The slats that are to be inserted underneath the flat pieces (the boards that touch the mattress) arrived without pre-drilled holes. Because I was unable to return the frame, I drilled my own holes. I am now sitting on a mattress on the floor because my bed broke.
What a waste of money.

Great Platform Bed!
This bed is exactly what I was looking for. Its sturdy and looks great for the price. I have a queen size matress and it fits like a glove. The directions are easy but the illustrations are a bit small. You really need 2 people to put this together and i would recommend a power screwdriver when assembling ( i didnt use one but it would have made it quicker and easier overall). A great bed!!!! I recommend this bed to anyone!

Good product for price
I ordered this platform bed for my daughter. The product was delivered within 2 days. It was fairly easy to assembly although putting the trim on was a little awkward. Feels sturdy and looks nice in her room.

Solid Product - with a few minor flaws
The first thing that struck me was the weight of the unit.
It was delivered by Purolator and must be right on the weight limit of what they accept for delivery - one needs two fairly strong men to carry the package.
Assembly was pretty straight forward - one really needs two people for the part where the two center supports are only held loosely with dowels and one tries to line up and fasten the end supports. Took a few tries even with a helper to complete that part of the assembly.
Word of advice, when fastening the four top panels that the mattress will sit on, make sure they are butted together as tightly as possible - it should really mention this in the instruction.
Mine were tight but I could probably have made them just 1/32 tighter with a mallet - the problem is that if they are not extremely tight the bottom white trim piece ends up being an eights of an inch too short.
As to the minor flaws -
The unit was advertised as having rounded edges, I guess I expected rounded corners of the white trim piece but these corners turned out to be very sharp and an ideal spot to hit your shins on. Rounding these corners could easily have been part of the design without affecting the cost.
The other flaw is the design of the white trim pieces. At each corner of the end of the bed one can see the unfinished particle board when the mattress is on the bed because the mattress corners are rounded, nor square, South Shore could have simply provided a few yards of white edging tape to cover a strip just around the inside of the white trim piece - the same applies to the edge of the particle board the mattress rests on - that is not that visible but a piece of whit tape would have provided a solid white finish around the edge of the bed below the trim piece.
Oh - and the supplied tiny felt tabs are a joke for the size and weight of this bed. I went out and bought longer and more solid felt tabs and used those instead.
