I wanted to use these earth anchors for ground mount racks for solar panels. Remove the rubber cap off the driver rod supplied with the anchors. I pre-drilled the hole with a 3/4" drill bit 16" down. I used a hammer drill to pound the earth anchor down into the ground 29". I put pliers on the driver rod, twisted and it came right out. I pulled up on the cable to rotate the anchor into the lock position. I now have the anchor 28" into the ground. I hooked up a uni-strut tripod, come along and a Electronic Crane Scale to test the earth anchor. I put 1505 lbs on the anchor and it held. I came back 15 minutes later and the scale read 1377 lbs. When I dismantle the test setup, I notice that the cable had some slippage at the Shelter Logic cable clamps. The Crane Scale uses 7 segment LEDS and therefore the numbers do not show up when recording. They are constantly blinking when recording with phone.

Waste of time and money!!!
I'm enjoying my new Round Shelterlogic garage but I must say, so much trouble with these anchors. Started with the 15 inch augers supplied with the kit but no chance there. I had bought the 30 inch augers to reinforce the garage but I was wasting my time. Augers wouldn't go in the earth properly so I had to return them. They were nice to take them back. So then I decided to try these out, oh boy what a headache!!! The driving rod bent on the first pilot hole, I had another box with another one so I went to drive the first anchor in and the thing got stuck!! Finally, I had to improvise to put in all anchors in since I couldn't bring these back, once they are in they will do the job.......still a waste of my time and money...big time!!! I should've stuck with my original plan and anchor on my own!!

Not going anywhere
The anchor kit was used on the telescope shed I built for my astronomy site. The wind can get pretty strong at times so I used 6 anchors, one in each corner and one in the middle, front and back. I don't believe the building is going anywhere.!

The loop is not swaged, unlike another duck-bill soil anchor I've used. You have to create a loop with a u-bolt (provided). This is more versatile, but takes more time and depends on proper tightening.

Storm proofed now
I used for my patio that is built from wood and steel roofing 18ft x 12ft and a was concerned if the wind storm could lift that up so now it's anchored with that so now it should keep it thier in a good storm as we are getting more of them and stronger as well thank you

Not going anywhere.
Box was a mess and short two clamps, glad I checked before driving home. HD customer service gave me replacement clamps no questions asked. Did the end loops first it's easier when you hold the clamps in a vise. Somewhat challenging to install. Drove the rod in first to create a pilot hole and then the anchors. It was difficult but I got them all in. Pulled them into place and they all seated fine. More than enough holding strength for my 6' X 5' steel shed. If you have rocky soil you might have a problem,
