Exactly what I was looking for.

Bought this with the intention of covering the end of the open PVC coming out the back of the house. It fit like a glove.

This is a multipurpose vent cap, suitable for furnace, water heater, air intake and exhaust, and for both roof vents and water drains This vent cap has an outside diameter of 3 1/2" and is 1 3/16" deep. The stainless steel mesh is at one end, is fitted into an inside rebate and held in place by an apparently solvent-welded PVC ring. The fitting is an expected interference fit in a 3" PVC DWV hub fitting. The condensation drain is a semicircular groove approximately 3mm, or 1/8", deep. When assembled in the 3" hub, approximately half its depth is obscured by the stop in the hub, substantially reducing cross area of the groove. A square grove would be more effective. At the time of writing this review, I considered the item to be rather pricey at $11.99 vs its alternate for my application of a PVC 3 in. Inside Pipe Fit Flush to Floor Drain at just over $2. HomeDepot.com no longer lists this floor drain, and upon enquiry I was informed it is discontinued, though the local store had quite a few at the time. While the latter is all-PVC and an in-pipe fitting vs PVC with Stainless Steel insert and an in-hub fitting, they are functionally interchangeable. If through-flow is critical, the stainless steel mesh does provide substantially less obstruction.
