The most common reason a lawn does not respond to fertilizer is soil pH. Soil pH must be between 5.5-7.5 for fertilizer to be absorbed by grass. You may wish to complete a soil pH test. If daytime temperatures go above 85 or below 55, the grass and weeds may go dormant and not absorb the product.
