SharkBite pipe connectors are a God send and a must for modern DIYers. My individual shut off valves leaked which meant no soldering the copper pipes without shutting off the whole house -- others don't like that. So I had to switch to SharkBite and then when my OLD connecting copper tee joint broke (was bad from the beginning), I had to replace everything with SharkBite. An impossible, in the celling, soldering operation turned into a very simple operation. Note, the included picture is looking up into the ceiling above the shower ;-)

Works
Old 1/2" compression fitting has been a leak issue for quite a while. Cut a new piece of pipe, cleaned and connected to the old feed line, and snapped in nicely with no leaks. This is my 3rd Sharkbite coupling; the other two were 1" copper, and after a few years, no issues at all.

Very easy to install. Specially for tight places where tradicional solder type is hard to work. No special tools required.

    Great for quick fix
This is the first time I used SharkBite for an emergency repair and I am very happy I did. Toilet tank lid fell on the shutoff valve which cracked the elbow inside the wall. I had to use a coupling to extend the ½ PVC through 2X4 into an Elbow and a Shutoff. SharkBite had it all and made the entire repair easy and quick. This is great for DIYers.

Man! Redoing a bathroom has never been easier. I was stressed to put in a shower behind tile but I have used in other areas of my home and no problem

        Wow!
Just saved about $700 by doing it myself. Between this and YouTube you can do it yourself! Had a pipe burst due to the recent cold snap and decided to give it a try. I have to admit I was a bit nervous but it worked perfectly!

          Run Away!
The orange C clamp to remove these things only works if you have two unattached pipes in your hands. Otherwise you need an ape to remove an existing pipe and the force just caused me to bang into my other pipes and break them. Of course shark bite company does not have a place for a customer reviews. This has happened more than a couple of times to me.

SharkBite brass coupling for copper-to-PEX connection.
Push-to-Connect coupling made it easy for me to replace copper tubing with PEX and make a copper-to-PEX connection for the laundry room water lines. Just follow the instructions and make sure you mark your depth gauge every time. Once it's locked in place, you're all set!

Hello, we are sorry to hear about the leaks you experienced with the 1/2 in. SharkBite Coupling. The main reason for failure is not pushing the fitting to the full insertion depth. A 1/2 in. SharkBite fitting requires 15/16 in. in order to create a seal. We recommend marking this depth on the pipe before installation. Kitchen Remodel
The wife and I decided to do a kitchen remodel ourselves because we're crazy. Our Kitchen sink cabinet needed to be replaced because of an old leak from a faucet sprayer line. Our plumbing lines are PEX which at the time I thought they were PVC. Not knowing the difference between the two, I called my local plumber and showed him a picture of what I had and he explained to me that my lines were PEX. Anyway we took out the old lines and put new ones in using the Shark Bites. The old lines didn't have shark bites. they were press or shrink fitted and had to be completely cut out. Using the shark bites made the job EXTREMELY easier for me since I am a rookie plumber. During the remodel I had to connect, reconnect, disconnect again, reconnect again, multiple, multiple, multiple times. The shark bites made that process again so much easier to work with. I thought after disconnecting them so many times that they would for sure leak. NOPE!! On the last time I had to connect and reconnect the Shark Bites, one of the white pieces came out. I thought for sure that it would now leak. I put the white piece back in correctly and no issues what so EVER!! You definitely get your $$$ worth with the shark bites. All my connections are shark bites. Including the shut off valves. As you can imagine I highly, highly, recommend these for a plumbing issue, repair, or replacement of any kind.

Very easy to use and simple to installed. Had to replace the Tempering Valve on the hot water line of my furnace. Using one SharkBite 1/2" 90 degree elbow and three 1/2" couplings. I was able to remove the valve and assorted sweat (soldered) fittings and install my new assembly in less then 2 hours. No leaks, looks great and I can set my hot water temperature perfectly.

While replacing the water supply into my home, it was necessary to replace several feet of copper pipe. I didn't wish to break the seal on my water meter, I cut the outlet from the meter, cleaned the short piece of copper and connected the new plumbing with SharkBite. Also, on the far end of the system, the new copper required connection very near electrical wiring. Again, used SharkBite. You just need to debur the ends of the copper, in my case, and simply push on the SharkBite. Sure beats risking other parts of your home when it is not necessary. I can sweat solder with not problem, but didn't wish to cause other issues, I used SharkBite in those two areas.

I attempted to replace my bathtub spout by using a monkey wrench to twist it off. It seemed to be frozen because I couldn't twist it off by hand. Using the monkey wrench I was able to twist the spout but to my surprise I was only twisting the copper pipe within which ended up snapping off. I knew at that point I either needed to call a plumber or find a solution that would allow me to attach a new copper pipe without the need for a blow-torch and soldering expertise. Thank goodness I took the time to search and research because I found the SharkBite system. I purchased a 2ft length of copper pipe and cut it to the appropriate length, 2 two-ended SharkBite connectors and one Sharkbite elbow connector. After accessing the shower pipe system from behind the wall ( I had to cut through the drywall from the garage) I was able to remove the old copper pipe and add my new copper pipe with the SharkBite connectors. All in all the job took about 60 careful minutes. After multiple uses I have no leaks. I now feel comfortable enough to seal up the drywall openings I created because I'm confident I won't have any leaks. I highly recommend SharkBite as an alternative to hiring a plumber.
