I'm really enjoying my adventure hat. I've worn it out kayaking and hiking and it works very well to keep the sun off my face and neck. It's comfortable to wear. I love the color and have heard several compliments about it too.

This hat protects well yet keeps you cooler that other sun hats. Love the adjustability -no hat hair. I wore this for a week at the beach and driving in the car ( with sunscreen on of course) and no breakthrough. Awesome. Will purchasing other styles.

After wearing this for 8 days hiking in desert southern Utah at Zion and Bryce Canyon national parks, plus a few other days of testing in NC, these are my impressions: This is one of the most protective hat brims on the market, being about 4 inches, down-sloping and UPF rated. When first trying it on, it may feel a bit large and "overkill" in the store, but when you are outside under the blazing sun, it doesn't feel overkill any more. The effective shelter is appreciated. The fact that the rear is a cape does not just provide more neck protection, but is practical in other ways including that you can look up at the sky without the rear of a rigid brim hitting your shoulder or day pack, etc. It is possible to wear in a car without interfering with the head restraint behind you (also helpful in other seating situations like a rocking chair, bus, etc. And when the wind blows into your face, there is less lift generated by the brim, so the hat is less likely to lift off your head and blow away or tug against the wind cord under your chin. The cape especially provides more neck protection when looking down, as you might do a lot while gardening, digging, etc. The fact that half the brim is soft also means that the stiff half of the brim, which is conical when worn, can lay flat when packed in a suitcase, which makes transporting to vacation destinations easy, and it comes out like new rather than creased and deformed. This ease of travel is one of the best benefits of the hat. I also found it to be nicely breathable, due to the vents, the fabric that is somewhat breathable, and the way the crown and hat band are configured seems to allow space for some circulation inside. The cape does not seem to make it hotter on the neck so far in my experience. Drawbacks: 1) Style. Probably not the most fashionable choice, so wear it when protection is more important than image. Wear one of your other hats instead if a garden party is today's event. This one is perfect for hiking, gardening, desert or mountain environments. and any extreme sun exposure. 2) Wind. This does generally well in the wind except when the wind is blowing hard against your back (like 10-15 mph+). Then the cape will typically flip up onto the top of the hat and stick there, being held by the wind even if you have the velcro patch covered. This exposes your neck to the sun. Other reviewers have suggested attaching a weight to the cape. I tried that by clipping a tiny carabiner, but was not happy with it snagging on my day pack and hitting me on the head during severe wind gusts. The fix I arrived at is to attach a safety pin in the middle of the cape (on the inside surface) and then tie a string around my neck that passes through the open center of the safety pin, leaving a little slack for comfort, but not much. This holds the cape down, is not uncomfortable, and adds almost no weight. A little fussy to set up but only needed in high wind like on clifftop hiking trails on windy days, or probably for sailing. SA could sew a little loop there for that purpose, making the hat more versatile without modification by the user. I found this hat to run large. I normally wear a large, and the S/M size fit me perfectly. The L/XL could be adjusted to fit, but I was kind of swimming in it and it didn't look as good or wear as comfortably. I have 3 different SA hat models that I regularly use, and my wife also has one, and they are high quality, great hats, and worth the price. I burn easily and have skin cancer in my family, so sun protection is essential to me. I have owned or tried just about every possible hat available on the market, and these just work, and they last. Remember to wear sun screen on your face because no hat provides complete protection unless your face is fully masked, which makes it hard to breathe and eat/drink, and is hot. I did not need sun screen on my neck or ears while wearing this hat.

These hats are stylish, comfortable, and pack flat! Great product! Always get compliments and asks about where I got them. I have several in different colors. Waiting for a bright solid orange to wear in the fall. Adjustable.

Great hat for walking in the bright sunny days as the design offers protection to face and back of neck. the wide visor offers shading to face. one caution, with flaps full covering; must stop and watch traffic as it is easy to keep walking without checking vehicles approaching from the sides.

I have been wearing the adventure hat for several years and love them. They are my go to sun hat. I think I am on my 4th or 5th hat. They are very durable.

My new hat was love at first touch. So lightweight and comfortable. The color is attractive and the rear drape is easily modified to be off the neck. Very packable. I will get many years of use out of my purchase which arrived s oon after ordering it. Thank you Sunday Afternoons.

This light weight hat is very comfortable and does an excellent job protecting me from the sun. I appreciate the ability to adjust the fit and roll up the back flap. The silver is a good color, but I would rather have had true white. My husband likes it so much, he ordered one for himself!

I can't say enough about this Adventure Hat. I have several and wear them religiously. I was diagnosed with skin cancer a few years ago and feel confident and safe wearing this particular hat which has a nice front brim and adjustable head band. I hope you continue to keep the adventure hat in your catalog of merchandise!

Broad brim shades my face, back flap covers my neck. First wide brimmed hat I've ever worn that didn't blow off in a 20 - 25 mph wind.

This is the best sun hat ever. I bought one at the gift shop at Saguaro National Park. It covers and protects my face and neck and is light weight. I mainly wear it at the beach and for hiking and walking. I highly recommend it. Recently, I was on a Hudson River cruise and I had not used the chin strap. Unfortunately, a gust of wind came up and the hat flew off into the Hudson River! By that evening I had ordered another one!
