Not sure when the quality of these buckets took a nose dive, used to be a solid product. Purchased 21 homer buckets to handle ore samples, left me with nothing but regret. Out of the 21 buckets, only 11 will still hold water, the rest have cracked at the bottom. Nearly a 50% failure rate, unreal. If you think you're saving money by getting homer buckets, think again. Find buckets elsewhere, that's all I can say.

It was orange. It matched my orange bucket lid. That matched my orange reloading equipment. I like orange.

I bought this years ago to store some rice in. I never got around to doing it as the survivalist interest passed for me. One day I picked it up and there was three wide gaps in the bottom like the plastic shrunk and separated. It was kept inside the house and never used. I'm sure glad I didn't use it for food storage.

Used a new HD bucket for dust collection and the bucket collapsed from the vacuum pressure. Switched to a super beat up old bucket (not HD) and it held up just fine

It's a bucket. It's orange. It's so fantastic and wonderful I can barely contain myself. I left my wife of twenty years to be with this bucket. I love this bucket so much that I now identify as an orange home depot bucket so I can legally marry it and make it my life partner. Five stars.

The Home Depot 'Homer' bucket at one time was durable and lasted for years. Today, this bucket is cheaply made and doesn't last. The plastic grip is thinly made and fails quickly, too quickly.

Drilled holes through the bottom and planted tomatoes. Great patio planter.

The "Homer Bucket" has deteriorated to such low quality that the only thing that distinguish itself as a bucket is the fact that it doesn't have a hole in it!

I'm a sucker for the orange HD buckets. I almost buy one every time I use one in the store. There is more uses for a five gallon bucket than anything could even think of. The main thing for me it keeps the parts for my plumbing projects together. The last one I bought was for 600aa battery's. Broken bags and lost parts are eliminated. You can never have to many Home Depot buckets.

5 gallon buckets save the day, I use these in cleaning my 36 gallon fish tank.

Used this bucket with 5 gallon filter and lid for a recent home exterior paint project. High quality and lid fit well. Wish they were cheaper but $5 isn't so bad for what you get. Handle could be a little more robust but held find even when completely full with 5 gallons of paint.

This bucket is superb, such high-quality. I use them very often and they are very durable and sturdy. I definitely recommend buying these in 6-packs, you can’t go wrong! I have been using 1 certain bucket for about 4 years, and it still works great!!!!

I went with this bucket because of the great reviews. I was not disappointed. These bucket does all it's supposed to do and more. It's the most awesome buckets in the world. I call it my magic bucket because with it I can move five gallons of water from one place to another and such much more. Truly a miracle of science. I also collect buckets and this bucket was the perfect addition to my collection. It really adds beauty to my showroom (or shed) You must get this bucket. It is a must have for any collector or fan. The buckets are extremely sturdy, allowing 2-6 heavy buckets stacked on the bottom one. Great value on a very sturdy work bucket. I have several for cleaning and carrying tools on home projects. The buckets are perfect; no leaks, no cracks, even when lifting it by the raised rim alone!

I have bought 10 of these over the last 2 years. All but 2 have developed large cracks in the bottom. The cracks make them unusable for water. Another example where products have got so cheap they become crap.

The buckets were exactly what we needed to create our 5-gallon bucket garden.

These buckets are made very well. I have a couple of them in my garage. I use them at least once a week for something. I've had these buckets for over 7 years now and they have no sign of stress. The handle is easy to hold onto and it seems durable and hasn't fallen off. This bucket meets my expectations and there isn't anything that I dislike about it.

We've been using these buckets for years for our plants. Started out with 15, now have 57 buckets. This year we have a mix of pepper plants and leaf lettuce. We've also done eggplant and tomatoes in the past. I drill 3 9/16" holes in bottom and make 3 cuts in bottom edge for drainage. Put 2-3 inches of peat in bottom and fill with enriched soil.

Life saver, these are the best for a bucket garden.

WOW the quality in these newer buckets have gone down hill! . The newer shade of orange is horrible. The bottom of the buckets x2 i bought is deformed/warped and not flat. There needs to be some quality control before sending out to stores
