The Tap-cons work great, but the drill bits they have just don’t work good, use a rotohammer with appropriate size bit, it will save you a lot of time if you have a-lot to install

Screw snap easily
2-3 of my hard we earned holes drilled the screws broke off in while drilling.

    Screws snapped on install
The first 2 screws from this pack snapped right where it becomes smooth as screwing them in. Even bought the Tapcon bit specified for these screws to make sure, made no difference. Really bad quality.

        Disappointed
I needed to anchor window wells to the concrete foundation of my house. Since these are austensibly the anchors for the job I bought them. The included drill bit dulled after 3 holes which I was prepared for and didn't surprise me. The screws were awful. 2 out of every three broke off in the hole and is now, unfortunately, a permanent fixture. The heads of about 1/4 of the rest I used rounded off quickly and had to be discarded. I would not recommend these but unfortunately they have become pretty ubiquitous.

This is what you need to sink into concrete if you live in an ICF (Insulated Concrete Form) built home. The concrete is sandwiched between 2 1/2" of dense foam insulation inside and out. after penetrating the foam you're left with 1 1/2" of bite and you have to consider the thickness of the material you are trying to attach with the Tapcon. It is reported that a 1/4" screw with a 1" bit, has a sheer strength of 900lbs. When using first blow out your hole after drilling to assure a secure bite.

Used their masonry bit, made sure I drilled the hole deeper than the anchor, installed these with an impact driver and couldn't be happier. Had a storm a few days later and the patio cover didn't budge. 16 of them in with no breakage.

If you need concrete anchors and don't want to bother with the lead anchors with a good steel bolt these are as good as anything else. But the heads have a little taper to them and strip and round off really easy in a socket or end wrench. They don't have a good head on them where the wrench can get a good grip for the length of the head like a steel lag screw. Then you have no choice but to back it out, throw that one away and use a new one. I used about 1/2 of the box to get 16 anchor points in 2 4x4 post bases. But the 75 anchor box is cheap enough that you can afford to do that and I knew what to expect from past experience. They are convenient.

          Holding up well
I used these about 2 years ago to secure an internal dog kennel fence to my block walls in my basement. I used some pipe strapping along with these Tapcons. These went into the block great and have been securely hanging on. I've even backed them out to take the fence down so I could have a new HVAC system installed in my basement and then I put these back in again with no issues. These have met my expectations and there hasn't been anything that I've disliked about them. Please hit the thumbs up if this was helpful.

These things are great! I mounted a book case type shelf onto my basement wall. I needed a 2 x 4 under it to help hold it in place as well as others under each shelf to keep it against the wall. I tried to use fluted nails and cut nails. They just bent and chipped the block. Never did get one to go into the block. Got these and, bada boom, bada bing! Never though you could use screws to fasten into blocks! Quick and easy! Make sure that you use the correct drill bit and a hammer drill.

I've used tapcon screws many times before and as always, they exceed my expectations. In this project I used the tapcon screws to hang two garden hose hangers on concrete block walls. I did need to add washers because the pre-installed holes in the garden hose hangers were slightly larger than the heads of the tapcon screws. I used a 3/16 inch tapcon screw drill that I already had and because of the great thread engagement of the tapcon screws, I was finished in about 10 minutes.

Tapcons are designed to grip in concrete and brick primarily. The 8 pack I bought did a decent job however 2 of them snapped in the brick I was using them to attach a board.

Strong hold don’t use included drill bit
I used these 3/16 by 1 1/4 to secure metal drip guards over my exposed windows, into 70 year old heavy texture stucco. So far I’ve used 30 screws, all are I strong as heck, but don’t use the included drill bit. Step down your bit by one size, the included drill bit will not allow the tapcon to grip. I tested my drilling into extra brick, even switched hammer drills to the same result. Very frustrating when drilling into your home. I read reviews to see a lot had the same issue.

Don't waste your time with these.
I drilled 8 holes in a retaining wall to strap a metal conduit. I tried inserting 8 of these screws. 1 actually seated and was good. One wouldn't go in all the way, it stalled out my impact driver. The other 6 stripped. Don't waste your time with these. I removed all these, drilled out the holes to 5/16", inserted plastic anchors, and put regular 1/4" screws in. They went in and seated perfectly. These screws are no cheaper and no easier to put in than plastic anchors so just start with the plastic anchors to start with.

They keep thousands of items defying gravity and joining thousands more to become almost all the things that make life livable, functional and attractive. I used the Tapcon fasteners to attach my new shutters to the brick and mortar side of our home. The holes were filed with fasteners and the Tapcon Concrete Anchors admirably did their job by securing our new shutters to the mortar seams of the brick wall and dressing up the front of our home after 30+ years of neglect. My wife and I were amazed and taken back by how the Tapcon Anchors and new shutters rescued a bland front wall... Chaz & Jeanne / North Merrick .

I have been a fan of the Tapcon screws for a number of years, they have never failed me! In this case, I was mounting a piece of plywood, through 2x4 lumber, to a concrete wall. I always pre-drill my wood so that these slide nicely through the wood without binding.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Utter garbage. Using to anchor hold downs for my driveway gate rail. Used their pro install kit and their drill bit in the size they recommended. Three screws later, two barely made it in, and the third is stuck in the hole and the install kit is stripped. Less than useless, as now I have a screw sticking out of my driveway...

Bought the 3/16" first ... the bit i was sold to drill the holes (picked out by sales clerk ... also 3/16" ... hole FAR to big for 3/16" Tapcon. Drove back to HD and got 1/4" Tapcon ... did nothing but further enlarge hole. Trying to secure a brace to my cement patio (to secure a Weber grill from flying away ... FL). Now i have 1/4" holes (can't go any bigger with drilling them out - which would weaken them and cause the holes (not painted edges) to rust. Clearly ... the solution is within the realm of Tapcon.
