I actually have not used it. I charged the battery, ran it into some crusty ice crap, and decided to wait for actual snow to test it out. We never got enough to warrant using it. You're welcome.

I purchases this because I am sick and tired of small engines -- their starting, maintenance, and consumables. However, I don't really want to try to snow blow with cords. I did a lot of research and this seems to be generally agree to be the best cordless snow blower on the market. I is very light and maneuverable, especially compared to my old 2-stage gas blower. It is so simple to operate. It starts up simple and it is easy to switch the direction of chute. I guess it could be a bit out of reach if you are on the shorter side. I have only had one opportunity to use this since I got it. It was about 4-5 inches of snow -- fairly wet. It got through this great. It did go down to concrete with the scraper. Not even close to a clog. You want to play with the up/down angle on the chute. Higher will give you potentially more distance, but a greater chance of getting caught in the wind and being sent back to slap you in the face. I have a three car wide driveway and about 2+ cards deep. I live on a corner lot with sidewalks on all sides. I got through this snow and had about 1 bar left on the 7.5 AH battery. I am a little worried that I could run out in a bigger accumulation. However, I could do it is phases. Also, since I am now bought-in to the toro 60v line, I may pickup the string trimmer or blower and give them a shot. If I buy, at least, one of of those with the battery, I will get a little bit extra for winter. One other tip: I do like to spray down the auger and chute with silicone spray to help reduce the chance of clogs. In the picture below, the snow has melted of quite a bit because we had some rain the following day.

Purchased just before MN's Thanksgiving snowstorm, this battery-powered snowblower exceeded our expectations, slowly but surely working through 16"+ of heavy snow (not the ideal conditions it was intended for!). In the following week with 2 lighter rounds of several inches of snow each, it made short work of cleaning things up. Couldn't be happier and highly recommend! Just recharge the battery after use so it's ready for the next round. We were able to clear the sidewalks on our corner lot plus the apron of our driveway off the shared alley on one charge.

The product exceeded my expectations. With light snow I was able to plow through 10" of snow with much speed. Still need to test it with heavy snow, but was not expecting to being able to fill the entire front of snow and not slow down. I've done 200 ft of sidewalk in just 5 minutes (a pass there and back). This is great! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I had a single stage, not national brand, snow blower years ago, and this one has much superior components. The other was had a gas motor, and that together with cheap meant it didn't start when it was cold outside, despite its 'electric starter.' This one is able to put that concern aside owing to improved battery technology, allowing a cord free powerful electric motor.. The battery is heavy, as expected, and its charger has an ordinary two pronged polarized plug on a seven foot cord. The charger is fitted with screw holes on the back so you can hang it on a wall near an outlet and the snow blower. It took just over three hours to fully charge, and it hummed as it charged but stopped when fully charged. There are lights on the charger indicating phase of charging, and indicators on the battery tell you its state of charge.

Toro - Because winter is coming! We live in upstate PA and the winters can get brutal. We have a lot of driveway to clear and over the years have gone from a big heavy snow blower to a plow. While the plow makes keeping the bulk of the driveway clear, its not much good for smaller areas and sidewalks around the house. And that is why we decided to pick up the Toro Power Clear. The first impression when unpacking the snow blower was how light it is. I could actually lift it straight out of the box. There is not much to assemble - you simply unfold the handle and attach a couple of knobs to keep everything in place - and you need to clip on a snow deflector. The 60 volt 7.5 amp hour battery pack looks something akin to an energy pack that might power a spacecraft and it drops into a dedicated compartment in the snowblower. The charger has the option of being wall mounted which I found convenient and it seems to charge the battery very quickly - a couple of hours. The sides of the snowblower are steel to aid in "cutting" a path through the snow. The rotor is also steel. The bottom edge that contacts the driveway is plastic and is a replaceable wear item - smart thinking. While I haven't had the opportunity to use this in deep snow yet, I am confident that it will perform to my expectations based on my experience with other Toro products I have used. My parents had the electric snow shovel and it was quite impressive to use as welll, This snow blower is part of the Toro Flex-Force Power System line of products. I am really impressed with the convenience and light weight of this snow blower, I can see myself replacing othe yard equipment with Toro Flex-Force Systems products.

I own two other cordless electric snow blowers and two gas powered snow blowers. The Toro Power Clear is by far the one I will go to when I need to clear a client's driveway. We just had our first snowfall in Illinois today but expect more tomorrow. I could not use the Toro today because the snow was too heavy for any snow blower let alone electric. The Toro has bright lights, a solid feel, safety handle similar to a lawn mower, and an easy start.

(What's this)
I know, you're reluctant to go with battery operated lawn/home equipment. You got a thing or two years ago and they didn't have anywhere near enough power, nor did the batteries last long enough to do the job properly. Well, my friend, you're living in a new day and age now. And you know a powerhouse like TORO isn't going to put their name on any product that comes up short on gusto. This full sized, 21 inch blower boasts a 60 (SIXTY!) volt lithium-ion battery that will delivery all the power you need for as long as the average homeowner needs it. So rest assured, it has the juice to power it along just fine. Next we'll look at the blower itself. This bad boy will be your new best winter friend because it looks and is built just like a conventional snow blower. It even has metal blades (first battery machine I've seen that goes to that quality)! You hold the safety lever, hit the start button and it's ready to eat up the snow on your covered driveways and sidewalks as soon as you are. Now... think about this: You don't have to keep gas and oil around and handy in the winter. You don't have to warm it up when (IF!) it starts like your old fashioned gasoline snow blower. It's virtually maintanance free! It runs powerfully, yet quietly. It even has a BRIGHT set of lights! Are ya kidding me?! This TORO snow blower is a dream! We're living in a great age of powerful batteries, believe me. These new machines are on par with their gas powered cousins - and they are SO much easier on the homeowner to use and keep going. The only assembly is snapping on the directional cone tip... a 3 minute job. When not needed the entire unit folds up to the size of a big microwave oven to preserve space in your garage or shed. And you can pick this baby UP to move it, if you so desire... think about that for a minute. Just amazing!
