For best results, the soil pH must be between 5.5 and 7.5 for the fertilizer to be absorbed by the grass and should receive at least an inch of water per week. Be sure to apply to lawn when it is out of dormancy as a dormant lawn will not absorb or use the fertilizer. Thatch over 1/2" thick will prevent the nutrients from getting to the plants. When mowing, be sure mower blades are sharp and do not remove more than 1/3 of the grass blade at a time. Cutting more than that or having dull blades will rip the grass causing browning of the tips.

bottle sucks
Product is great but the bottle outright sucks. It leaks at the connection right from the begining of application. Pull slightly on the hose without supporting the connection and it will immediately separate. Once that happens, the rest of the bottle is a waste. It will not go back together, not that it was ever a good connection anyway!

What is the rate per gallon for this product?
What is the rate per gallon setting on a dial applicator? I have purchased liquid turf builder plus 2 weed control and the bottle isn't working so plan B is use another applicator.

This product is a ready spray, and does not require mixing or measuring. NOT for use in a Tank Sprayer. Simply attach it to your hose and spray. It's automatically mixed with water from your garden hose at the correct dilution rate. If product is not working/siphoning correctly, we recommend disposal per label directions.

Great product

Great Product to apply No Issues
I bought this product based on Scotts previous standards. I recently had my entire yard replaced with Zoysia sod and this is the first feeding (6 Weeks) All I can speak to now is application and will follow up with results. Product was very easy to handle, no leaks, even constant flow/spray and completely emptied bottle of product. I am planning to apply second bottle in 2 weeks.

Tiffany in customer support was great
I have always liked Scott’s product, but this time didn’t work as well. No matter how long I sprayed the bottle never got empty. But I reached out to customer support and spoke with Tiffany, she was fantastic has issued me a refund and sent me a coupon to boot. These kind of things happen all in all scotts is a great product and I will add another review once I get it and hopefully that works. Thank you. Good day..

Not dispensing
I purchased two bottles of Scotts Liquid Turf Builder Lawn Food, 32 fl. oz. Like so many others, no matter how long I spray the container stays full. The product does not come out, just plain water.

Nothing comes out but water
The dispenser acts like it is working but really the bottle is still full after an hour. That really is an issue. I have bought lots of Scott’s products in the past with no problem. Scott’s, you have a quality glitch! Don’t buy.

Not bad

I have used other products similar to this with in the Turf Builder family and have gotten better results. I would probably buy this product in the future, but would rather buy a product that includes weed killer in it.

Works great on brown spots.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Works great on dead spots. I used the whole bottle on two large brown areas and they are almost completely green again after a month. The nozzle was being weird but I was able to fix it it didn’t want to spray at all at first.

Product does not dispense
I purchased two bottles of Scotts® Liquid Turf Builder® Lawn Food. After connecting to my garden hose and spraying for 25 minutes none of the Liquid Turf Builder the other bottle and none of it came out either. I had a bottle of Cutter Backyard Bug control and sprayed it with my hose and it worked perfectly emptying the bottle completely. I then drilled a hole in the Scott bottle and poured it into the Cutter bottle and then it dispensed perfectly out of that bottle. Scotts definitely has a problem with the bottle that they sell their product in. I will not be buying Scotts liquid products ever again!

Sprayer is damaged
I love this stuff, but my sprayer got damaged. I have a generic sprayer, but I cannot locate the correct ratio to water. (ie: 2 tablespoons, 1/4 cup, etc). I cannot find who to contact either. This is not good.

Looking good lawn

Used it on one half and left the other half alone. What an obvious difference! The turf builder side is greener, thicker and in general looks healthy. Can’t wait to now apply the product to the remaining area for the best looking lawn on the street

Best for small yards

It might be a better solution for someone with a small patch of grass. It wasn’t really much of a solution for me and my large yard. I think I will stick to the walk-behind spreaders & granulated product.

Same as all the others, dispenser doesn't work
Bought 2 bottles at 2 different times...neither one dispensed the product. Like everyone else I wasted a bunch of time. Time is money...don't waste it with this product.

Ah-mazing

Easy to use

Sprayer
Sprayer still does not work correctly after others have expressed concerns over the years. DO NOT BUY...waste of money and time. Only water is coming out of the sprayer, nothing from the bottle itself....yes its on the On position, not the WATER position.
