Hello, and thanks for your feedback on the Traeger Signature Blend Pellets. Some difference in color between individual bags, even of the same pellet type, can be expected due to diverse growing conditions for the trees, as well as the natural variation of the wood itself. But as long as the open bag was not subjected to prolonged exposure to excessive humidity, then they should be fine to use. However, there are a few things you can do to check the pellets’ condition to be sure. Although the color can vary, they shouldn’t look excessively dull, and still have a smooth sheen to them. Additionally, when breaking them in your fingers, compromised pellets tend to come apart easily, and possibly even crumble instead of snapping cleanly in half. To get more information on Traeger pellets, including how to confirm their quality, head over to the Traeger website and search “pellets”, then click the Support link above the results. You can also call Traeger Customer Service if you are still concerned about their condition and an agent will be happy to check them with you.
