50/50 On This One.
Product easier to install when you fold in half and put a nice solid crease down the center. I have a 16x14 deck and I decided to go with the 12’ roll, but after installation regretting it. I have leaks where the other 2 foot roll I cut connected to the 12 foot roll. Hopefully an easy fix with ordering another roll of 12’ and then just staple it underneath to the joists and run that into the downspouts. We’ll see. Hind sight do yourself a favor and spend the extra money buying longer version and cutting down to correct size. The slope is hard to achieve, but with one roll I’m sure it’s much easier to achieve.

Wrinkle kinks inevitable
Lays good.at first if you follow instructions, once it heats up from sun it shrivels up and kinks bad. Attempting to install in mid October 90 degrees here in Texas. Shrivels up and kinks bad, spray with water and it helps, troughs come back ,dries heats up back come the kinks. Horrible product, extremely overpriced junk. My first pic is while hosing down with water the other pics once dried out.

Al, Thank you for your question and observations. It is a great question that we see often. The troughs are made of a high density polyethylene. Like any polyethylene, they will expand and contract with changes in temperature. This will cause the appearance of wrinkles as the poly expansion is limited by your staples and the sealant tape. When the deck boards are installed, there is no longer any exposure of the entire trough to direct sunlight and the expansion is not nearly as pronounced. There are many pictures from below of our installed product that does not have those wrinkles. It was great that you noticed the changes when you water tested the installation, another important step of the installation process. We've had it under our upper 16 x 16 foot deck for near 8 years. No problem. However, a squirrel decided to get up in the eve and build a nest in a couple funnels, and then proceed to chew the edges of the RainEscape in those two areas. I found your product and used it to cut and repair those two areas, with some judicial usage of double sided tape. It's all been fine now for a couple months thus far. So, almost like new. Thanks for having it available!

Good in concept
Having never used the product prior, did some research and found a few install videos, better than what their site offers. Went the extra distance and applied butyl caulk between the layers of trough at the lap of the joist. Then ran the butyl tape over the seams. Product was perfectly waterproof....until after deck install. Have multiple locations leaking. Used Ipe hidden system. The butyl caulk and tape should have "self healed, but doesn't seem to be the case. Looks like this expensive product just got more expensive for me

Great comment. Wrinkles are really not a problem so long as the water still runs, i.e. no puddles. It will not affect the life expectancy of the product.

I used this a little different than what its designed for - I installed on top of a wood storage ...
I used this a little different than what its designed for - I installed on top of a wood storage area that had a solid roof (slightly sloped), then installed sleepers and decking on top. Looking through the decking you see the brownish color that blends with the decking, which is what I was after. The thought is that this product will keep moisture out of my wood pile. I rolled it out and let it flatten out for a day or so, then stapled where sleepers were going. Seems like it will work great.

Purchased this product to complete my balcony rebuild because of...
Purchased this product to complete my balcony rebuild because of rotting deck boards. After removing the top of my balcony'deck I was able to create a dry usable space below for usable storage. It worked very well.

Great waterproofing system
Part of a Very good waterproofing system by Trex RainEscape. I needed one more roll to complete deck waterproofing, so ordered on line. Had very good service. Trough is difficult to install. Do not attempt in very hot weather. Do in cool of morning.

What a wonderful product
I bought this product for my walk out patio two years age. I was trying to expand my entertainment area. With the rain escape product, I have added can lights, fans, TV and speakers under my deck. I love this product. I feel like I'm on vacation every time I step out side. I recommenced this to anyone with a walk out patio.

Awesome product, works just like advertised
This system works great. Took about 8 hours to install for a 440 SF deck (18 rolls of 16' length used). Only had a few small leaks where a deck screw accidentally punctured the material, but I was able to use spray sealer to stop the drip. Now we have a dry finished porch underneath our deck. works great!
Tip: to make installation easy, unroll and lay flat on the ground and then create a crease down the middle (fold in half). This makes laying on the joists/stapling down much easier and easier to get the pitch right. the instructions say to create a crease after installed, which is much harder.
