I’ve had the machine for five months. So far, it has been a dream to operate. Hemmed several pairs of denim overalls, made a baby quilt, working on a queen quilt now. If you quilt, invest in a 1/4” presser foot. I learned the hard way that it’s hard to judge where 1/4” falls with this machine. Also, if it’s available at time of purchase, buy the extended table. It is not available at Singer online to purchase.

I love the features, easy bobbin winding, easy threading, needle threading, and lots of beautiful stitches. The only glitch I have found is while trying to see over a thick spot in the project. It made a horrible noise, scaring me to death then flashed a code. Got the tablet out to find out what the code was. Said I had a mess in the bobbin case. Turned it off and on Again. And all is well.

I was donating washable face masks for the healthcare workers, due to the PPE shortage, and while I was on my 900th mask my machine started having issues. I ordered this machine early the next morning and was surprised it was delivered the very next day! Thank you Singer!

I've never had a sewing machine before and this is a great first one! Love it! I'm making masks for family and friends and so happy i was able to get it and start sewing! Also my mom has the exact same one so we are twins! she is helping me make masks also!

I bought this sewing machine and it keeps saying error. Does anyone know how to fix that or do I have to return it? There is no help line phone numbers inside the box.

Piece of garbage stopped working after a month. There are no authorized service centers anywhere near me and I can't return this. Do not buy! I should have listened to people who said that Singer has been junk for decades. Next time I'll spend a little more on a quality brand.

This is the first computerized machine that I’ve bought, and I’m glad I went for it. It’s been going strong for nearly a year, used almost daily for my small business, and it’s a nice little workhorse. The only complaint I have is that I was really looking forward to the automatic threader, which hasn’t functioned properly after I changed the needle. The needle that the machine came with was screwed in so tightly, and I think it messed with the alignment of the threader when I finally unscrewed it. Now it bumps the presser foot assembly if I try using a zigzag stitch. Not too big of a deal, because I use a manual Singer machine for zigzagging. I’d definitely recommend this machine to anyone looking for a good entry level computerized machine.

I have used this model for about 6 months now and so have a few comments... POSITIVES 1. As with other models, the automatic tensioning feature is very welcome, especially for novices such as myself. That saves much time fiddling with manual tensioning. 2. The large selections of stitches is nice, although I'm thinking that I'll only use a small fraction of them 3. The slider that fixes the max stitching rate is also good for beginners like me. 4. Ability to move the needle either left or right of center is better than some older models that provide this movement in only one direction. 5. Seems somewhat forgiving if one makes a setting or sewing error that results in a jam. NEGATIVES 1. The screw which holds the needle in place is clearly overly long and can result in it painfully coming on down on one's right hand. This is just a poor design. 2. The free space to the right of the needle is limited. I suspect that this is due to relatively cheap construction of the cantilevered part of the machine... that is, use of relatively light/thin/too flexible construction materials, which then limits the amount of free space. 3. Although the packaging makes a big deal about the lighting, it is pretty poor, even when compared to an old-fashioned incandescent bulb. It is not diffused lighting and is not that bright. It ends up creating bright reflections off of the chrome-finished metal parts. 4. The transparent plate over the bobbin is cheapish. Unlike the traditional plate, this one does not slide out of the way. Rather, you remove the whole thing. The negatives seem to all reflect compromises in the design. Some (like that finger-pinching needle screw_ could have been easily avoided. I ONLY recommend this model if one is aware of these limitations.

I had this machine for several years and never had a problem. Used it for sewing denim handbags even. I decided to upgrade to a heavy duty machine so I gave this away and now I’m sorry! I’m considering purchasing it again.

I was sewing on this machine and noticed the bobbin holder broke. When I called singer to try and get it fixed, they couldn't help me because it was a few weeks after the 1 year warranty expired. Now, I have an unusable machine.

So far, I really love this machine. It’s easy to set up and use and sews great. It’s also a lot more quite than my old machine and doesn’t have the same thread problems that the other did

I own 7 of these for sewing classes. Great little machine.

I bought this a few years ago and hardly used it. Since then I have been quilting for the past year. Yes I have quilted my own smaller quilts without a problem. I have had it serviced, not because of a problem, and told to make sure I oil it and I do. I love my machine and have definitely gotten my moneys worth out of it.

Awesome little machine

I was looking for a second sewing machine for setting up a sewing center at my daughter's home to use in the down time while I nanny for my granddaughter. I sew dresses and shorts for mission and I was looking for a machine that provided a nice stitch, double needle capability and the ability to select the needle down position when you stop sewing. It has all that and it also has a wide array of decorative stitches. I have tried a few and I must say they turn out very nicely. I have also acquainted myself with the self threading needle feature and use it all the time now. My aging eyes appreciate this feature! Overall this machine is user friendly and has many intuitive features. I highly recommend this machine! It is perfect for my needs. It is a great value for the price!

We bought this for my neice for her first machine and she loves it! She knows how to sew but this machine has made her even better - and she said it is easy to use!

I ve been using Singer sewing machines for many years and it is definitely one if the best brands of affordable sewing machines on the market. Love this model, so precise and easy to use!

I have owed Singer sewing machines for 40 years. My first machine was the Singer Aethena 2000 which I used for 40 years when it finally quit working and could not get the parts for it. Now I have the 7258 Sewing Machine. It is great I have made all type of items and it is easy to use. I am so pleased with the performance of the machine. I look for it to be a long time product too.

So terrible. The only stitch that I can do on it is a straight stitch, no other stitch will show up. I think it is because of the way you thread the bobbin since its horizontal the thread doesn't stay in place so the bobbin doesn't get wound properly

I love this sewing machine. It is easy to get started and to use but it can also do complex stitching etc. I really like it. It also has a handle which makes it very portable.

Love, love, love my new machine!!!!!!! Super easy to use and all the stitches are amazing. Have done a lot but have many more plans. Definitely recommend!!!!!

Got it for my 16 yr old daughter for Christmas she never used a sewing machine before, and she was making clothes for herself after one day! Great easy to use with some fun stitches to try out. Also tons of good singer videos on YouTube

This is my first sewing machine and I really love it! Very easy to use (YouTube video is extremely helpful). Can’t wait to do many projects in the future.

I’ve always bought the cheaper sewing machine options previously but when my machine died, I decided to take the plunge on something nicer. And WOW is this nicer! So smooth, much quieter than I’m used to, easy to use. I’m a casual sewer: I make Halloween costumes and hem/take in my kids’ clothes but I don’t sew everyday. This is nicer than I “need” but I love it!

I don’t see a ton but I see fairly often. I learned to sew on this machine 8 years ago and it has been very forgiving, from beginner to not-super-wise-or-patient intermediate sewist. I have had exactly one issue with this machine over the years and it ended up being my own fault. I had snagged the oil wick while cleaning that area and it was keeping the bobbin casing from moving freely. Once I remedied that, it was back to smooth sailing. I’m glad I started with this machine—very easy to use, but came with plenty of accessories and versatility to grow into.

I have had this machine for 6 years. I love the fact that I can operate it without the foot pedal. Convenient for travel. Don't have to haul the pedal when I take it on site. Only the cord.
