A five-pack seems unusual but it actually worked out fine for my project since I needed 3 stretchers in the front of the vanity I built and two for the sides at the end of the shelf at the bottom. The pieces had some sapwood but not a lot and so I was able to conceal most of it rather than be troubled with special dye stain technique to hide it. Like the two 2"x2"x 8' pieces of walnut from Swaner, these had some saw marks that I don't expect to see of S4S lumber. It should all be run through saw and planer at dimensions that leave it ready to sand. That is especially true at this price. I had extra prep work because of this. There were not knots that created issues and the packaging was good. Swaner just needs to look at the dimensioning of its wood and the processes related to it.

Not good
As stated this was a 5 piece bundle, unfortunately only 3 of the pieces were usable. Two of the pieces were bowed to the point of making them unusable. None of the boards were the same width varying between 2.5 and 2.625 inches. The product did ship quickly and arrived on time. Hence the 2 stars rather than 1.

all boards arrived reasonably straight, with low/no cupping/bowing. the planer's finish on the surface was a bit rough, but workable. shipping was pretty slow in comparison to today's next-day-delivery expectations, but it was well packaged to avoid damage.
