I utilized this product for an other than intended purpose, which was to repair a broken vinyl fence rail. I straightened the tabs out flat and screwed one piece on top & another on the bottom to secure the rail. Worked great

Did not fit on 6x6 (5.5 x 5.5) posts like...
Did not fit on 6x6 (5.5 x 5.5) posts like they were supposed to. Trying to connect to 2 x 10 double beam. Was able to make them work by installing at an angle on the post. Would have been easier to just notch the post and use lag bolts.

When I work alone I find it easy to attach these (example: building a fence) onto the vertical post then lay the horizontal post on them which holds them in place till I can fasten them in. Ever try to put a pole in place 4 feet off the ground by yourself and you'll understand what I'm saying. Love them!

This is junk just like the 6x6 post base...Dont buy
Do not buy this product. It does not have enough strength for anything. The profile is very low as well. So, if you are using a large beam across this post, this product will NOT handle it. Better to get something made or use something else. Also, do not buy the 6 x 6 post base.... they sell... That is the biggest waste of money for 20 bucks each.
