Pump worked perfect to drain pool before closing it

Rented the 1/4 HP pump from HD in past and decided it would be a good idea to go ahead and purchase a similar slightly more powerful pump for pool draining. Pool was already 90% drained prior to first use. Product lasted less than 1 hour. Shuts off. Unplugged and waited an hour. Now runs for less than 5 minutes before it shuts off again. Cleaned and the shut downs continue. Return.
Do not recommend this product.

This is a odd thing to have happen and may be something simple to correct.

The pump functioned as specified much unlike a prior pump that I had purchased and seems like a good buy at least for my short-term use.

Submersible pump is great for residential use. Verified user and pleased with this pump. This is my 3rd Superior pump.

Works great to recycle the kids water slide / pool. dont have to keep the water running all day. saves big $$ on water bill.

The pump is going to be OK if the flow rate is not too low. It is about 4 gallons per minute. Per the manufacturer's specifications, it should be at least 20 gallons per minute.

Worked great
Used this to drain my above ground pool. It is a 22 ft round and it was half full took about 2 days but it was also very dirty.
