It's a fruit picker, what can I say, it works. Easy to extend and collapse for the length you need. The handle is not wood as in the description, it's fiberglass, light and strong. That's why it's 40 bucks, fiberglass. It'll last me the rest of my life or until I have no fruit to pick, whichever comes first.

I bought this as a gift for my dad. He couldn't have been more pleased. The handle extension is especially useful for picking oranges.

When one gets older it is not wise to be climbing on ladders, thus the purchase of a fruit picker. As you can see in the photo my feet are planted firmly on the ground and I'm able to reach and pick a bounty of fresh fruit from my trees. Nothing like growing and eating fresh oranges and grapefruit, and now I can do it safely from the ground thanks to my fruit picker I purchased from Home Depot. Additionally, as the tree gets taller I can use the telescoping feature to reach the highest fruit. Reach the fruit, position picker over the fruit and pull its that easy as the fruit drops into the basket.

Does not extend! In the description it clearly states: "The aluminum telescoping handle mechanism extends to 10 ft" The problem is, the pole sections are crimped so tightly that they don't move. I consider myself a reasonably strong man, but even pulling as hard as I could, it only extended about half a foot. And then of course it was impossible to push back. If this was selling for $15 or so I might be able to excuse this defect, but I paid $40 for something that does not work as advertised. I will be returning this low quality, overpriced item for a refund.

10ft fruit picker- does help with picking fruit but you have to be pretty good at getting the fruit into the basket and then have it just right to pull it off the tree.

I purchased this picker to gather pomegranates and avocados. So far I have also used it to pick lemons. Plan on using it for my grapefruits and limes. I have used the mesh basket with the cutter style in the past and did not care for it. I have standard and dwarf fruit trees which I espalier and or place on arbors. Therefore, I find this fruit picker to be light, extendable to a usable distance and is easy to use. The only negative is, typical of most anything you use to harvest fruit, that the other branches sometime make it difficult to get to the fruit. This does not deter form my expectations of this picker.
