I owned the last version of this tool for 15 years and LOVED IT. However, this tool has been poorly redesigned. The sleeve holds on to bits (and the drill itself) with a small ball bearing on both ends held in by a small metal band. On the first use, the small metal bands loosened, spun down the tool, and the ball bearings flew out. This rendered the tool useless (cuz it won't hold on to bits any longer). Because my last tool was so great, I was quite aggravated with thoughts of "engineered cost cutting". However, the company customer service is impressive. One call and they are sending me a replacement tool. The engineer also called me (although he said "it's the first time he's ever heard of this issue"). When I get my new one, I'm going to wrap some electrical tape around the bands to hold them in place and cross my fingers.

The Tapcon Install Kit seems like a great idea. I install Tapcon anchors on regular occasions. For someone like me, it’s a good idea. For high users of anchors, stick with the 2-tool method; its faster and easier. And for those that rarely install anchors, skip this tool for now. But back to me. I was looking for a way to simplify my anchor installs AND get better results. The over-torqueing and snapping of heads; YES, this will help a lot, but only if you are installing the hex screws; for Philips screws, it does little help. You also have to use an allen wrench (hex wrench) to install the drill bit. Tool-less would be better. Now if they included (2) of the Drill Bit Adapters, that would be great as I can have 2 bits installed at the same time. Instructions for rotary hammers don’t make sense. I am not sure this kit would give you much advantage for a rotary hammer. But for hammer drills and impact drivers, yes, a huge advantage. The hex drivers are magnetic, so the screws are held in the bit. Be sure to buy 2 drill bits as the kit does not include any drill bits and it’s best to have a spare. Here’s a tip: Cut out the instructions from the back of the package and include it in your carry pouch. The pouch is great; it keeps all the pieces together.

The Tapcon pro installation kit makes repetitive drillings and installation of Tapcon anchors easy. Select the correct size Tapcon drill for anchor to be used and insert into the drill adapter, tighten the set screw with the hex key provided. Insert the drill adapter into a hammer drill or impact driver. Drill hole ¼” deeper than depth of the anchor embedment. Slide sleeve over drill bit and snap into drill adapter. Insert either hex drive or Phillips head bit (depending on anchor being used) into the end of the sleeve, position fixture to be fastened and drive Tapcon anchor into predrilled hole. Tool automatically disengages when a hex head anchor is set.

This Pro Installation Kit comes with all the adapters I need to do any of the projects I may encounter when required in concrete, tile or concrete backer board. Whats best about this kit is it's ability to give a more precision grip of the Tapcon screw and how it reduces the overtorqing and head snapping which can easily occur under normal use of a powered drill or driver when installing in concrete. The added pouch is a nice extra to keep all these accessories together.

This is worth the money, especially if you use it on the job. No need to keep changing bits back and forth. You just drill the pilot hole and slip the driver right over the drill bit. Only 1 drill needed. I use a DeWalt 20v combo drill which has: hammer drill , drill & screw gun settings. The hammer drill makes drilling the pilot holes very easy.

This is very well thought out kit. It is truly functional and makes the job of setting Tapcon screws very easy and user friendly.

Made drilling and setting Tapcon concrete screws a breeze. I could use just a single hammer drill - drill the hole, slip the sleeve on, and drive the screw.

Essentially the idea of this multi-purpose tool is very good, with the same drill you can drill the pilot hole then set the Tapcon screw, and in that respect it works very well, except the driver bit for the screw is now at least 6" from the drill which makes it a little unstable. If you have ever used a long drill bit you'll know what I mean. The project I was doing involved anchoring sleepers to a concrete slab, so I needed to do a lot of drilling and found the constant switching from drill bit to a driver bit (albeit somewhat unstable) was annoying. I quickly opted for keeping three drills close at hand, a regular drill to drill a pilot through the wood, a hammer drill to drill a pilot into the cement, then a screw gun to drive the Tapcon. I will say the bit that holds the cement drill bit is a nice feature and I can change drill bits quickly, In that respect it was worth the price.

Excellent product Use it all the time

If anything it made the tapcons snap the heads even easier. Which is kinda absurd because it specifically said it helps reduce that. The bit also rounded out the head on the tapcons too which is really cute. Totally regret this purchase.

It does exactly what it says

Works okay for smaller fasteners, but I was using screws that had larger heads than the sockets found in this kit. Overall, it felt a little gimmicky. Wouldn't say that this is a must have to work with the fasteners.

this tool is better than the previous model the retainer clips are metal not plastic

Was disappointed that the tool kit did not come with any bits. Would have gotten an excellent rating if bits were included. Have to purchase bits separately.

Was having a tourque issue with screws, yes I did solve the problem with heads twist ing off most of the time but still not perfect
