Easy to use. Good waterproofing solution.

Really only time will tell how well this product holds up, but being that not only is it supposed to stop water from infiltrating outside the shower wall, but it also basically holds up the entire tile installation, I have high expectations for it. Pros: - Supposed to keep water infiltration into the substrate to a minimum. - Nice grid print to help keep tiles nice and straight. Cons: - Expensive. Each roll is $119, and will only cover two walls (if shower is 36"x36"). So, you will have to buy two rolls and have very expensive waste left over. SUGGESTION: Cut any remaining membrane into five-inch wide strips and use for taping joints and corners. This will save you money by not having to buy Kerdi Band tape. - Hard to handle. It's like hanging wallpaper, except you are using mortar to bond the paper to the wall. - You should only be using Schluter unmodified thinset to stick the membrane to the substrate and the tile to the membrane. Custom Blend is garbage, and will make it impossible to file a claim with Schluter should the installation fail. Why does Home Depot not sell Schluter mortar with it's other Kerdi products? One last, if you have never installed this before, find every video that you can about installing this stuff and watch it before you even think about buying this stuff.

My husband and I are amateurs who have done a lot of DIY projects with tile. We have tried working with the Kerdi membrane twice now, and we are giving up on it. Getting the adhesive just right so the stuff will stick adequately requires more skill and patience than we have, despite our experience. We are in the middle of a shower project, and spent a frustrating, messy couple of hours yesterday to get half-way through installing the membrane, with barely 50% of it actually sticking. We are going to rip it out today and go with Red Guard instead.

I have used this product before. It maybe an added expense to the project, but it is worth it. It would be a complete waste of time and money to cut costs and discover the tiled walls failed. Call it insurance. You don't need it, but it is a protection to your home.

This product is very user friendly, easy to follow instructions. I would use it in every shower

I needed large patches over the Kurdi foam board but I realized later that the material is thicker than I expected. I should have ordered the tape. The membrane is strong but easy to cut. It sticks to mortar pretty well but buildup is a problem for 2in overlap requirements. May be there should be wider tape like 10 inches as an option.

When using this product use the directions and you can't fail. Kerdi will work for you as a complete waterproofing system behind your tiles. Do not worry if you get thin set on the top of the Kerdi. It will have more thinset on it when putting up your tiles. Have some fun !

Good product and easy to work with. Some thinset will not work with this product so check before applying. Much easier to use this on shower base than Otey liner. This product works well when applied properly.
