Single Stage Snowblower versus a two stage blower
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Toro snowblower is very powerful and makes quick work of the snow. I switched from an ARIENS two stage snow blower to a Toro single stage snow blower and found the toro is not only substantially quicker at moving snow but is also a lot easier on your body than the two stage. I am very happy about my purchase and will continue to support Toro. One of my best purchases yet!

Ease of operation
I bought after demo'ing my neighbors. The delivery of mine was delayed, and the snow was gone when it arrived, It's an easy start and compact for storage. See attached pics of the damage:

The best snowblower we have since 2015.

Great snowblower for light to medium snowfalls
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This snowblower has great power. It can throw heavier snow a long way. I like that it’s light weight to maneuver. Start up is easy with electric start. If pull start is needed it starts in one pull and pulls easy. The only con is the shoot. I wish there was a crank on the handle so you didn’t have to bend over to adjust the shoot.

        Love this machine
Bought this a month ago. Had knee surgery right after. Two snow falls. Light fluffy three inches and wet heavy five inches. I was able to push it through both snows one month post opp. Starts in one pull. Haven’t used electric start yet. Pushes through heavy wet stuff very well. Have to tilt so scraper to clean driveway effectively. Did need to wiggle it a bit in the heavy stuff to get it moving at first. I highly recommend this machine.

          Horrible
You just can not believe how horrible this thing was made. I bought this 721E on Sep 27, 2022 and used it three times on Nov this year, and the Pulling String had brocken, and Homedepot told me it was out of their one month warranty and tell me to reach out to Toro,,, How dare a " machine" can not even last for more than three times of use

            Great machine!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this right before a snow storm. I was not sure what to expect performance wise how it would run and man was I impressed! Cuts through the snow like butter! Even at almost 8 inches it wasn’t skipping a beat at all! Love this blower!

            Nice light weight blower
Easy to put together. Only a few steps. Used it the next day and worked great. Used the electric start. And also tried the pull start. Started on first pull. Only gave 4 star because only used onced. Will see how it handles next winter.

Left black marks all over concrete
I bought this unit because of brand reputation and positive reviews. However, on the first use with about 1" of snow on the ground, the paddles left black marks all over my driveway and sidewalk. Has anyone else had this issue? I am unable to identify anyone else with the issue so I am wondering if I have a defective unit. There were no instructions for needing to adjust the paddles.

We appreciate you bringing this to our attention. We recommend not pushing down hard on the machine when moving through snow, allow your machine to work at its own pace as the scraper blade should make full contact with the ground to remove the snow. Pushing down on the unit puts pressure on the scraper blade leaving behind black residue. We suggest using an outdoor degreaser to help remove any residue left behind from the scraper blade.

              Poor Quality Assurance
Purchased and assembled this unit a week ago. There was no snow here at the time so I just did a quick cursory first startup and it went fine. Went out to use it today for the first time and after one pass down my driveway the blower sounded like it was eating itself alive. Shut it down and after checking I found both countersink screws & lock-nuts that secure the auger to the blade were missing from one side. Needless to say the auger is now damaged. After further checking I found 4 of the remaining 6 screw & lock-nuts securing the augers to the blades weren't even tightened enough for the threads to engage the nylon inserts in the lock-nuts... finger tight at best. Well done, Toro I will be sourcing the replacement parts locally as I can only image the nightmare of trying to go through Toro for them.

                Toro Snowblower
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I brought this snowblower in December for Chicago snow. I hade a craftsman 6 cycle large machine, hard to maneuver and would get stuck. This Toro is smaller easy to use, maneuver and this thing is powerful. This is my first Toro product and I am truly satisfied and my husband who is not handy at all was able to put it together in minutes... he actually I was so happy with he did a few neighbors houses.... ooo did mention we live on a corner lot....

Exhaust poorly placed . . . faulty design!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The reason for my rating is because of the poorly placed exhaust. I bought it on a Tuesday, used it on Wednesday, took it in for warranty replacement of the cable on Thursday and it's been at the shop ever since! The exhaust blows directly on the left side of the handle and melts the sheathing on the cable that actuates the paddles. I'm sure Toro will do nothing but replace the cable, but that does not solve the problem. When I go to pick up my unit, I'm going to see if I can trade it in for another brand. I'm not going to saddle myself with a myriad of issues with Toro going forward. I'm cutting my losses now.

BEWARE Before You Buy - Cable melts due to exhaust design
I want to first say that I DO think this is a good snowblower. However I gave it a lower rating due to a serious design flaw. I bought this model brand new recently and was looking forward to its use. The cable that is used to pull the auger and attached to the handle lever, is right across from the muffler exhaust. Consequently with the heat of the muffler the plastic coating on the cable melts. I am concerned that this is not only a fire hazard but also over time both the cable in the handle that are across from the exhaust will deform and/or crack. I feel that Toro should provide an aftermarket product to redirect the exhaust. Unfortunately the design should never have been allowed to be built like this. I like the snowblower as it moves the snow well and is more than adequate for an average size driveway and can handle up to 8” snowfalls. However for much larger surfaces and very frequent snowfalls a dual stage/heavier unit may be more appropriate.

Got this from Brooklyn by Dekalb Ave store, on 1/31/2021 just ahead of big sown storm. At the store they help me loaded it in my mini van, very friendly and good service, thank you Home Depot! Toro made it super easy to install after unpack, all I need to do was to added the engine oil which come with the snowblower and I went to gas station purchase $2.20 gasoline loaded into the gas tank. It crank it right away with the electric start, It work like champ although its a single stage but clean the heavy snow like piece of cake. I am very happy and satisfy with this snowblower!

                    Bad design
The plastic cover for the auger cable has melted away as it sets near the gear box (or something) and the heat from this box has melted the plastic covering... now the auger cable is exposed and I’m sure will break from the heat.... I would definitely think twice about purchasing this machine....

We purchase this product on January 30 as soon as we took it out of the box it was already chipped. We use this machine no more than five minutes and a piece already broke in the machine is not working. The piece that broke off is critical for the machine to operates it’s a replaceable part we jumped online to see how to replace it so we can fix it an hour later the machine turned on for like a minute and turned off on its own. I would not recommend this product.

This Power Clear 721E is the right size to clear the area I have quickly. I have owned one Toro snowblower for over 25 years. I actually sold it so someone can continue using it. They are easy to maintain and always start when you need them the most.

                        Works great!
I have not had this more than a day but I am replacing a larger 22" 2-stage. This snow blower kicks some serious butt. Tons of power, starts easily, quiet exhaust, very easy to assemble when buying new, runs smooth. Doesn't bat an eye at deeper or slushier snow, just powers through and throws far. My father has always run Toro single stage snow blowers and his is similar to this, and over 10 years old working great. I hope this lasts as long!

Never again Toro and Home Depot
I am sick at the money I spent to purchase this snowblower. Here we are a month before warranty end and it no longer starts. Gas spewing out. I see that your warranty includes blaming the owner for using gas over 30 days old for this problem and aren’t covering this repair. Negative reviews for this very problem indicate repair costs to be almost the cost of the new unit! So I haven’t bothered to go through the bogus warranty process. Obviously there were problems with the 721E as it’s been totally redesigned. It never worked well anyways as more snow came out the back than through the chute and I should have returned it immediately after purchase. I can’t shovel without pain due my hip issues and can’t afford a replacement on a hardly used, well cared for snowblower. I will never purchase another Toro product. At very least Toro stop treating your warranty as an money-maker on design and engine problems with your products, and blaming owners!

Sorry you had such a difficult experience. We suggest the warranty is very solid and 100% supported by Toro. Simply have the machine physically inspected by an independent authorized mechanic and should there be a manufacturing defect as identified by the independent mechanic then there is no cost to you. This particular machine has a strong 4.5 star rating on Home Depot and we want everyone to have a 4.5 plus experience! For any further assistance please contact 888-384-9939. Thank you! Toro

I would recommend this snow blower with reservations. The auger clutch cable, braided stainless steel, runs through a plastic guide before it enters the side compartment which houses the belt. In less than a year the cable wore a groove in the guide and pinched the cable so it wound not disengage the auger. I see this as an engineering design fault. I replace the plastic guide today with a steel after-market part. This should take care of the problem

All in all I love it
My verdict is five stars b/c after I consider everything, I do think it is an excellent buy. I bought it a month ago, so it's not that I am using it for years already. It did a great job on 12" snow, although I felt it was its limit. At that height, probably a stronger, larger machine would fit. It means that at 12" the machine would push some snow forward and would create some piles, which would in turn be harder for it to blow. But... again... I ended up clearing my quite large driveway with it. People wrote that it spits snow at your shoes (backwards) as you move with it. That did happen at times, but it is not doing it all the time and it is not that much of a big deal. You're in the snow anyway and you're outside and it is cold and sometimes wet. People also complained about the fact that you can't move the chute from the main handle and they are right. You have to bend and reach out to its handle that is right on it, but again, this is not that much a big of a deal to me.

I like this machine a lot but have 2 small issues. The cable spring and the lever to pull to engage blowet. The cable spring fell off while I was using it and the lever bar or what ever you want to call it will pop out on the side while using it. I thought about drilling the handle bar so the end of the lever goes through and doesnt pop out so easy and thought about bending the spring but I shouldnt have to do that on a new machine. It starts good and lots of power and cleans good , just the handle bar set up seems cheap. Adjustment is eazy to do It was too tight when I got it and electric start would not work and it was engaged as soon as you pull started. I adjusted the cable and it was fine after that.

I have used last week on a snow day and it worked OK. For assembly, there was some work involved in connecting the discharge chute. Somehow, it was connected and during the usage, large noise from the discharge chute. Noticed that the connecting nuts have fallen down somewhere and the chute was loose. Got, ONE inch Bolt and 2 nuts on each from HD (original supplied part has half inch bolt). With one inch bolt, it was very easy to connect and it is sturdy.
