As Advertised
As others have written, easy to work with but use a breathing mask for the dust. Easy to tear with hands rather than use a blade. No itchiness like fibreglass insulation. I thought this was a little pricey for a seeming basic material, but maybe all the treatments to make it fire and vermin resistant take some doing. For me, I was willing to pay the cost because I like the idea of producing from recycled materials but especially because there is no hassle with itchy fibreglass.

NO fiberglass (Awesome)!!!!!
Pros- very dense for sound and temp insulation, tears across the 15" length easily, and no fiberglass. Cons- very difficult to rip or cut down long lengths for narrow applications, impossible to reduce the thickness for thinner applications like 2x4 walls (obviously a lower R value for 2x4 walls will install much easier), was pretty dusty (wear a dust mask). Most of my issues are user issues and inexperience. Overall this is a great product!

A pleasure to work with.
Thanks to extensive squirrel damage over the last few years I've had to re-insulate my roof. I can't think of any DIY job worse than installing fiberglass over my head. But the UltraTouch batts are a joy! The R-30 batts weigh and feel like big stuffed animals. They tuck in between the rafters and hold on by themselves. I've waited for decades for a reasonably-priced product that would insulate like fiberglass without tearing up my skin and bronchials. UltraTouch outdoes anything I could have imagined. I've recommended it to all my DIY friends. The price is a bit steep, but Home Depot's curbside-delivery offer has let me order in the insulation as I can use it--and afford it. I can insulate my entire roof with three separate deliveries over three months, out of pocket. Good deal.

Description/specs incomplete
If you are trying to "do the math" for a per unit (square foot) breakdown of the price for product comparison shopping, you will notice that the square footage in the description write up does not match the result from computing off of the dimensions listed(15"W x 48"L)each x 12 bags/pallet = 60 square feet instead of 300 listed in the description. A key piece of info is missing-namely, there are 5 pieces in each bag-info not shown in the description and when I called customer service they couldn't tell me why "the math" didn't match "the listing" and I was going to have to call the manufacturer. Since the mftr didn't answer the phone # I was given, I looked up the product description on the mftr website and found that each "bag" actually has 5 pieces (of 15" x 48") in it. That tidbit is shown on the bag label but I only saw that after I got the info from the mftr spec sheet and went back to the HD description and blew up the picture as big as I could get it(& it was still squinting size) actually looking for the information just to see if it was there somewhere. HOME DEPOT- WE SHOULD NOT HAVE TO GO TO SUCH LENGTHS TO FIND OUT SUCH BASIC INFORMATION THAT SHOULD BE IN THE PRODUCT DESCRIPTION IN THE FIRST PLACE AND YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE PERSONNEL SHOULD BE ABLE TO PROVIDE ACTUAL CUSTOMER SERVICE WHEN WE CALL IN, NOT JUST REGURGITATE INFO OFF OF THE WEBSITE WE ALREADY HAVE AND ARE QUESTIONING, PROMPTING THE PHONE CALL IN THE FIRST PLACE.

    a very good purchase
it was relatively easy to install, but You did need to wear a mask. It was a bit difficult to cut, I tried an exact o blade, bread knife and scissors. The scissors worked best, but still was not easy.

    So much better than fiberglass!
Though a little pricey, if you hate the itch of fiberglass as much as I do, you will love this insulation! There is a bit of dust, so you’ll want to use a paper mask during insulation. But when you’re done, you just rinse your hands and you’re done - no itching! It's also very easy to install (I did it without my husband’s help!) It performs as well as, or better than, the fiberglass insulation I have hated since I was a kid. Now, I won’t buy anything but this denim insulation!

    insulation install
the 4 ft lengths were just right. Hard to put near the edges in my attic above the garage and attic was hot, Fla. I will be ordering some more in order to have enough to finish. Like installing this product because I did not notice any fiberglass so got no scratches/itches.

    very easy to install
Before installing this insulation I could hear every car that went down the street. Now I can't even hear the garbage truck untill it is right in front of my house. Very easy to handle and install.

    super easy to install
One reason I'd been putting off insulating the attic was the thought of itchy, messy, fiberglass, as well as the dust cloud of fibrous glass that I'd be potentially exposed to. This was wonderful to work with, easy to install, and unlike fiberglass, you don't worry too much about disturbing it to rearrange/tuck/work around stuff. Easy to tear and didn't use gloves, breathing protection, or eye protection. A little dusty, but really not that bad.

    Outstanding product.
I purchased this product for an acoustics panel project. I wanted to use a more user friendly product that was as good or better than fiberglass for this application. The UltraTouch insulation has been fantastic to work with on this project. Very easy to handle, I did not find the product to be as dusty as others have reported in other posts. However, I did not use any large power tools for cutting. The product is difficult to cut, but not impossible. I found that you can cut this product if you use a sharp knife and compress the product near the cut line. For example, using a product like Bullet tools Shut-N-Cut. I did not use that product, but made a jig to hold and compress the insulation.

No more itch - Denim Insulation
Removed itchy fiberglass insulation from attic of 1985 home, then vacuumed up rodent droppings and cleaned entire attic before installing this product. Really liked the product, but wondered how to make cuts to length/width, so bought a compression device with cutting knife. It worked ok, but not easy to go back and forth in attic to make each cut, so ended up with ripping to length in position and this works best. Just rip a little longer so can tuck in position.

This is a great product but expensive
Denim insulation was great. It was a little dusty and requires individuals to wear a respirator mask. To cut the insulation I used a circular saw and this made things go really fast. The great thing is the after insulation is installed an a modification is require, such as additional block or adding lights boxes it is so easy to remove and re-install.

    Awesome product!!
PROS: Easy to install. Fills attic bays nicely. Easy to make smaller pieces by ripping apart bats with bare hands. No gloves needs for installation. Made from 80% recycled materials. The Home Depot website has a cool video of how it's made!! Find the pictures of the product and click the one with the "Play" symbol on it. It has more R value per square inch than fiberglass, Rockwool, and blown-in insulation. So basically, you can get more R-value in a smaller space. It's like my attic is insulated with a very warm, thick blanket. I could almost sleep on it... not that I would want to though... :) CONS: 1) Does not come with a vapor barrier. However, I used Grace Ice and Water shield which is MUCH better than regular plastic sheeting. A 48" roll can be cut into 3 - 16"W sections with a reciprocating saw. Works great!!! 2) Bats can vary in widths. It says 15" wide, but some can be 14.5"W thru 16"W. Had some bays in my attic that were almost 16"W, so I saved the wider ones for that. 3) As of this review, Home Depot only carries this in pallets and NOT individual bags. I wish they sold individual bags, because I needed 2 more bags for the project and I have to drive to a supplier to get them... and pay TWICE what Home Depot charges. Uggh!! I called the manufacturer and since this is a special order for Home Depot, it costs them just as much to send 2 bags as it does to send a pallet full. This is why they don't stock individual bags. Personally, Home Depot should regularly carry this in their stores. I recently asked a sales clerk and he said they did carry it in the store for a short time, but then they stopped. 4) A bit pricey, but well worth it!!
