A bad wind storm blew down part of our old wood fence, so we needed to replace on two sides. We didn't want another wood fence & our neighbors wanted brick/vinyl (expensive), so we compromised with the Simtek Ashland collection that LOOKS like wood but is more durable. We couldn't find any local companies to install it for us, so we ended up installing it ourselves - first 20' on one side set with metal brackets bolted to the concrete, then another 60' set in-ground with Sika foam fence post mix on the other side a few months later when the weather was more cooperative. The ugly existing rotted warped wood stick fence around our lot made our newly renovated house look decrepit, these new solid surface panels instantly transformed our curb appeal, sound dampening, privacy, durability & peace of mind. No more hints through the slats of neighbors walking around on their side, there are NO gaps between or under the panels. It's been a few years now & while the last wood section of fence has degraded significantly, our Simtek sections still look amazing. The last wood section will eventually have to be replaced as well, we will use the same Simtek & Sika products again, highly recommend. Our HOA loved the finished fence as well & endorsed it as "acceptable" without requiring review to anyone else who wants it in our neighborhood.

i have a deck 8 feet off ground and i simply cut off bottom off posts with the point intended for ground install. then bolted to decking like a normal 4x4 post. it has a steel angle embedded in material for strength. just driiled and used 1/2" carriage bolts and simpson strong ties. very pleased. looks great with my trex lava rock

This is amazing quality fence. The only issue I had was with installation. You are supposed to dig 30" x 10-12" holes and use 3 bags of concrete to set the posts. The instructions then say when set, install the panels by flexing the post back, and sliding the panel in. Well let me tell you those posts don't flex nearly enough, and I had to lift them to the top 6ft and slide them down in. This turned out to be a major problem where my soffit overhangs the fence. I didn't have enough overhead clearance to get the panels in. The gate post was especially stiff, as it has extra steel reinforcement and would not flex at all. Just be aware you may not be able to flex the posts enough to install the panels without sliding in from the top. Make sure you plan for this. Otherwise, an outstanding product.

These people are criminal. I spent a fortune on this fence. I have not had it a year and we got hurricane Irma. My area received 40 MPH winds gusting to 80. They advertise 110-120 MPH sustained winds on their site. Every post is bent. Not leaning because of the ground, since each post calls for 160 pounds of concrete. The posts are literally bent. Some were mounted on top of contcrete and it sheared the posts right off of their cheap metal brackets. If you buy this fence, it will not weather even tropical storm force winds that we received in our area. Never again! Then they put you off for a month like they are going to cover you under warranty and send you a letter telling you your out of luck. I should have known during their terrible customer service and ordering problems this was not a company worth dealing with.

We recently installed this fence ourselves and it was relatively easy. It does look like wood but I like the fact that there is no upkeep required, such as staining. We have had lots of positive comments. The color is just what I had hoped for.

I place my first side of fence last summer on my concrete retaining wall next to my pool and with all the wind storms we have had I have not had a problem so I will say this fence material are pretty good. I just bought more to finish my other side.

The panels are great. Unfortunately, the line post that I need to install the panels is out of stock.

No one will take or pick up the pallets.

You didn’t have the amount I needed to complete my project

We love the fence, it is made well, of high quality, and looks expensive. The only bad thing I can say about the fencing is that it takes forever and a day to get the posts in. We have installed most of the fencing but for 3 months now have been waiting to receive 8 posts in order to complete the job. But what we have installed looks amazing.

While this fencing product is a bit more expensive than traditional wood, we love the look and longevity it promises. Our fencing installers took a bit longer to get it installed because this product requires exact precision with measurements. If you aren't installing it yourself, make sure you get a qualified installer who really knows what they are doing. Awesome product!

Beautiful fence, very well made and much nicer option from your typical pvc or wood fences. Truly the best of both worlds.

I ordered fence panels and posts on June 29. Today is August 24 and I finally got the fence panels but still waiting for the posts. The panels appear very light and flimsy. I'm a 65 yr old woman with arthritis and I was able to unload the panels from the back of the truck. Won't know how it holds up in "100mph winds" until I can actually have it installed - whenever the posts come in. If I had known it would take over 6 weeks to get this stuff I wouldn't have ordered them. They don't waste any time charging your credit card, despite the long wait time for the item to come in.

Great looking panels! Very happy with the fence. Easy to install, however, be prepared for heavy lifting and digging. Panels need to people to install. Everything else can be done by one person. A lot easier with 2 people.

This product is difficult to work with. It requires far more time to install than normal fencing, and the recommended openings for the gates are too generous. The fence it basically a “giant sail” as it catches wind easily. It if frighteningly expensive and the finished appearance is cheap in relation to the price. Also: wait times for your parts are horrible: my 6 panels and 2 gates took over 8 weeks to arrive.

Light weight and stays in place oretty easy.

We love this fence. Has a beautiful look, sound proofing was a major bonus. The fact that it has the same look on both sides of the fence was a major benefit for the neighbor as well as us. We are thrilled.

It matches well with our current panels.
