ThermaCELL works great!
I have this product in butane version, and now this chargeable version. These things are magic. Turn it on and leave it outdoors on ,or near, your table, for 15 minutes or so….and you won’t see any mosquitos, etc… as long as it’s not too windy out, they work great. I’ve been using one every time we eat outside and it really is remarkable. Check out my pics for a visual. This is small, and rechargeable. Awesome!

Waste of money
After letting the unit warm up and run for 30 minutes, it seemed to have no effect on the mosquito population in my backyard, as evidenced by this photo. In the picture, you can see three things: The new thermacell I just bought, my legs with multiple fresh bites, and a live mosquito sucking the blood from my flesh. Waste of money.

    Does not work
I have used Thermacell products in the past with great success. Thought I would try this rechargeable one. Wast of money. It doesn’t work. Followed all directions, feel the unit getting warm, but still have mosquitoes bite me and I am not a foot away!

I wanted something reliable to repel mosquitos from our deck, because my daughter is really susceptible to bites (she'll get 30 bites when others just get one or two). I was excited to try this product, because the electric bug zapper I've been using for a few years didn't really clear the mosquitos out. Well, it turns out that there just haven't been many mosquitos around this year, so I haven't been able to test it, but I did want to share one important piece of information, especially with parents, pet owners, or people with bee-attracting gardens. The "repellant" in this product is listed as a pesticide, and so while it's called a "repeller", the device will actually kill mosquitos, as well as many other insects. The active ingredient is metofluthrin, which unfortunately is not listed anywhere on the Home Depot product description. When mosquitos do come out, I would probably use this to clear an area in advance, and turn it off once kids are playing in the area.

This product is easy to assemble. Just open the top, remove the battery protector and pop in a refill of deterrent. Push the button to turn it on. It make no sound as it heats the cartridge and emits the deterrent. Turn off the unit by pushing the button again. To recharge , just connect the included cable to your computer or a phone charger. As far effectiveness. I will have to wait for a month or two until the mosquitoes here in the South are swarming.

This smaller Thermacell mosquito repeller is great for it's portability. You can take this unit anywhere and hopefully have a 20' radius of mosquito free space. We haven't experienced a huge number of mosquitos yet this year or it has been too windy to give it a true test. One evening we gave it a try. Two of us were sitting outside. My husband was getting bit. We turned the unit on and within a short period, we could still see some mosquitos flying around but he stopped getting bites. This Thermacel is rechareable with a USB cord. It comes with a 12 hour repellent refill. It is very easy to use. There is no sound to it or smell. You can tell it is turned on by lights on the on/off button. The one downside is the cost and accessibility of the refills. The refills however will be 30-40 hour refills.

This mosquito repeller is a must-have if you live anywhere with a lot of biting bugs. Florida, I hope I have your attention. Even here in the southwest, we have mosquitoes and no-see-ums and they can really ruin a nice night outside. Thermacells have a good reputation for working well and this little device works great. First off, it's small and compact so it doesn't have much of a footprint at all. That means you can rest it down nearby and not need to worry about tripping over it. Ours came in a nice subtle tan shade so it didn't attract too much attention and in a durable enough plastic. Operation is easy, just plug in one of the moon-shaped liquid fill cartridges, pop the top on, and press the main button and you'll hear a beep. The lights will blink as the unit heats up and then hold steady when the unit is operating. If you really look closely you can barely see a little wisp of vapor coming out of the repeller, but it's tough to see. No loud noise, no obnoxious smells, and the bugs were gone. Citronella candles pale in comparison to what thing device can do. Turn it off with a long button press and it beeps to confirm. That's it. Simple, fast, and effective. It even recharges with a provided cable. The only thing to remember, you'll need to buy a refill cartridge when your repellent runs out. I wish more products worked this seamlessly. I recommended it to my sister in Florida and would recommend it to anyone that wants a break from biting bugs.

I hate mosquitos. We have the nasty ankle biters that bite through socks. I have used anti-mosquito incense and candles, but the smoke gets in my eyes and nose. It's unpleasant. I'd thought that I'd give this a shot. I charged it up using the USB port. Afterwards, I inserted the repellant capsule (remove its cap), and turned it on. About 15 minutes lated, you could see a light stream of "smoke" coming out. You can't smell it and you really don't know it's on. It seems to keep the mosquitos away.

This mosquito repellent by Thermacell works great. It was easy to set up and looks styles on my patio table. The kit came with the unit, a 12 hour refill, and charging cable to charge the rechargeable batteries. NO need to replace batteries. It is scent free but respells mosquitoes up to 20 feet. It is also safe to use because there is no open flame. Also I hate bug spray, it is sticky and smelly and you always have to wash it off. This has no mess. It comes is a couple of different colors. It is small enough that you can put it anywhere.

The mosquito repellent is a must have for outdoor hangouts in Summer. Especially with diseases like Zika around our area which can spread through mosquitoes, this is a good precaution to have both for comfort and safety. We found ourselves spending much more time outdoors during the pandemic and we find it safer to meet neighbors and friends outdoors with 6ft distance in place. Once the nicer weather hits in Texas so do the mosquitos! When we spend time in the backyard or meet friends on the driveway we place this in the middle and place our chairs around it. It creates an invisible and odorless dome around us. We can sit from 7pm to 10pm and not a single soul gets bitten. You can even estimate the boundaries of its effect and move your chair closer if you get bitten. It is easy to use with the chargeable heating unit and the refill that comes with it lasts around 12 hours, 3-4 hangouts for us. We are planning to purchase more refills in the coming weeks.

The Thermacell E55 Rechargeable Mosquito Repeller is a great device to have for outdoor living. It is rechargeable with a USB Micro cable. The included cable has a USB A on thee other end, but there is no power adapter. Most of us have plenty of these around by now. First charge the unit up, there will be 3 blinking LED's during charge, they stop blinking when fully charged. Grab the refill and remove the cap, insert refill into to base and put the lid back on, press the button and it starts working. Save the refill cap so you can replace it should you decide to transport the unit, this will prevent spills. Battery charge is good for about 5.5 hours and the included refill is good for 12 hours. 40 hour refills are available, and the unit costs about $.50 per hour to operate. It does a good job of repelling mosquitoes as long as there is not a breeze. Usually the breeze keeps the bugs away so you are good either way. This is a nice unit that will see lots of use on our deck this summer.

The Thermacell Rechargeable Mosquito Reseller in Haze is a new sent free-no spray Mosquito repellent. The first thing you need to do when you purchase it is to take it out of the box and also take out the USB cord and plug it in so you can charge the battery in the unit. The drop in refill has the repellent in it and the base unit heats it so that it flows up through the center opening in the Unit. The repellent cartage that comes with the unit only has 12 hours of repellent in it , but when you purchase the refill it has 3 times as much . But then for the price it should be , The price of the unit and the refill are it major downfalls. But if you are sensitive to sprays and lotions i see it as a good alternative. it states it has approx. 20ft Radius of protection on a non windy day .

I hate mosquitoes because they seem to love me. Where I live, they become an annoyance as soon as the weather turns nice. So I wanted to try this Thermacell repeller. The set up is super easy with the first step being charging the unit up with the included usb cable. Once that was done, I removed the top of the unit (it's held in place with magnets), removed the cap from the repellent pod, and dropped it into the the top of the unit and replaced the top. Hit the power button and it starts to warm up. The light indicator shows when the unit has reached temp and dispensing repeller at full power. The unit is compact and looks nice; the color blends in with our patio. It seems to be working well so far, and we will be looking to purchase additional repellent pods.

The battery-powered Thermacell mosquito repellents are an improvement in several ways over the older, fuel-heated models. The first is, of course, that you don't have to fuss with the liquid fuel - just charge the battery and go. Second is that the area of protection is five feet wider than the older models. Third, the active ingredient in the rechargeable models, metofluthrin, is not toxic to cats and bees, unlike allethrin used in the fuel-powered models. It takes about 15-20 minutes for the wick to warm up, but once it does it provides a generous zone where mosquitoes stay away. There is no claim, however, on repelling other types of biting insects, such as black flies.

This mosquito repellent works. At the end of this review is a overview video I put together. The repller is rechargeable which is great (no wires) to plug in and is small. Set-up is easy as well, just turn on and let it warm up; in 15 minutes your outdoor area is protected, unless its very windy at which point mosquitoes are likely blowing around too. It takes a few hours to charge and the battery lasts up to 5.5 hours. The repellent cartridges though only last for a finite amount though and replacements can get pricey. To get the most out of your cartridge, ensure you put it back in its holder when the unit is in storage. This repeller comes with one 12 hours cartridge and replacements are labeled to last 40 hours. I researched the repellent chemical used (metofluthrin) and it is somewhat toxic, so dont operate this right next to a plate of food or breath vapor very close to the repeller. Metoflutherin is proven to be effective against several species of mosquitoes (to include tiger mosquitoes, the daytime biters) but it will also repel and potentially kill bees. So, if you love having bees around your outdoor space, this repeller is probably not for you unless you only operate it during the night or 10 or so feet away from pollinator plants. Metofluthrin breaks down easily outside but it works by essentially disabling flying insects that breath it in, it can also kill them. It comes with a USB charging cable and is made in Thailand.

The Thermacell Rechargeable Mosquito Repeller is a great tabletop addition on our patio. The Riverbed (Tan) color blends well with our outdoor setting. Assembly was simple and I allowed it to charge overnight to receive maximum benefit. It uses the micro-usb chargers you have for all the other devices in your house. Once charged, it's as simple as touching the button and letting it do its thing. We didn't have any mosquitos around us while using the repeller. The device has a heating element inside it that activates the repellant. But the unit is cool to the touch, and I couldn't feel any direct heat while it was operating. Every once in a while, a little smoke/mist would come out of the opening to let me know the device was operating. It wasn't noticeable nor was there an unpleasant odor. I couldn't smell anything. Turning off was simply pressing and holding the button for a long second. Once the mosquitos start attacking in earnest, I'm looking forward to moving them away with this device.

We have had a problem with mosquitos during the summer around our pool area. This product we placed on our outdoor table and it tends to keep the mosquitos away. It puts out a scent free mist that keeps the pest away from the eating area. The Themacell is small enough to take on camping trips and the scent holder can replaced after it is used up. It comes with a USB charging cord and it runs on a battery and the unit tells you the battery level of the unit.

I’ve never used a repellent system like this before, so I was excited to try it out for myself to gauge how easy it was to use and its overall effectiveness. My observations: • This item comes with a repeller with rechargeable battery, a USB charging cord, and one 12 hour repellent cartridge. • Using this is easy. Mine was fully charged right out of the box. I removed the cartridge cap and place it inside the repeller. After that I turned on the power (one push). It warmed up in about 2 minutes and then it was working. The directions say to give it about 15 minutes for full effectiveness. I found this to be true. No bites. • No scent at all. We liked that. You basically forget it’s even running. • It’s quiet. It runs so quiet that I could hear no noise at all. • I like that it’s completely cordless. Not unsightly cords and that means you can move it around anywhere you want with ease. • Great places to use this: camping, your patio/deck, tailgating, picnicking, porch, etc. • Expect about 5 to 6 hours of battery life on a full charge. • Additional cartridges are available to buy at Home Depot. I found a Thermacell 36-hour cartridge in my local store. • It has a nice appearance and will blend right into any décor. I’ve found this to be effective and I like the small footprint. I recommend. We love the outdoors and this will be easy to take with us.

No one likes mosquitoes, and mosquitoes hate thermocell repellers. It is a win win. Thermocell makes great portable units that are great for fishing and the like but this if the perfect solution for the patio or possibly camping. I have there large lantern style repeller that is great for any outdoor activities needing both light and less mosquitoes. It like most of their units claims a 15 ft bubble that seems more or less correct depending on wind. This unit with a claimed 20 ft bubble covers my entire small patio with wiggle room. Pretty impressive for such a small device. The user interface is very simple. The cap is retained via magnets. The liquid pack containing the repellant is just a simple drop in arrangement and finally the single button on the front turns the unit on and off. Nothing fancy. Means less that can go wrong and less frustration. There are lights that indicate battery level and when charging or when heating up. The whole machine while smaller than expected is very well thought out. The device comes with a 12hr repellant tank and a micro USB charging cable. This means you can use your phone charger or pretty much any USB charging system. So long as the area you are trying to protect from mosquitoes isn't too windy these are very affordable and super effective. Plus no more arc flashing black light and the smell of burning moths from a bug zapper nearby.

THERMACELL RECHARGEABLE MOSQUITO REPELLER I have used Thermacell repeller hunting for years, so for me it’s the first and only name in repellers. This small designer looking repeller is the latest state of the art in home mosquito repellant. It’s simple, very easy to use and it’s rechargeable by USB. The cord is included. The refills are easy to install and I love the visibility to see how much is left. The bonus is the small Lights to indicate it is on, and when it is at temperature for max diffusion. No smell or spray, and it WORKS!!

This mosquito repellent device was extremely easy to assemble. It comes with one 12-hour repellent refill but we purchased a 40-hour refill separately. Having a rechargeable battery with a USB port charger is an excellent feature. The device itself looks very nice and will look great on our patio. We plan on bringing it with us when we go to the park to watch plays and bands. We will get a lot of use out of this.

      Previous model worked awesome
Haven’t used yet. The previous one I bought worked amazing. I will give kudos to the extraordinary service received when contacting the company regarding an older device where the battery stopped charging altogether (roughly 2 yr old one that wasn’t in production anymore). I was mailed a code for replacement to a newer model. After 1st email to CS I was promptly replied to w some trouble shooters, to which I replied didn’t work for me. I was informed the battery needs recharging every 2-3 months even when not in use, and as I live in an area w four seasons, I had not kept it charged after the summer/early fall so I’m sure that was the problem. Even still, I was sent a code for a brand new one w/shipping included after explaining the trouble shooting tips didn’t work. Excellent service.
