After initial sharpening and stropping, the spokeshave has worked beautifully. I am new to using the spokeshave. It has made shaping curved legs from clear pine a piece of cake.

This is a fun tool. I like the level of control with the two hand grips. While you don't get the production like a power tool, it banks in classic feel and quality of product. Project: repurposed wooden paddle board

This spokeshave is reviewed by Paul Sellers, worth looking at. With just a bit of blade prep and adjusting I was able to get very fine shavings and a smooth finish. However it is made in China not the UK so the handle is a pretty rough cast. Doesn’t make it less useful just not attractive. I would look for one made in the UK. Would be more expensive I’m sure.

The spokeshave arrived timely and in good order. It has already been put to use and it works perfectly.

The screws that adjust the blade are not at the proper angle....very poor quality from Stanley

The handle had the "151" designation imprinted, but I suspect the Stanley 951 model number is for 2nds, which is why they're so cheap. The tapped holes for the adjustment screws were not parallel; the screw on the right side tipped in close to 10 degrees--unacceptable. With a little work to flatten the cap (heavy paint on underside), it could be made workable if the adjustment screws were straight. I returned it and will order another and hope for better.

The Spoke shaver works great as it is intended to. The Iron/Blade comes a bit sharp only needed to be touched up a little and the use a strop.

Rough product surface finish and poor machining accuracy around its groove which is vital to first makes your feelings then would affect the quality of crafted part. Bottom plate that engages with wood was quite rough on unfinished! Retuned.

Inexpensive and well made. Just remember that like every cutting tool the sole will need to be flattened and the blade honed and polished.

Adjustment screws were poorly threaded. Overall, weak machining. Would not buy again.

The tool worked well, but only after I tuned it up and ground away some poor casting imperfections

Hard to believe this tool falls under the same brand as the Stanley Sweetheart planes. This was a pretty much a piece of junk. I spent a few hours tuning it up, flattening the sole, cleaning and flattening the cap iron and not it's ....ok. Get what you pay for.

Believe the other reviews... the manufacturing quality control on this tool is poor. If you are very lucky, you might randomly get a good one, or one with correctable problems, which would make this a good value. I haven't completely given up on mine yet, bit the threaded holes for the two plane iron adjust screws are NOT square with the throat or parallel to each other, so the iron is adjustable only over a very narrow range. So far I've had limited success trying to set up and use this tool.

The spokeshae needed some fine tuning and a good sharpening. Other than that, it is a good tool

Came with a significant defect in the blade. Should never have been shipped.

Site is hard to use. Service at Pocatello, Idaho store…..AMAZING!!!!
