Planning is key. I backed my flat bed trailer up to the delivery truck and loaded the 790 pounds (4 large boxes). Then backed into the back yard where the shed was to be built. I also downloaded the instructions prior to the delivery and had the 8x16 deck finished by the time it arrived. I used 15 solid block pillars to level and stabilize the 2x6 treated frame (16" on center), then covered the frame with 3/4" treated plywood. A day or two the day I had time to erect the shed I started assembling all the windows, and roof frames. This took about 4 hours total. On build day I went outside about 10:00 a.m. and had the floor and walls up in about an hour. Placing the roof supports took another 2 hours, the roof itself was about an hour. The doors and screwing the floor down after complete assembly took about an hour. So about 5 hours total building time by myself in 13-15 mph winds. I used 3 6ʻ step ladders to secure the walls until they were all up. I know the directions say 2 people, 2 days and do not do it in the wind. I actually have less than 8 hours in the actual build and about 5 hours in the deck/frame. All by myself. I also used a cordless impact driver for all the tons of screws and bolts you have to put together. Again pre planning is the most important factor. The shed looks great and is really strong. Every screw hole and joint lined up perfectly. Make sure your platform is 100% level and square and it will go up in hours like ours did.

  • room for improvement

Very happy with the appearance and rigidity of the outer shell of this building but there is room for improvement. The uncored plastic floor sandwich collapses under weight of a motorcycle tire. This has nothing to do with the rigidity of the foundation. The soft floor is a big disappointment. Screws into frameless screen cloth? might have worked with a stiff metal screen. I used duct tape. Building is square and level but last roof panel was very difficult to force in. Left front door jams due to too little vertical clearance. Left door security pins are almost too stiff to operate. This is a hardware problem not related to alignment. They are just as stiff with the door open. Rubber gasket for the door windows was unmanageable. The molded clips in the groove would not hold it in place long enough to assemble the window. Curiously the same system provided for the extension windows worked fine.

Very good-looking architecturally. I recommend pouring a concrete slab, but can go on a proper wood foundation. Takes two people about one full day (7am-5pm) to put together, but worth the effort. There are a lot of screws, nut & bolts, so be ready, but it's fairly straightforward.

  • Buyers Beware!!!
  • September 21, 2016

Do not buy this product made by them they do not stand behind their product! One of our panels on the side is bowing out. Our shed is only one-year-old . We have notified Suncast of the problem and they refused to do anything about it! I wish this app had a place to post pictures of this!!!!

Not worth the money. The plastic is way too thin and the floor cracked on the first day of use. The windows are tinted a dark yellow and they block almost all of the light from coming in. It's like a cave inside and you have to use a flashlight. Wouldn't buy again or recommend.
