great. I liked the option that you manually turn the lock after the electronics activate the function. I think this will save on battery life, since the battery doesn't have to move the bolt. You just remove the two screws on the inside faceplate, replace the battery and reattach the faceplate. The keys are large and spaced far enough apart so you don't accidentally push two buttons at once, or the wrong button. The keypad works great and the buttons press very well. It is very easy and simple to lock and unlock. Batteries are easy to replace. I'm very pleased with my purchase.

My husband installed it yesterday and we like it a lot. It looks good on our door, functions great, and I feel safer now after changing locks to this. Install was not easy but not too bed. Reason why I gave it four stars is that we've only had it for 2days.

Easy to install. No fuss with keys. I have 3 exterior doors and they all have this lock. Took less than 5 minutes to install each.

Love this lock and the fact I don't have to carry a key. This is our second lock, same model, just updated. The first one lasted us 10 years before it had any issues. The finish is durable and looks great.

Installed about a month ago. Much more robust then the original Schlage lock on the door. Be prepared to enlarge the holes in your door. (Lock 2 1/8 ", bolt 1".) Feel much more secure with new lock. Looks good. Easy to operate. Very glad I bought it.

I love the lock color which blends in with my door knob. My son assembled and programmed it. I love the fact that I don't need to look for my key which is sometimes seemingly lost in my purse or that I lose time trying to find my door key on my key chair. My family and I can quickly put in the code to lock and unlock. I feel safer that stray keys are not entering my home as before. We haven't tried programming other codes. It's great that the lock comes with a key. I plan to buy another keypad lock for my studio. I love the design and ease of use.
