The Snapper XD 82-volt cordless, 26-inch double-edge hedge trimmer is a Briggs and Stratton Power Product. The trimmer comes with a blade cover and a detailed Owner’s Manual that includes a parts list. The manual also includes instructions for the maintenance of the battery and charger. The trimmer weighs approximately 12 pounds with the 82-volt, 2 amp-hour battery installed. The actual cutting length is 24 inches. The overall length of this tool is about 46 inches. The end of the cutting bar and blade cover includes a hanging hole so that this trimmer can be hung up for storage with or without the blade cover in place. The only con I have for this trimmer it does not come with a charger or battery which must be purchased separately. Charging the 2 amp-hour battery took only about 25 minutes due to the battery being partially charged. Safety features include a safety lock button that must be pushed before the speed control trigger is depressed to operate it. A guard between the auxiliary handle and the blade keeps fingers away from the cutter and deflects cuttings away from the operator. If jamming occurs, the problem is easily cleared by pushing the anti-jamming button located next to the On/off power button. That action reverses the cutter twice at slow motor speed. The rear handle can be rotated 90 degrees to the right or left and locks into position. This makes for better control and makes cutting easier when trimming the sides of bushes and shrubs. The trimmer is warranted for 5 years and 2 years on the battery and charger for consumer use. Product registration is required to obtain warranty service for this product. This is the first trimmer I have owned that did not require a power cord which makes trimming bushes less burdensome as well as being safe, no electrical cord to cut.

That being the case, service parts are readily available, for me an important consideration. This trimmer includes a blade cover and easily understood documentation that includes a parts list. This trimmer weighs 9 pounds without the blade cover and 12 pounds, 4 ounces with a Briggs and Stratton 82-volt, 2 amp-hour battery installed. The actual cutting length is 24 inches. The overall length of this tool is about 46 inches. The end of the cutting bar and blade cover includesa hanging holes so that this trimmer can be hung up for storage with or without the blade cover in place. After removing this product and the separately available charger and battery from the shipping cartons, I immediately charged the battery for to use. Charging for the 2 amp-hour battery took only about 18 minutes as the battery was shipped with a charge between 40 and 60 percent. I went to work on shrubs that I normally trim using a 2-cycle gasoline engine-driven hedge trimmer that weighs a few pounds more than this trimmer, including fuel. It was a pleasure working with this trimmer as I found no need to wear ear protection, this tool being relatively quiet during operation. It has ample cutting power. Also making this tool nice to work with is the lack of engine exhaust fumes and the complete lack of a burn hazard from hot surfaces. I used this trimmer for about 15 minutes the first time, noticing that the battery indicator showed that at least 80% of a full charge remained. This is due at least in part to the efficient brushless motor. Safety features include an arrangement that requires two buttons be pushed and that the speed control trigger be pulled to operate it. Product registration is not required to obtain warranty service for Briggs and Stratton products. I have retired my gasoline hedge trimmer as this Snapper XD trimmer works so very well. This product relieves me of the chore of maintaining another gasoline engine as well as the need to mix gas and oil for fueling it. The price for this trimmer plus separately purchased charger and battery is about the same as that for a quality gasoline-powered trimmer.

Well order online and when it came and took it out of the box just blew me away, this is the king of hedge trimmers, can trim up to 1/2" branches. handle rotates 90 deg for working on vertical surfaces, and if you get stuck on a branch has a Anti-jamming button what will open blade and let to get off of the branch. the cutting area is 24 inches so makes thing go much quicker. You can see in pictures, I took to side of my mountain driveway is way 99 degs and around 40%, so I am dripping wet so to hot to do this but wanted to see what it would do. Not sure the exact time but was less than 5 min. to cut that was one pass just walked and cut. OUTSTANDING Snapper hedge trimmer.

A little heavy than I was expecting after battery is inserted but otherwise it cuts quite well.

Very high quality tool. Works very well. My only complaint is the weight with the battery in it is more than most hedge trimmers I have used previously.

Works really well and trims cleanly. Weight is about the same as my electric hedge trimmer. Very pleased with item.

This hedge trimmer really works well on even fairly thick branches of hedges and bushes. It is quite powerful, but also is useful for more delicate shaping. The battery usage is quite efficient, and no problems with it after a tough job on bushes growing over my neighbors fence. It is a work out to use it above your shoulder height, since the battery is fairly heavy.
