This leaf mulching machine works great. You can use the mulch leaves around plant beds.

THIS DEVICE WORKS QUITE WELL WITH WET OR DRY LEAVES. I WISH IT HAD A BIGGER HOPPER.

The use thus far has been very good and limited. Because of the weather I have not been using it like I want too.

I'm using it to shred hay for a horse with teeth issues. I wish it had a better way of attaching the bag as that is hard to get attached. It is working just fine on chopping my grass hay and saving me money from buying it chopped by someone else. Right now I'm using the large size as he does not need the fine chop as of yet.

Works great on dry leaves. Wet leaves, not so much. Nearly filled two 30 gallon bags in about an hour, replacing the strings three times. I'd advise wearing ear protection.

Only thing I’d like is fitted bags for this device. For the Home Depot lawn and leaf 30 gallon bags I had to fold them down about 3 inches to fit under the machine well as I couldn’t seem to figure out how the bungee cord system should work

Worked as advertised

Easy to assemble, easy to use. Works best with two people one to pour in the leaves and one to coax them through. Worked very well I managed to shred about 16 bags of leaves for garden mulching in less than two hours including distributing them in the gardens.

Performs as advertised. Be sure to wear safety glasses, and plan to get dirty.

Can’t handle twigs, shredder cords do not last long

You have to push the leaves down into the top of the mulcher. The black rubber gasket keeps the leaves out of the mulcher. Would be better if it didn't restrict the leaves. Makes it take more time and you might mangle a finger pushing the leaves in it. It takes longer to use. It mulches very well.

I was hoping 13 amps would be strong enough, but it wasn't. About 30 minutes into the first use, the motor started to smoke a bit so I shut it off. I tried using it again the next day. About 40 minutes into using it a spark shot out of the air out vent. I shut it off again. I plan on calling the manufacturer to see what can be done. I ended up mulching the leaves with my mower.

it worked great in mulching my leaves I also emptied my grass catcher into it when I used it to pick up my leaves and put them into my mulch pile

Easy to set up, works great.

Best money I have spent in a while. Very easy setup, very easy to use. Leaves were very fine when finished, and great for composting, had enough to give away plenty to some happy gardeners I know.

This shredder has preformed very well, easy assembly, works well on all the different shred settings. A little difficult to clean after using. I wish a reusable collection bag was offered with the machine. I am making my own.

Works well enough when it works but the motor seems to have overheated and has likely burned out after just two uses, only one of which lasted more than 30 minutes. That second session lasted about 2 hours and ended when the overheating occurred. The manual states to wait at last 1 minute before attempting to restart but since I was just a few handfuls away from being done I manually removed the bits that were still in there, scooped up the rest of the leaves from the pile and let it sit overnight only to find that it wont' start. There's a lot of leaf dust on the inside and, like another review I came across, I wonder if the problem has to do with the dust just getting inside the motor. If so, that's an unavoidable issue and what I would consider to be a design flaw. Would not recommend.

The Sun Joe shredder exceeded our expectations. It reduced huge pile after pile of oak and other leaves to just a few lawn-and-leaf bags. The bags hook on underneath so there was no extra work. We shredded the leaves when they were dry, so the bags were very light. We were able to easily transport them and give them to someone with a composting system. The leaf particles are extremely fine, so remember to wear a mask and safety glasses when using the shredder. If you have a lot of leaves you will appreciate this shredder.

Motor burns out after a few seasons. I have had tow of these and both burnt out just after warrantee expired.

I have many trees and collect & compost yard waste. This baby tears them down like a dream.

Worked better than expected

Does an excellent job of mulching. My main complaint is that they have green bands at the bottom which are supposed to allow you to seal around a bag. However, I presume that these only function with a proprietary bag of some sort and therefore any other container is open to the environment. There is a tremendous amount of dust that is generated, enough that it makes it difficult to breathe sometimes and which coats the entire machine. The cord is also a little ridiculous and can't reach anything without an extension.
