This topper features 4 inches of supportive AeroFusion memory foam infused with gel that cradles the body to relieve pressure points and does not include a cover. We recommend using a mattress pad, protector, or tightly fitted sheet to snuggly fit on the mattress and topper to prevent shifting during the night and add a layer of protection to the memory foam. It is typical for any memory foam product to have a slight odor when removing it from packaging, we recommend allowing the item to sit in a cool, dry area out of all packaging and plastic for at least 48 hours before use to release any trapped odors. There are other factors that may cause a slight smell, such as condensation building up depending on how long it was in transit or if you live in a warmer area the foam could have had a reaction to the heat if the box was left outside or in the sun as it is recommended to avoid putting memory foam in direct sunlight or heat. Hi Winter, thank you for your feedback. The memory foam used in our StyleWell 4 in. Mattress Topper may begin turning a yellow color after some time due to oxidization. This is a completely natural process and oxidization is not harmful or toxic. The discoloration should not effect the comfort or support of your mattress topper in any way. To help prevent and slow down discoloration, we recommend using a fitted mattress pad or protector over your mattress and the topper.
